What an excellent episode of Buffy!
I'm rewatching it now, and haven't seen it for awhile, so I'm going to post my thoughts while I'm watching it.
- That opening scene, of Angel in Buffy's room is both horrible and frustrating. Horrible because it actually really disturbs me. The thought of someone being in my room while I sleep has haunted me to this day because of that scene. I find it frustrating that he doesn't just slit her throat though.
- Yay. Cordelia agrees with me. Joss sure knows how to fix his flaws. By making a character in the show notice the problem I can now giggle at the problem, both getting rid of the horrible feeling I had, and reminding me how clever this show is.
- Man Xander is annoying in this scene. Cordelia might be a little forthright, but at least her prime target here is to help out. Xander, on the hand, is completely annoying and useless.
- Speaking of which, how awesome is season 2 Cordelia. It has been so long since watching early seasons of Buffy, and I've been watching so much Angel that I've forgotten how kick-arse Cordelia was. I actually find her funny (funnier than Xander that's for sure) and she has a certain charisma (no pun intended) that makes me believe she could get away with being the most popular girl in school while being a scooby.
- Tehehe, how funny is the 'self defence' flyer pinned up behind Giles's head while Giles and Buffy discuss Angel and his torture techniques? Makes a lot of sense considering what is being discussed.
- Okay, Cordelia, you're actually in the right here. Why are Buffy, Giles and Xander brushing off your concern that Angel will break into your car and kill you? Considering what happens to Jenny, a very interesting discussion indeed. Perhaps if Buffy started acting on protecting her friends and family sooner?
- As if Jenny would be allowed to palm off her class to a student! Bahaha, absolutely ridiculous!
- That often used quote by Joyce 'i've read all the parenting books' seems more and more like she was actually making fun of herself for reading them, and less like she takes them seriously every time I watch this episode.
- Okay, so he's been in Willow's room and killed her fish. Seriously, can someone please start making some decent decisions? How about you all stay at Buffy's place? I mean Giles is on the school board, can't he send a note home regarding a last minute holiday or something and they can all go stay in Giles's living room? If that was me there is no way I would be in my room all alone.
- Yes! A fanged four (hrm... three) scene. Excellent stuff as always. First of all, it's been awhile since I watched anything from season 2 and can I just say - no frickin wonder I had a mad crush on Spike. He is so damn sexy in this episode, those cheekbones, and those piercing eyes. Wow. And how awesome is Angelus? And wow, those chairs in the factory are incredible. Are they Charles Rennie Mackintosh? They look like they could be.
- Cute scene with Jenny at the magic shop. Is this the same magic shop? It doesn't look like it, but I suppose renovations can be drastic.
- Wow, Jenny is kinda hot. To bad she spent most her time wearing crappy hippy clothes.
- Hehe, Ira Rosenbergs only daughter nailed crosses to her wall. Makes me giggle.
- Oh poo, I know what's coming. Why did I put this episode on? It's way to depressing for 2am insomnia.
- Why doesn't Jenny just smash the door in? If that was me I would be placing my ugly chunky 90's shoes through the glass on that door to the outside and climbing through.
- I can't really talk to much more about this episode, it's so horrible! I'm finding it really difficult to watch and I haven't even got to the part where Giles finds her. It really is an excellent episode. It really toys with my emotions.
