I guess I knew this was coming, but I'm still saddened. I think it was only a matter of time, really. "Roadhouse" was on TV weekend before last and I recorded it just out of nostalgia, I hadn't seen it in SO long. While I was watching it, tho, I kind of thought, "wonder how he's doing with the cancer...." Kind of weird that it happened the next week. I'm glad that he's finally free of what must have been a very painful ordeal.

I'll always remember him as Orry Main in North and South. (Is that a Swedish thing?)
Don't recall much of the other movies I've seen with him like Dirty Dancing, Ghost and Roadhouse.
Point Break was okay. Remember that one since it's a Kathryn Bigelow movie.

Johnny Castle was superb in Dirty Dancing.
Dalton kicked as in Road house.
Sam Wheat was lovable in Ghost.
Bodie was awesome in PointBreak.
But patrick was a great man in life,and a hero,still,in death.

How very sad. He was a fantastic actor. He will certainly be missed. 'Dirty Dancing' has, is, and will always be one of my all-time favorite films. His death came as a real shock to me. I had thought he was getting better - not worse! I guess that's how it is with cancer, though. It can get worse so quickly.
Tonight, my friend Johnny and I are having a Patrick Swayze movie marathon. We're watching Dirty Dancing, Point Break, Ghost and possibly Donnie Darko. (He has a small role he had in that later film, but a great one!)

Correction on my post above. Swayze's book is called "The Time Of My Life," and is available for pre-order at Amazon.com in hardback and cd for those who prefer audio. Delivery is listed as 9/29, which seems awful soon, but, given the inevitability of pancreatic cancer, Swayze probably planned it this way. That would be his style.
