I dont think its fair comparing one of Americas worst serial killers to an actress who openly admits to hunting deer.

Yes, PETA loves animals but do you know who else loved animals?, the Nazis
No Im not comparing PETA to Nazis im just saying its a bit extreme labeling someone a mass murderer because you've tried hunting
 
I don't like that Eliza hunts. But calling her a serial killer is too much. 🙁 Plus, she's not a serial killer or sex offender. 🙁
 
I've said before that PETA would probably outright condemn both shows, just on the grounds of all of the leather that the stars wear. Anyone who advocates wearing plastic and calling it "pleather" can't be too bright anyhow. And in defense of hunters and hunting (I don't hunt, but I'm the only male in my family past the age of 10 who doesn't, at least occasionally) as long as the hunter either eats what they shoot or gives it to someone who does, how is that any different from buying a hamburger at McDonald's? Both involve killing animals. Humans have converted so much of the natural habitat to residential or industrial use AND killed off or displaced so many of the natural predators that hunting is the only viable method of keeping the animal population in balance with their available food sources. Also, hunters, through the cost of their licenses and the tax paid on hunting supplies, contribute almost 90% of the money used to support federal and local wildlife management, which benefits ALL wildlife, not just game animals.

PeTA has a small budget, and makes the most out of it. They are outrageous, but they get their point across. I thought the comment was funny and obviously not to be taken literally.

Eating meat is wrong, even if someone from the Buffyverse does it. Sorry. So Faith, hunt demons, not deer.

I second that Mr. Goby! I have more love for PETA (as at least it serves a purpose) than some of those vegans I have ran into. Please! I really dislike some of them. Beg me to give you a ride home from work and then decline the offer stating you cannot sit on leather seats. There is nothing at ALL wrong with being a vegetarian- or a vegan, if you so desire, but the minute your veganess prevents you from taking my offer, after already changing my plans for you, and driving 20 minutes out of the way to do you a favor versus calling a cab and spending who knows how much? But.. anyway, I will descend the box as well.
 
I dont have karma since Im on my phone but I disagree that eating meat is wrong. Anyone done any real research into PETA? I dont care what size budget they have. The majority of their money is NOT spent on saving animals. They put down far more animals then they save. And how is comparing someone to a serial killer ever supposed to be funny?

PETA is more than just eating meat.. its about learning how to ethically eat meat.. you know- proper dining habits and all. Knife in the right hand, elbows off the table and chew with your mouth closed and what not. As long as you eat meat ethically there really is no problem.

It is a well know fact that deers are pacifists by nature. In fact, according to recent polls, one in 5 deer are converting to Buddhism. Great, now I am hearing Incubus- Pardon Me.

BTW, although I am a vegetarian, and have been for over 10 years, I am pro-hunting (rifle only, not bow hunting). Crazy, right? Well not really....

I know that this planet will never be 100% vegetarian. I live in a very rural area on top of a mountain. I see how deer and bear live, and how factory farm cattle live down in the big city. Even cattle that graze where I live still spend horrific weeks at the feed lot before they are killed. 99.9% of all cows suffer terribly during their life. If one is going to eat meat, every deer hunted and killed with a bullet to the heart means one less cow that has to suffer.

Eating factory cows is evil. Hunting is evil too, but less evil. So I guess I'm choosing the lesser of two evils. 🙁

Where do you get the stat that 99.9% of all cows suffer terribly in their life. Theres not even a way to know that. Reputable farms use painless slaughter methods.

Completely agree, hun.

I've been a vegetarian but I would never claim that eating meat is wrong. Purely physically speaking if it were 'wrong' our bodies wouldn't need or be able to digest it.

Most cows lead miserable lives. One of my best friends runs a 100,000 acre ranch with 1,000+ free range cows. They graze and lead wonderful lives... until it's time to gather them and sell them to the meat packing company. They are put into trucks and sent to a horrific place to get fat for the next 3-4 weeks, where they are inhumanely killed. And most cows don't live on 100,000 acre ranches. It simply is not profitable.

BTW, my comments are not meant to "preach," although they may come across that way. I just hope at least one person will think about that burger they put into their mouth today. Or one person will chose the bean and cheese burrito at Taco Bell instead of the Burrito Supreme. Oh, and I haven't even discussed the environmental impact of eating meat. It's the worst thing humans do to the environment.
