Pets, anyone?

You know, I was allergic to cats until we got our first one. It took about 3 months, but I finally built up an immunity to her. Pretty much meaning, my eyes stopped watering and my nose stopped running, but I still can't let her rub on my face or I break out in hives. She has a bad dander problem and we are to poor to afford the expensive vet food to fix it.

I have two kitties. My husband and I are those people who have pets instead of kids. lol. We dote on our pets.

Anyway, the oldest one is named Morgan. She's a black cat who's missing some fur around the eyes. We found her in the street when we were moving my husband out of his bachelor pad and into our first shared apartment. She was just a kittten... and she was skinny and screaming for food. We gave her cheese. Then, we took her home. She's really smart -- so smart that she actually plays fetch and comes when called! We talk to her as if she's a person. Morgan is especially fond of me. She gets jealous when I pay attention to the other cat -- or to my hubby. lol. She has an allergy to fish, which means we have to give her special sensitive systems cat food or else she throws up. Also, when we had her fixed, the vet said he found three extra ovaries. Morgan's a bit of a freak. My sister-in-law is convinced that she's an alien. 🙂

The younger one is named Chaps. We got her from the rescue pet center in Petsmart. She's white with black splotches. Like a Moo-Cow. When she was a kitten, she had pink cheeks. They looked like they were chapped, hence the name. She's also fluffy and a little fat. It's adorable. Her little sides jiggle when she trots away. Chaps is stupid. Really stupid. We've had her for about two years now, but she still can't understand the concept of glass. Morgan likes to sit on top of our glass tables in order to goad Chaps into trying to scratch her through the glass -- thereby bumping her nose in the process. She's also retained her high-pitched kitten meow and her rambunctiousness. Some of that rambunctiousness comes out as kind of bi-polar, though. She liked to play fight, but with claws. Ick. One minute, she wants you to pet her. The next, it is ON, man! lol. Because of the attitude, we don't talk to her as much. Mostly, we just play with her and cuddle with her. Chaps, well, she's slow, but adorable!

They both like to watch nature shows on the TV, especially Planet Earth. They hate each other and love to fight, although they'll stick together and cuddle when they're in an unfamiliar environment. They have their favorite people, their favorite toys, etc. Mostly, we treat them as if they were our kids.

Oops I forgot to mention two other horses I used to own. Chance a 4 year old Quarter horse gelding and Rocky the 12 year old psychotic Paint gelding. These two were the first two horses I ever owned. Chance was abused by his previous owner and I rehabilitated. When I got him he didn't trust humans. You couldn't catch him let alone put a halter or bridle on him. Rocky was a psycho paint or paint horse from hell as I called him. He was supposed to have been broke when I got him. He was to be my pony horse but wasn't. He spooked at everything and anything. Everyone at the race track told me to get rid of him before he killed me though they were getting a pretty good laugh. But stubborn me of course I was determined to ride him. I spent more time getting ran off with, bucked off, etc. Some days he was good as gold other days you didn't know which he was going to do. I finally gave up on making him a pony horse and, sold him to a friend of mine who trains horses, after the last spill that left me with not just wounded pride but almost a broken arm (it was badly bruised).

Well, way back since childhood I always had various pets, among them were even hedgehog, quite large family of hamsters, Dutch bunny, three parakeets, etc. Right now, I've got fat and fluffy Persian cat (peach-colored), a vivid friendly, very outgoing rat (black with white belly) , and one fresh-water turtle.
Cat is more of a pillow-type - she never minds being pampered and completely ignores the rat.
Rat loves travelling around the house residing on my shoulder and never bites.

When I was little like around 8 or 9, we had a frog living in our house and he was massive. We actually had him for years and he kind of turned into our pet, we managed to hand train him, although he only ever liked me. lol. Later on it turned out that he was actually a she. But we called him... her... shim?... lol. It's name was Rex.

At the moment I only have 7 fish - Buffy, Willow, Xander, Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Mickey and Minnie. But we are planning on getting a kitten in either Febuary or March, and I'm very excited. I've only ever had older cats before.

A cat, female Mackerel Tabby just over old, named Alexandra.

Originally it was going to be Alex (Xander) if it was a boy and Tara if it was a girl. We went to the animal shelter and the guy said it was a boy but at the time the litter had Cat Flu, so I had a to wait a few days.

We went back and the guy who usually works there was back, knows more about Cats and told us it was a girl.

So since I'd already picked Alex it was just changed from Alexander to Alexandra.

I had 2 Goldenfishes about 8 years ago. I liked them very much because each time I entered the room they were watching me. I miss them...

There were the only pets I had, though I dream about having a cat...

I have three cats and a dog. My cat is named Isis Mesektet - she's black with gold eyes, and insanely creepy but weirdly lovey. My sister's cat is named Reese's Pieces - she's white with brownish spots. She has these really wide sweet eyes and the cutest meow ever. She looks really Egyptian.

And there is...THE SQUIDG. She's technically my boyfriend's cat. Her full name is Squidget Spaz - her middle name was given by me, because this freakin' cat is on crack. She's calico [orange, black and white] with green eyes and adorable as all hell, but INSANE. SERIOUSLY.

And my puppy...Kodiak Oz. He's a shepherd/husky mix. He's black with warm brown eyes. He's kind of dumb, no lie, but he's a sweetheart and and huge attention whore. He's really possessive, though, and tends to have an evil streak.

I WOULD have a cat only everyone in my family are allergic to pretty much all animals except me!!!!🙁

We have three cats. Two boys and a girl. And yes, we do treat them like they are our children. Hehe. Especially the youngest as he seems to have fully fallen into the role of the baby of the family.
There's the girl, Lucky who's the older. She's extremely small and dainty and basically spends most of her days giving humans and cats alike looks that say 'I'm better than you'. We got her by chance. She was thrown out of a car when she was just a kitten and when we found her she had eye and ear infections and was just so tiny and ill. But we took her to the vet, loved her, fussed her and now, years on, she's very healthy. Hence why we named her Lucky- because it was Lucky we found her.
Tom, the middle child, haha. Ginger and white and basically the fluffball. He has a look of an old man from China in his face. It's so cute. Speds his time lazing around on my side of the bed, with his head on my pillow- ridiculous I know- and hiding in places to jump out on Lucky. We didn't find him, he found us. One day we looked in the garden and Lucky was playing with a ginger kitten. Let the kitten in, but thought it had a home to go to put him outside. He just kept coming back and in the end he just stayed. Haha. Which is why he ended up with the name Tom. Because, well, we thought he had an owner so we just called him the Tom Cat and well, I guess it stuck.
Finally, the youngest, Leo. He may be the youngest and the baby constantly wanting to be fussed, but he's defintely the biggest. The size of a labrador puppy. Dear God, I hear you gasp. And he spends his time sitting on every available space in the living room and demanding we feed him prawns 24/7. He has also learnt the word. The moment you say it, his ears perk up and he runs, literally runs, to the kitchen. We now have to spell out the word. It's ridiculous! haha

a dog LuLu, a dog Anya, a cat Phoenix. They are our indoor pets. A cat Angel and a cat Illyria, they are our *rescued type* outdoor cats.

I know it sounds absurd now, what with all the "pit bulldog" attacks you see on the news these days, but 20 years ago, Pits and Staffordshires were considered unsuitable to serve as watch dogs because they were so friendly.

Pit Bulls (so I have learned recently) really do get a bad rep because of people who are stupid and don't take care of their animals and train them right. My bf raises and trains American Bulldogs, which are like pits but a little bigger (he used to own pits but now he has the bulldogs) and his dog Lucy is the nicest, friendliest dog ever. When the meter guy comes for the electric co, they come into the back yard or whatnot and she usually has to be put up because she won't leave the guy alone long enough for him to do his job, she wants to play with him and jump on him instead. Anywhoo...I digress

I have a pit bull/who knows what else mutt puppy named "charlie" He's really cute and sweet, but likes to chase my son's feet and try and steal his socks when he's crawling on the floor...it's funny

I was deprived as a child. I've never had a pet despite being a total lover of animals. I love cats and dogs but my mum hates any kind of animal. My granddad used to have 2 budgies, one was green and one was blue. Even though they were technically not my pets, since we never brought them to our house, mine was the green one and my brother had the blue one. Mine was the most unfriendly bird ever!! It only ever got on my hand once and that was to re-leave himself on my hand. As a 7 year old child I was hysterical at the act lol

I have a yorkie named Kira. She's 11 years old and she's a *real* terrier, i.e. she's really sweet as long as you don't mess with her and when she says no there's no way of changing her mind.

She has a flattened windpipe, it doesn't hurt her but because of it she can grunt like a little piglet! Its the cutest!!!

Meet Kira!

Edit:

Well, that was taken on mobile - the very first day I've brought the Turtle - A'Tuinn - home. Attile - the Cat - went all curious, yet very cautiopus on unknown beast. She was near A'tuinn whole day. I got aquarium for Turtle the next day.

Later, that evening:

We're not allowed to have a dog or a cat at this house, which is really depressing. 🙁

We had a lot of cats when I was a kid. Our first 2 were Magic and Baby, brother and sister, part Siamese. Magic was black and Baby was a blue tabby colored (dad cat was a stray barn cat). Magic was with us for almost 20 years. We finally had to take him in because I couldn't handle 3 kids and 2 cats. He was my mom's cat and after she died he was kind of out of it. Then he started scratching my 2yo and that was it--he was gone. I loved him to death and we grew up together but he was hurting my child and I couldn't deal with that. At the time we also had this fluffy black cat called Folly. She was about 8 years old and went to the shelter too. She was the kookiest cat every--absolutely terrified of storms and always wanted to go outside but was scared of everything, lol.

Last May we got to puppies for the kids--chocolate labs. They are named Labonte and Sadler (after my middle kids' favorite Nascar drivers). But then we had to move and my dad didn't want any dogs here. They live with my sister in law now and as much as I don't like dogs, I really miss them, lol. They were so cute. I bet they are huge now--they'll be one in March.
