So the shoe company that I am taking over has three different versions of pink athletic shoes/trainers... and I am already fighting an uphill battle. Do women (adult women) actually wear pink trainers? Enough to have three different versions?

Chicks of BB... look down at your feet... do you have pink shoes on? Inquiring minds want to know.

Three different versions seems excessive, but my sister only bought me these shoes because she absolutely loooooved them and wanted them for herself (but her feet were too big) so yes, adult women do wear pink trainers/really want to wear pink trainers. Think pink! 😉

Not an adult woman. At times I wear pink shoe laces though. Just one at a time because well my weirdness must show somehow.
 
Are you talking about actual training shoes, or the kind of trainers people wear with casual clothes? I, personally, wouldn't buy pink shoes for casual wear as they would clash with pretty much everything I wear from the socks and up. Shoes bought for exercise, though, can be slime green for all I care, as long as they fit.

Edit, to comment on the photo: I could wear something like that.
 
I think I am outside the usual when it comes to the training shoes. Looking around me, it is very clear that good-looking training gear is important to a lot of people.

Hm. I think I'll head out for the season's very first run this evening. I haven't had any sort of motivation for cardio exercise since forever, now I suddenly want to. Then I'll try that tying technique for the laces as well.

That is a problem I am having with a selection of their men's shoes. I am wearing them to 'demo' and see if there are any issues and I wore them out in the public the other day and didn't realize until it was too late. I looked down at my hobbittses and I thought oh crap what am I wearing.

The clashing is a big issue for me.
 
I own a LOT of shoes. Right now, my running shoes (I have two pairs, one for on my elliptical and one for outdoors wear) and both are primarily white, but that wasn't on purpose - I bought the most comfortable and supportive for the cheapest amount! I know a LOT of women that wear pink or pink accented shoes for exercise. I wouldn't care too much if I was using them for running, but for actual casual wear I would want shoes with more generic colors because I have a thing with matching.
 
My problem is that sometimes a pink trainer is all I can find when looking for women's trainers. I have a pair of trainers for walking and they are grey with pink 'bits' all over. I'd rather they were just grey.

It just seemed sexist... 3/4's of the women's shoe have pink in them or are full-blown pink. But I guess I was making a molehill into a mountain.

I hate it. I try to leave "women's" out of searches just so I don't get pink.
Pink trainers? Sure why not. 🙂
I tend to like bright colours like hot pink, lime green, day-glow orange on my 'work' trainers, and cooler blue/black ones for casual wear.
I always think bright colours like hot pink look better for sporty/workout things- like its more 'fun' somehow.

Maybe instead of concentrating the style (or not) of the hot pink colour, emphasise them as a way of being an individual. Could that work?

I think flipflops can be whatever color you want to rock. Is there a therapeutic pattern on the bottom of the flipflops or just a design?

Oh that reminds me - speaking of work trainers, I use steel toecaps for work and yet because they're women's size they're pink. I can't escape it.

I've had steel toe capped shoes that are plain black, and seen non pink trainers too

I know I have pink shoes, but I do hate that a lot of women's styles are pink. Like I told you, I only have these cause they were a gift. I wouldn't have bought them for myself, at least I wouldn't lest they were really cheap. So I don't think you were making a mountain. I don't mind color in my running shoes, but I prefer to have other options than pink.
