Places you'd love to live, and what's stopping you?

If you're young, it is apparently super easy to get working visas/backpacking for Australia. Tis a legit option for those who wana give it a go. The current Spainish barmaid couldn't believe how simple it was for her.

Plenty of people seem to stay on permanently after as well - provided they maintain employment connections here. About a quarter of my town came from the UK recently. I think most from the US would be quite unimpressed by the reality of Oz though, especially outside of east coast cities (where the visas would take ya).

Be warned though, our cost of living is so high, the good wages wont cover as much as you think.
 
The dead from the volcanic eruption on White Island, New Zealand have been cared for, the injured are being transferred to various hospitals.
Personally I was under threat of evacuation due to a bushfire nearby for a few hours yesterday (11/12/2019).

Wrong thread? I've been under bushfire advice for a week. Watch and acts happened more for me in perth, even though this town would go up in a heartbeat from an ember.

I'm not in perth anymore but had a heck of a lot more fire worries up there due to arson (cars being lit on fire,meth lab explosions etc).

Being under bushfire advice means there is a fire near by and to stay updated. I cant wait for my burnt feet to heal so I can tidy those dry leaves in the garden. If I ever get embers and ash raining on this place like I did in perth, It'd go up in flames in an instant!
 
I just want to live on an island somewhere tropical, peacefully away from most of society. Of course though I don't have $$$ to live that kind of life... though I wouldn't be trying to live luxuriously. I think once I get enough saved up I'm gonna just buy a one way ticket and never look back.
