The first thing I want to state is that I am doing this absolutely of my own accord and am speaking for only myself.
I wish to remind the members here of something that I am slowly getting fed up with, and that I feel needs to be addressed. This board was created as a place to have friendly and intelligent discussions about Buffy and Angel. Yet, all I see is an increasing amount of rudeness and disrespect by members to other members. It is wrong, and as we get the reports, we wade through them to the best of our ability. We get alot of them. Noone here knows what it is like to be a mod here until they are one. I learned that quite quickly when I was promoted and I want to share that knowledge with you.
Contrary to popular belief, this board is not my entire life. I work one 8 hour job and another freelance job. I have a husband. And I donate my time to this place as a courtesy to each and every one of you members. Yes, I post here for fun. But when I'm sorting out member complaints and putting things where they need to go, I'm not doing it for me-I'm doing it for the boards members. There are 11 moderators here to 3,934 members. Yet we do our best to listen to everyone here and make this place a fun place to be.
The moderators donate their time and the admins donate their money to this place, and I'll be DAMNED if any of us are going to be disrespected simply because we don't jump fast enough. We are doing the best we can and we would hope that the members would work with us to make this a better place.
For all of you who have been sitting patiently through a time of stress here at the boards, this is not directed at you. But for the others, I feel that you need to understand what goes into our jobs. We are not picking favorites, but noone can be in a million places at once.
