This is the recap I wrote up for after-darkness 🙂
This episode opens with Christina having dinner with the Kramers. Meg asks her about searching for her mother, and Christina tells her that she found out her grandfather was the groundskeeper at the church and that she is going back there the next day to try and find out more. The Kramers' dog starts barking at Christina. They tell her about the upcoming Heritage festival and the boat parade contest their family usually enters, and they invite her to join them.
Christina's 'father' (Kingston) and Boyd are talking. Boyd calls Point Pleasant Christina's training ground before they enleash her on the rest of the world. Kingston says there is good in her, and that if she finds her mother (who is named Ann) she could have a chance. Boyd says it's their job to make sure that doesn't happen.
We then see Christina back in PP - Boyd approaches her. She asks if she knows him, and he replies, 'Not yet.'
Christina and Judy go to the beach, and Judy is telling her about all the local kids. Jesse comes over and talks to them. Paula looks on jealously then storms off; Terry goes after her.
Amber and Jesse's mom decide to go welcome the new guy in town - Boyd.
Paula tells Terry that Christina is after Jesse. He tries to kiss her, but she pulls away.
Christina goes to the church and meets Father Thomas. They comment on the broken stained glass window. Christina asks if anyone was hurt when it broke, and he says no. She asks him about her grandfather and he looks him up in the church records for her. He tells her they left in 1987 (the year she was born). She tells him about the bad things happening to people who are around her, and asks him about the 666 symbol in the church pew. He says he doesn't know what it is.
Amber and Sarah bring a gift basket to Boyd. Boyd pays lots of attention to Sarah (after he finds out she's from the Church) and ignores Amber, which annoys her.
Meg goes to visit Isabelle's grave, and there are dead crows all around it. We see Father Thomas talking to another priest, Father David, saying, "It's starting." Father David dismisses him. Father Thomas says the person who started the church, Father Jefferies, had visions of a girl coming to PP.
Jesse's dad comes home early and asks Sarah (accusingly) about her visiting Boyd. Apparently she's had an affair in the past.
Meg tells Ben she's ready to sleep with him again.
Amber goes to visit Boyd and invites him to the party at her house for the festival. He asks her if she's planning for them to have sex now or later. He then calls her an fading prom queen and tears her down as being predicatable.
Jesse sees Christina at the marina. She tells him that she thinks Father Thomas was hiding something from her in her grandfather's file. He says he'll help her get a look at it. They break into the church that night. They find out that her mother came to the church for counseling because she was pregnant. They sent her to a doctor, and it turns out she was a virgin. Father Thomas comes in but doesn't catch them.
In the car, Christina is upset. She thinks her mother was trying to fake immaculate conception (lol). She tells him she thinks there's something wrong with her. He comforts her. They kiss. He tells her he hasn't been able to think straight since she arrived. He says, "What are you doing to me?" And she spooks and tells him she can't and runs away.
At their party, both Amber and Paula are dateless.
We see Father Thomas and Father David talking about someone breaking in. Father David says no one has seen the writing of Father Jefferies for years.
Christina is walking down the road when Boyd pulls up. She thinks her father sent him to watch her. He tells her it's okay that she likes it when bad things happen. She gets mad and makes the headlights of his car break. She tuns down the road as we hear dogs barking.
Father David goes down into a dusty room. He finds a loose plate in the floor. He finds a tablet with the 666 symbol on it and an old book with a cross on it - Father Jeffries' prophecies.
Christina has dreams of the town filled with dead people.
Father David calls Ben Kramer and leaves a message on his voicemail that they may be in some danger. He gets in a car and speeds off to the festival to look for Ben. Boyd is watching.
That night at the festival, Jesse tells Christina they need to talk. She says she thinks it's best if he stays away from her. Hurt, he agrees that they should keep their distance. He tells her she looks beautiful.
Amber doesn't show up at their boat. Terry has removed a spark plug from the Kramers' boat, and tells Paula to not say he's never done anything for her.
Ben gets a 911 page and goes to leave. Meg is hurt because they were supposed to have a 'date'.
At Ben's office, Amber is there, naked. He asks her to get dressed. She becomes upset saying that how she looks is all she's been good at. She comes on to him. He pushes her away and she falls against a file cabinet. She insinuates she could blackmail him now.
Father David is at the Kramers' boat looking for Ben, but no one is there. We see a rope come loose amd the boat is adrift. The priest gets tangled in a rope and hoisted into the air. As we see Paula's boat go by in the parade, in the background is the Kramers' boat in flames. Christina sees something in the flames. Boyd comes up behind Christina and says, "Now that's the most authentic piece of Point Pleasant history I've seen all day." Christina fishes a piece of old parchment out of the water, with the 666 symbol and the numbers 6,6, and 6 written below it.
