Pop Culture References in Buffy & Angel

Angel - Sleep Tight:

The Flying Nun

ANGEL: I like nuns. How did the flying nun fly anyway? Was it God or - magic? What? You think about these things sometimes.

Holy moly, there are so many!

I'll have to think on this and post later..

There used to be a great site called THE BUFFY AND ANGEL TRIVIA GUIDE which had absolutely every, single reference on it

Somewhere in Angel the series there is a reference to the X-files, something about which one is Scully and which one is Mulder.

Or am I dreaming this? Can someone ID this episode for me? I thought for sure it was in Angel somewhere...

Someone must know.

YES! There is! I'm sure I've seen that too, but all a Google search pulls up is BtVS/X-Files crossover fan fiction....

We can't both be dreaming it....

You're not its Kate's Cop buddy in Sanctuary who makes the reference based on her suddenly believing and she picks him up on the fact than Mulder was actually the believer. The Buffy X-Files reference is in the Pack.

Always nice to know you're not crazy! Thanks Mr. Trick.
In 'Intervention' when Buffy goes on the spirit quest and the cougar comes out she says 'Hello Kitty"

When Joyce asks that Buffy take Dawn to the Magic Shop Dawn mentions about not going to Hogwarts. Think it's in ep2 maybe of season 5

Spike/Randy calls Giles Mary Poppins in Tabula Rasa.

In Apocalypse, Nowish Cordy is watching a movie that she used to watchwhen she was a child and she doesn't remember the title. She thinks it's "pod people" or "mutant pod mushrooms".

She is remembering two different movie titles: Pod People (Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and Matango (Curse of the Mushroom People/Attack of the Mushroom People).

On another note, Matango the mushroom is a character in the comics (S10).

In Habeas Corpses Gunn says that the "Big Bad Wolf can just stride in and suck the energy out of Evil Red Riding Hood. "

In IWRY, Cordelia tells Doyle:

Cordy: "Oh, they'll be into this for a while. We still have time for a cappuccino and probably the director's cut of 'Titanic'."

Later when they are in the sewers looking for the Mohra demon, Buffy says:

Buffy with a sigh: "I know. I do, too. I mean, I only came to see you so I could tell you face-to-face not to see me - face-to-face anymore, - and I know there is a fly in the logic ointment here somewhere, but.. The next thing I knew we're being attacked by this mutant ninja demon thing, and then we're on the floor on top of each other, and it's just really confusing being around you."

This refers to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a popular comic character and movie.

I love Cordy's line
In Soulless, Angelus sings his version of Teddy Bear's Picnic: If you go into the woods tonight...

In the same episode, Angelus mentions Riders of the Lost Ark.

I might be wrong on this one but in AtS S3E19 "The Price", I'm pretty sure that when Groo goes to carry Fred to the hospital, Gunn says "Put her down Slater", which may be a Saved by the Bell reference?

Long shot, I know. Bit of a guess really...

In Smashed, Spike threatens to kill a limited edition, 1979 mint condition Boba Fett action figure.

Think this is the ep they talk about Britsh tv too, Doctor Who and Red Dwarf?
