So once again Twitter is full of celebs fired up over President Trump, so what's the truth? Is it that he's carried out the promises he made during the elections or is he actually making America worse? It's been a year now since he's been in office and the UK media doesn't really talk about him now, or no more than any other President really. However social media seems full of stories about him.

The only thing that I've really seen is that the environment seems to not be important.

SKY news talks about President Trump almost every single day, and its mostly got a negative slant to it. If he tweets, if there's some protest against him, if he actually gets something done (rare) then they're there to put the worst spin on it possible. Sometimes that's pretty easy though.

I mean, I get that Trump is at war with the media over there but I'd expect the British press to be a bit more objective.


And on the whole I don't listen to celebs talking about politics, whichever side they take. I don't object to it but to me they know no more or less than anyone else.

Here in the States we are bombarded every second with controversies over things he said and did or didn’t do. I don’t even like Trump , but even I’m sick of this mass hysteria. Seriously whenever he farts there’s 10 news outlets discussing it.

Overall - I think there to a large degree a certain amount of apathy that those in opposition to Trump have taken in the wake of his election. I have largely stayed away from the CNNs and the MSNBCs because there is no use talking in circles about what the man is doing. I personally am more focused on local elections and giving money and support to electing more progressive candidates into the House and Senate so that they might be able to block any crazy plans he puts forth. It does me no use to bitch about all of the damage that Trump is doing if I can't do anything about him.

I havent gone a single day online without trump appearing somewhere. Usually being mocked and ridiculed. I dont mind seeing the odd polly made fun of, but Ive never witnessed anything on the level that Trump has penetrated. It got too much for me a year ago. Its why I dont do twitter at all. And partially why I dont go on fb anymore either. So maybe he has been a good influence on me 😛

No matter what the numbers say, I don't think the country is improving. I think, as is the case with any president, some things are getting better and others are getting worse. And though I don't think he's done anything completely horrible, (since he was elected) I certainly wouldn't be surprised if he did.

The war with the media is stupid. So many people would tolerate him more if he didn't just fire shots at anyone he can on twitter. As far as the media tracking everything he does, that's partially because he's president, but also because he's created an environment where it's encouraged to use the media for everything.

My personal opinion of Trump is that he should try less to be great and more to be adequate. I don't think he's a good person, but he would be a better president if he stopped trying to prove he was a good person. Most importantly as long as he doesn't do anything to affect me, people I care about, or a cause I feel strongly about, I don't think flat out hating him is necessary.

I wonder if twitter is showing us people at their worst for posterity (because they publicly show themselves that way without pausing to reflect on it while in a bad head space that we all can get caught up in at times), or if twitter is showing people (and the movements and ideology they espouse) as they really are as they inevitably forget at times to tailor their message for the rest of the world beyond their echo chamber.

In the former case then humanity is better off without it, but in the second case it's a depressing reminder of what people are like deep down which makes me think the cylons have the right idea.

I hate politics and try to avoid them, BUT...I've noticed that the media and many celebrities will say/do anything to disparage Trump. It's just ridiculous and pathetic. I don't love OR hate the man; he's the President. But I like his attitude, and the way he doesn't suck up to the left-wing layabouts. His presence on Twitter cracks me up....he's pretty much giving the finger to 90% of the world. 😀 And he's super rich already, so he doesn't need celebrity-studded fundraisers like Obama did. Nor do you see Trump on late night talk shows every other week...no, that was Obama's thing.

Trump's Twitter rants amuse me. Hell, he's the President. If he wants to shout at the world and put people on blast, good for him. Sic 'em, boy!

Trump keeps saying he is supporting America, but when withdrawing from the various trade groups he says they haven't got American interests at heart.
Of course they haven't they have their own countries interests at heart.
So now America is losing trading partners. What happens when Walmarts can't get cheap Chinese products to sell.
When the Walmarts begin to close its stores how many Americans will lose their jobs.
And Trump giving the finger to 90% of the world, what happens when America asks for help?
Oh by the way, Trump has been in office for over a year how much of the Wall on the Mexican border has been built?

Not just the news media and the celebrities, but practically the entire Democrat Party seems to be acting like a bunch of spoiled children who didn't get their way. It doesn't matter what Trump says or does, they seem determined to pout and resist it, even the things that they, themselves, want and support. Their behavior at the televised State Of The Union address should be nothing short of embarrassing for everyone who voted for them. The whole theory of a bipartisan Congress is that the two opposing ideologies can come together and find a common ground. By refusing to even take part in what's going on, the Democrats are illustrating just how little they really care about the people who elected them.

America is about $19,000,000,000,000 in debt and has commitments for government pensions and medicare that bring this number up to $100,000,000,000,000. How sensible is a tax cut? I thought the conservative political view is that you pay down debt, not just to reduce the cost of borrowing but to maintain sovereignty. If China were to come along and say, "We will forgive all your debt to us if you give us Taiwan", America would have to consider it because once you are in debt, your house is not your home and your country is up for grabs.

Trump is interested in Trump and his billionaire friends. If things get better or worse for anyone else, so be it. Quite how anyone outside of that small circle could be genuinely happy to have him representing them is completely beyond me. The sheer volume of bs that comes from his mouth is mind boggling.

Trump, a two-bit celebrity who's main strenght is riling up people on Twitter actually won. Before that he had a lot of fun poking at politicis, weighing in with all his celebrity knowledge, critiquing Obama when he was president... clearly it's a winning strategy in this climate. Unless someone's been nuked by then, I'm thinking it'll be more like Rose McGowan 2024! Or Alyssa Milano! Maybe that's the Charmed reboot we'll get 😉
