Personally, I'm shocked these are already out, considering the last issue has only been released last week. HM.
 
"The Queen is Dead" ? huh? ; also Angel wouldn't be the one who betrays Buffy I hope, I meanh he cain't. I would be so dissapointed in his character; and dawn is she dead? I hope not I was just starting to like her character for once and though her and Xander would be cute together, I mean it's not a secret since she joined the show she liked Xander. I hope she's not dead 🙁
I'm looking forward to this, just got caught up to issue #37 last night, and am hooked. Dissapointed angel is twilight though, didn't see that coming; and what's with this lion with wings thing calling Angel dad, and Buffy mom seriously who or what it is?

That, apparently, is the new universe or a manifestation thereof Angel and Buffy created.
 
Yeah, I don't know why they release so much dang stuff ahead of time, what's the point in paying for the issue?

I love the "Wow, this guy is really challenged by the major plot points". "He's not the only one". I think that's the fandom's conclusions as well LOL!

For a couple of issues it looked like he was clawing his way back and trying to make amends. Now, it looks like they are gona make him do something way worse. :(
I have to admit though, I am loving the hilarity that is the The Master. Even in the issue just gone and the way he stood stock still and bitched slapped Buffy and Spike about. Really funny.

No, it's pretty common for 5-6 page previews to be released ahead, but it's usually just a week before the issue is released. (And I'm still waiting for my X-Factor, CBR. Rah!)

Issue 37's preview was released 2 weeks ahead of release. I suppose it's to up the suspense.

Which apparently...is still killing Angel.

There will be Angel title in season 9, so Angel is safe from death but not safe from Joss.

Before they introduced Kitty Twilight, I thought that Joss would exploit the theme "Angel and power" again, but I never thought he'd bring Angel's daddy issues in such bizarre manner.
 
Buffy last had the Scythe in Retreat, when the goddess picked her up and dropped her. It wasn't there when she woke up.

I made a point of asking Scott Allie in a Q&A if she got the Scythe back after she woke up, and he responded with a definitive no. (At that time, I had the wild idea that it had merged with Buffy, like Nico and her staff in "Runaways," and that was why the powers of dead Slayers were channeling into her.)

But neither Faith nor Giles could have picked it up and taken it while Buffy was unconscious, since they were both taken prisoner by Twangel at that time.

We saw the Scythe in one panel in the last arc, when Giles is talking about the god-killing weapon he'd been looking for.

That, and the fact that Faith and Giles apparently have an agenda of their own that they were talking about last issue, makes me suspect that they are planning to use it to try to kill Buffy if she flakes out re: Twilight or the Seed.

I'm just wondering how and when Faith got it, and whether Buffy knows she has it.

I'm wondering if Faith would actually go through with Giles' wishes (if these are his wishes, of course).

I think killing Buffy is one of the very last things Faith would want to do. Similarly, if the need arises, would she kill Angel. After all he is a God too.
 
The fact that Faith has the Scythe now... and that Jo Chen's cover for #40 shows a crying Buffy holding the broken Scythe... makes me suspect that Faith will be killed in the coming battle.

Or even worse, that she and Buffy will fight and Buffy will have to kill her... though I really hope Joss doesn't do that to them after all they and their relationship have been through.
 
Ugh. Who the hell is that 'she' the Master keeps referring to?? And Dawn just got knocked out, she's not dead... I think.
