Got quite a few.

Borderland (2007) - 2/10

Aside from a pretty creepy/good opening, this movie was so boring. It’s one of those “8 films to die for” movies, about some drug cartel that performs human sacrifice. Sounds cool but the execution was terrible. I watched this because the cover of the dvd box always fascinated me ever since I was a kid. Instead I feel like I got completely suckered into watching a bad and clunky film.

Wolf Creek (2005) - 4/10

A movie that everybody always hypes up. This one is basically Texas Chainsaw meets Australia, but without anything really “wow” for me, aside from the head on a stick bit. That’s pretty much the only thing that stood out. The movie isn’t really “bad”…more just “eh”.

Green Room (2015) - 7/10

An enjoyable if middling film about a desperate band that gets a gig playing for a group of neo-nazis in the backwoods of Oregon. I wasn’t ever really “scared”, but the movie was entertaining and the villains are appropriately terrible people. Patrick Stewart gives a good performance in particular, and both Imogen Poots and the late Anton Yelchin are also good as our eventual “final” leads.
 
It was dire. I mean, incompetent and surprisingly disrespectful to the original.

I’m sure it’s not very good, but I’m guessing it’ll be for different reasons for, since I’m not that invested anyway.
Don’t forget the original to add to that Dawson’s Creek line was a “Rip off, of a rip off, of a rip off”?🤣
 
Jurassic World (2015) - 8/10
Just a super entertaining film, in a similar vein to the first one. Now, it doesn't have the same iconic feeling as the original and is more in vein with the action film of modern day, but it still deserves its due. Pratt and Dallas Howard are both brilliant in their roles and the pacing was just so, so good. Also, I tend not to think too much during films so I'm always caught off guard by a good twist, even the ones other film fans catch beforehand so, I genuinely loved the whole 'the one they didn't us about is raptor, its part raptor' and then the four turn on the humans, such a fricking good twist that seems obvious in hindsight. Cannot wait to see this again, this is in the number two spot for me, right behind the original film at no. 1.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) - 7.5/10
Almost as good as the last one, there were a few gripes here and there and the pacing wasn't as perfect, but it still had my attention and, once again, managed to throw a twist my way that I did not see coming but that was obvious in hindsight. All of those comments about Maisie, all the mystery around her mother, I loved the reveal and it also makes perfect sense, that cloning humans wouldn't be far behind once cloning begins in any manner.


Jurassic World Dominion (2022) - 8/10
Third place in the rankings, gorgeous in almost every way. Falls a step or two behind the 2015 one if only because it was a bit long and I thought it took a little too long before all the characters came together, but for the most part it did so many things right. Imo, this is how you do nostalgia baiting the right way.

More than ever, I cannot wait for the newest film! Can't believe it took me this long to watch all but the first one and I only disliked one of them!!!

Fallen Kingdom is flawed, but deserves a bit a more love than it gets. It at least has some new ideas.
I Know What You Did Last Summer: 7/10

I did end up watching it and I don't really have an attachment to the original but I thought this one was enjoyable, the movie version of Gen Z speech was good and it felt like the latest Scream movie but better and more entertaining- at least I liked it a lot more than the last Scream movie.

M3GAN (2022) - 7/10
It was a 6.5 for most of the film but the last five minutes made it jump up half a point. It was a fun flick, but definitely not as good as the hype made me think it would be. I don't see myself ever watching it a second time and I have no desire to watch reactions to it (which is telling for me, lol). But I am interested in the sequel, just to see if they did anything new or fresh to explain why we needed a second one.

Also, am I the only one who sees a young ScarJo in the face of the actress who plays Cady? So weird...
 
Holy Motors (2012) - 7.8/10
Going to give it an initial rating of 7.8, but like with most art house films, I need to rewatch a few times to rate it properly. I liked it though!

Love and Time Travel (2016) - 6/10
Wasn't terrible but I didn't really care for it all that much, and found myself bored with it quite a number of times.

Enchanted April (1991) - 8/10 A slow, meandering movie, with breathtaking Italian scenery, great acting, and surprisingly good character development, it felt a little magical at times. ♥️
 
Fantastic Four First Steps - 6/10

Other than the nifty retro aesthetic, this is just a copy paste Marvel movie. Maybe I’m just cynical or whatever but superhero movies just are not doing it for me anymore.

I’m scoring this higher than Superman just because I feel like there’s a much better visual direction here, but my thoughts on both are pretty similar. Just feels really…bland. Not bad, not good, just kind of a “there” movie that I will forget about in a week. It just feels like a very sterile and exceedingly safe movie, which is kind of blegh this far into the franchise.

Julia Garner is in it though, and good for her. Between Wolf Man, this, and that upcoming Weapons movie, she’s getting plenty of gigs.

For me, the current batch of superhero films are rarely better than an "Eh," so it is not just you being cynical. I am now going in expecting not to be wowed.
I watched Jurassic World: Rebirth
6.5/10.

As a fan of the series, I do love the hat-tipping moments to the original film. I love the main cast, some of the sequences, but the film was a little underwhelming, and felt disjointed.

Aside from that, the 'D-Rex' was ridiculous, the family on the boat should've only been on screen for the boat attack, and then dropped off somewhere to be rescued. The comedy at times fell flat, and scenes you really find it difficult to suspend your disbelief.

T-Rex has the strongest bite force of all animals - and apparently couldn't puncture a life raft. Come on.

Not only did they completely alter the genre from horror/comedy in the first one, to this being some weird action/spy/thriller thing, but they also gave Megan a completely unbelievable redemption arc. The first one wasn't even good enough to ruin it this bad with the second. Please don't give us a third!
 
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019) - ?/10
Whatever I gave the 2nd one, this one gets; it was just as bad. Just as boring. Just as few good scenes. I'm really disappointed after hearing so many great things about the franchise, so it'll probably take me a while to get to the next one, again. I really just want to get through it so I can watch Ballerina 😀

Planet of the Vampires (1965) - 8/10
This was such a dazzling movie! While it is a bit clunky in parts, it's also atmospheric, and very visually stunning! I was quite impressed with the visuals considering it's a low budget retro Sci-fi. The acting is about what I would expect from that era, the voice dubbing is quite obvious and
I counted a total of zero vampires in this movie (they were more like zombies)
Nevertheless, I was very entertained!

The Thirteenth Floor (1999) - 8.7/10
This one is very good! Lesser known, and very overshadowed by The Matrix, but is likely of equal or greater quality IMO. I was enraptured the whole time! 😍

I’ve heard nothing positive about this film and it seemed to have died almost instantly. No long social media legs like the first movie.

I think the best sign of the movie’s quality is the horrible popcorn buckets they made for it are selling so poorly that my local Cinemark literally has them on clearance, lol.

The biggest mistake they made was releasing it during the busy summer season IMO. If they released it in September it would've done solid business probably.
