The Cosmic Man (1959) - 5/10

Cosmos: War of the Planets (1977/78) - 2.5/10
This is probably the most hilariously bad movie I have ever watched. From the dismal acting and poor dialogue, to the cheesy sound effects, and goofy radiator monster, this is truly a must be seen to be believed type of movie. I was laughing so hard at certain parts that I had tears. That's right, real, genuine, tears. 🤣
Cosmic Love anyone??
This is a must watch for every B movie Sci-fi fan.
 
Jason and the Argonauts (1963) 10/10

I was compelled to rewatch this after reminiscing about the Golden Voyage of Sinbad. (And I'm so glad I did) Wow, I'd nearly forgotten how great this film is! And holy crap, the stop motion animation was amazing. The acting was surprisingly good as well.

When the giant statue of Talos came to life, I actually had chills. I've seen this film several times over the years, but Talos always makes me freeze.

Frankenstein 1/5

Utter garbage. A compelling tale reduced to a basic jealousy story.

Jacob Elordi, the guy who plays the monster is good, but that is about it.

The others acting is awkward and stilted.

Elisabeth’s reaction to the monster is just ”aaaaabs” followed by some kind of flaccid romance where she falls for him when he has the mind of a child… yikes. And then is not even amazed that he has acquired the gift of speech.

All in all, too long, cheap violence, and a storyline reduced to petty nonsense.

Also, CGI candles? Looked as cheap as the rest of the movie felt

Night of the Comet (1984) - 9/10
Simply, one of the best movies of all time as far as I'm concerned. 😍

Nirvana (1997) - 7.8/10
A way cool Italian cyberpunk movie!

The Creation of the Humanoids (1962) - 5.8/10
Decent overall by my standards, but there were a lot of scenes of just long winded dialogue with nothing else going on. Definitely worth the watch though.

Comet gets a bonus mark for being one of the influences on Buffy.
Nemesis (1992) - 7.8/10
Just watched this for the first time, and I really liked it. The plot is pretty weak, but It's certainly a great action film if nothing else.

A fun Raimi outing. The usual Raimi hallmarks are there; absurdist humour, at least one projectile vomit and a decent amount of gore. The story is fun but it's Rachel McAdams who really carries this film, she is brilliant. Very enjoyable watch.

Sinners - 8.5/10
Loved this and annoyed with myself that I took so long to watch. Michael B. Jordan is great as the twins and the rest of the cast is really strong too. Great story. amazing music, fun villain and a great story which explores so many complex themes! Loved it.

Venom let there be Carnage - 9/10 I really loved this and rank it high among my top superhero movies now; Venoms humor reminded me of Deadpool in another favorite Deadpool and Wolverine

Koyaanisqatsi (1982) - 8/10

High and Low (1963) - 9.5/10
Boy is this one a gem. I hadn't even heard of this one until like a month ago. To put it simply, that is how you make a movie!

Hawk the Slayer (1980) - 7/10
Lots of fun to be had with this one. One of the better "low-budget" fantasy films.
 
The Last Seduction (1994) - 7.8/10
A very solid film for it's genre. Linda Fiorentino nails the role of Bridget, who is unapologetically ruthless. While I found it enjoyable overall, it did lack that extra something for me to give it a higher mark.

Playtime (1967) - 8.5/10
This is a great movie to have playing in the background as a conversation piece. The visuals are great, and there are a surprising amount of funny little side storys going on in the background adjacent to the main storyline. I really enjoyed it.

Powaqqatsi (1988) - 7.8/10
The second film in the Qatsi trilogy. And another that would make a nice conversation piece. I liked this one slightly less than the first movie in the trilogy Koyaanisqatsi (1982)

Moebius (1996) - 8.5/10
I really enjoyed this one! A few things could have been done better but considering that this film was made with a low budget, and by two professors and their students, I thought it was very well done! The whole train ride at the end was so cool, and very surreal and dream like! They nailed that scene! A great quote from the movie...."Neither man nor time disappear without leaving traces. They stick to our souls." If you are a fan of indie films, I highly recommend this one.
