Things You Can Tell Just by Looking at Her
A 10 for me.
I didn't like all of it, but it's a great film for women. I love the music in it.
The actresses all slay it ;p
I liked Calista Flockhart in particular.

Ahhh, this was terrible. Only saved by a few fun kills and the sheer stupidity (accidentally) turning into humour. Only watched it because I was appearing on a Youtube stream to discuss the film 😅

Killer Whale - 3/10
I love orcas, so I'm def going to watch a film called Killer Whale, but it was predictable terrible and really stupid, and if you've seen either 47Meteres Down or Fall, you'll figure out the story beats really fast. At the least lead actress was likable.

Jaxon X KNOWS its a 4/10, which is why its bumped up to a 4.5.
Radio Man - 6/10

This Australian film is better than a lot of sci-fi comedy and features a man who spends a night sleeping on the parabolic reflector of a radio telescope. An event that we see as a flash of light allows him to see everything that is on the internet. He parlays this into million-dollar win on a television game show.
 
I took advantage of some free movies on YT:

Return To Me (2000) - 6.5/10
I love David Duchovny, but I'm not sure he's 'leading man' material for a film. Cute movie, had the potential to be better. Run time of 2 hours was overkill.

Simply Irresistible (1999) - 3/10
Yes, the one with SMG. And yes, it's that bad. For those who have seen it, the end scene
Where the characters declare their love then they're floating instantly reminds you of the scene with Willow and Tara in BTVS when they're dancing together and they're floating!

Heaven's Door - 3.5/10
Starring Charisma Carpenter. Guess this is one of those Hallmark/Lifetime films. Outside of her small role in the Expendables films and her guest spot on Supernatural, this is the only other project I've seen her in.

@Ethan Reigns - I just meant that outside of the Expendables films and the guest spot on Supernatural, I haven't personally watched her in any other projects.

I feel like I should watch her on Charmed to erase the fact I sat through that bad film! 😉
 
Apex (2026) - 6.5/10

Solid survival thriller. Charlize Theron is committed as always, and there's some decent location work and action. The only big let down is Taron Egerton trying to play the sinister wacky villain with a ropey Aussie accent, just giving him a slaphead and having him do weird dances isn't going to sell me on him being menacing 🤣
 
Target Unknown (1951) - 7/10

An American bombardment group stationed in Essex is set to bomb a gasoline depot at Cambrai but the German interrogators use a gentle approach to get the information from them. They move the gasoline but a message sent via la resistance gets to the Americans just in time to send them to a relocated target in a local forest. This was better than a lot of famous movies and the manner used by the Germans to determine the target is fascinating to observe.
 
Weapons - 6/10

Still feel the same on this rewatch. It has is pluses, the ending is very strong, but I just find the structure too long winded with too much filler.
 
Supergirl (2026) - 7/10

Much better than the negative reviews suggest. The lead is very good and has nice chemistry with the co-lead. The villain is solid enough too. It’s a nice contest to the last Superman film but still feels like it’s in the same universe. The middle drags a bit, some of the flashbacks and backstories could’ve cut out. At times it feels a bit too quirky sci-fi but for the most part I enjoyed it.
 
They will kill You 3/10- one of the weirdest movies I’ve ever seen

Undertone- 0/10- one of the worst movies ever seen! I had high hopes but it didn’t even come close. The preview had me scared to watch it but I sucked it up and wow- it wasn’t scary, it wasn’t entertaining (at least they will kill you was entertaining and kind of funny), it wasn’t even funny so bad it’s good- it was boring! Not scary whatsoever smfh
 
Me and my mom watched Chris and Martina: The Final Set. It's about their friendship, rivalry, and recent battles with cancer. Mom's a big Martina fan. She watched a bunch of their matches back in the day. We also watched their old 30 for 30 documentary years ago. Given our own history with cancer, wasn't a dry eye in the room. 😳 2 big thumbs up. 👍👍

Me & @NotASlayer watched Project Hail Mary. Was better than expected. Solid sorta buddy space film.

Coffee and Cigarettes (2003) - 7/10
This was pretty good despite some flaws. Its a got a pretty impressive cast, and it definitely made me laugh a few times. I do think Night on Earth (1991) one of Jim Jarmusch's other films, is miles better though.

Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974) - 7.5/10
 
Hello My Name is Doris - 10. I thought they added a few jokes I definitely could have lived w/o but it's such an endearingly eccentric tale. I really like Sally Field. If you don't like huge age differences in relationships skip it lol. It's a comfort food movie for me, the cast is really good.

The Holiday - 7. I preferred Kate Winslet's story in this one. Cameron Diaz's character was incredibly irritating. Jude Law was Jude Law, he let his looks do the acting. Jack Black was adorable. It's a total fantasy with no basis in reality and I'm all for that once in awhile.

The Last Movie Star - 8. This movie surprised me. Burt Reynolds is part of my generation's childhood - Smoky and the Bandit, anyone ? - and wow, he really touched me with his performance. I actually cried. Ariel Winter was excellent.
