Super Mario bros movie 7/10
Very cute film about the unity of brotherhood and sibling love. Princess peach was very cute. The movie had a lot of action and adventure. I got nostalgic for when I used to play the game on my Nintendo DS.

(Rewatch) Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) - 7.5/10
Been through this one before, so all I'll say is; solid superhero origin story flick, great direction/editing, and my top three characters are Bucky Barnes, Colonel Phillips and Dum Dum Dugan 🙂

Have you seen Rocketeer? First Avenger is just a reskinned Rocketeer and actually I kinda liked that movie more.

PEARL- A+
I have been wanting to see 'X' since last year and I spoiled myself a bit on what it's about so I found out that Pearl is actually a prequel to X. Well I was just hanging with my sister and her husband and they watched X already and even though I didn't see it, I figured I could probably still watch Pearl first considering it's a prequel. And it was great. The cinematography was great, psychological aspects and characterizations were all done well. It was kind of a perfect horror for someone who doesn't want excessive/senseless gore.

A quiet movie that, on the surface, is about friendship, but has a deeper theme of how suffocating small-community life can be. Mostly a gentle movie, with a shockingly gruesome incident that resulted in a couple points off my rating.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3 - 7.5/10
Finally got out to see this, and I really enjoyed it. I liked the first two movies, and this one is on par with the other two. It is a bit sad, the animal cruelty stuff is horrific. I think this one is a bit more tame when it comes to humor, which I kind of like cause some of James Gunn's humor doesn't work for me. I do like the character arcs in this movie. There's some fun moments in the movie, I like learning the origin story of Rocket Racoon. It explains his behavior in the first two movies. I think it's the best MCU movie in a while.

(Rewatch) Iron Man (2008) - 10/10
There are, imo, only two perfect score 10s in what I've seen of the MCU so far; this is one of them. Every single time I do a rewatch (and I've seen it a lot by now) I find something new to learn, something new to enjoy. Tonight, I sat down to watch it with the intention of trying to nitpick and still I found no flaws. It's no wonder Tony Stark is my favorite character.
For some of you, it will be pretty obvious which film is the other perfect score, I think 🙂

Same rating as First Avenger; it's a decent movie with low lows and high highs but I think I enjoy watching it slightly more than Captain America, though that could just be me loving Tony's character more than Steve 😀

Cocaine Beat (2023) - 9/10
A huge bear finds a lot of cocaine, snorts it all, and then goes on a bloody rampage in the woods. He also has this tendency of sneaking up on campers and ripping them apart. Bears really shouldn't do cocaine. 😅
This is DEFINITELY one of the funniest films I've ever seen. And it's based on a true story!! I'm totally not kidding.
How this got greenlit in this day and age, I have no idea. But thank God someone at the studio said, "Yeah, cool. A murderous bear on cocaine? Sounds good! What kind of budget are we talking?"

The Northman (2022) - 8/10
The last 2 points are about personal taste, for me, it's 10/10. Amazing piece of work. If you wanna dig deeper, there are some interesting things being said about toxic masculinity and who perpetuates it and cycles of abuse. The movie was even better since I had read the Broken Sword a little earlier. Cursed blades are always interesting.

(Rewatch) The Incredible Hulk (2008) - 6/10
Hands down, the best character in this is good ole' Thunderbolt Ross, such a brilliant actor who brings such nuance to what could've easily just been a one-note villainous character. I'm excited for the series coming up but as much as I love Harrison Ford, I worry about the change; after all, Edward Norton is a fantastic drama actor but didn't convince me in this role. Marvel doesn't need A-list names, they need actors that know exactly how to work in this universe of films. Anyway, enough ranting, off to the next one!

Jurassic World: Dominion - 4/10
Wtf was this crap? Absolutely no follow-through on the whole Dinosaurs Living With Humans premise set up at the end of Fallen Kingdom, instead two very lacklustre storylines that barely connected and a whole lot of random exposition scenes that felt weirdly disjointed. It was fun to see the original trio back and there are a couple of scenes which do work well as far as tension and stakes go, but overall a really disappointing outing.

Lifeforce (1985) - 6/10
Crazy ass movie where the creatures are Space Vampires yet the infected turn out more looking like Zombies😀. Its a complete mess of a movie with a fun cameo from a younger Pre-Picard Patrick Stewart freaking out a lot. For all its faults, it is a really entertaining, trippy film with cool pratical effects, wonderful music and nice throwback feel.

Shadow of Doubt (1998) - 3/10
Sadly not the Hitchcock classic, instead this slapdash (good way to sum it up from my Mum!), messy thriller, which has badly dated, and is trying way too hard to come off as edgy and hip (tech, hip-hop, politics linked to a murder etc...), but instead is a very boring, run of the mill and predictable thriller with awful direction and dialouge. Melanie Griffith is the best thing in the film, but even she had seen better days at this point. The dodgy hip-hop track by the guy on trial for the killing did give me a chuckal😀
