The Avengers 10/10 I honestly don't know how to describe the sheer awesomeness of this movie, it's everything I've ever wanted in a superhero flick. You could tell it was Joss' work, his trademarks are everywhere, subtle comedy, nods to pop culture films and to his own work. I didn't see it in 3D and I didn't think it would really be worth it, there were only a couple of 'pop out' scenes which were obviously made for the gimmick.

Avengers 10/10 completely agree with everything said above. It was excellent and I'm going to see it again 🙂
 
I just returned from a long evening at the movie theater. Excellent night. We went to see American Reunion, waited for an hour and then watched The Avengers.

American Reunion - 7.5/10
I'm more than satisfied with the result of Hurwitz and Schlossberg. I really liked it.
It was funny, sometimes disgusting (in a rather good way) and the arcs of the characters were interesting and in some cases really gripping.
And this was actually the first time that I've seen my favorite actress on the big screen. Oh, man, Alyson Hannigan is gorgeous.

The Avengers - 9/10
I've really got to say that I didn't expect the movie to be that good. Great job, Joss!
I didn't have any particular expectations, since I'm not too familiar with all of the characters, but I hoped that it wouldn't, like, Joss' reputation.
It's just amazing how he managed to pull this thing off.
The only thing that bugged me (apart from the weird guys who had the seats beside us) was the 3D. I just hate it.
2 and a half hours are a pretty long time and after a while you're just sick of that crap. Gives me a headache.
But that has actually nothing to do with the movie itself which I'm glad to say was awesome.
 
American Reunion - 6.5/10
It really wasn't nearly as funny as I thought it would be. Still, it was decent.

Really looking forward to seeing The Avengers when that comes out here though 🙂
 
8/10 - The Hunger Games,
while I much prefer the book, as is common 🙂, I really did enjoy the movie, with the exception of all the cut aways to the capitol, Preisdent Snow and Seneca. I felt that was just a build up for a sequel that could have been left to the sequel...

I was wary of Josh Hutcherson playing Peeta but he won me over, I was sad that we didn't get to see as many important Katniss/Peeta moments, and while I prefer Gale in the books I now preferred Peeta in the movie 🙂

All in all it was a good watch but I felt that they put in a lot of needless things that took away from some important moments in the woods that I would have liked to see more.
 
Transformers: Dark of the Moon 9.5/10

Great movie as are all the others of the Transformers franchise. As always, I was a bit overlooking the "Witwicky-girl" because even if they dropped Megan Fox this one wasn't better... Man I wish they could have a real courageous girl that would actually do something...

But the movie itself is my fave of the franchise. Bumble Bee, Optimus, Prime, Ratchet... And Shia Labeouf!! <3
 
When Harry Met Sally - 7/10

Since everyone else has seen it, I figured I'd see it too. I liked it, and the two leads were cute together, but I think I liked them better as best friends, you know? I don't really like the message that the movie gives, how a man and a woman can't be just friends because the "sex thing" always gets in the way, but I don't think that's true.

Oh well, still a good movie. 🙂
 
Thor 7/10

Figured I had to see it before watching The Avengers. Not in my top 5 superhero movies, but good. I had a hard time dealing with Loki though. For I had a totally other image of him in my head before watching (damn SPN... 😀 ) Had another image of Odin too, but Anthony Hopkins portrayed him in such a different way that I could go over it.

Btw I think the way Thor was acting with the humans was very cute. He was made to be a king 🙂
 
Eagle vs Shark.

Cute movie, I loved the character Lily and there were some funny moments but I couldn't get over what a jerk Jarrod was, he was really off-putting. It could've been a lot funnier. 3/5.
 
The Cabin in the Woods - 9/10

It was awesome. I am a huge fan of slasher films, mainly because I enjoy rooting for the bad guy/watching people get ripped to shreds, but this was just...amazing. For once, I was rooting for the victims haha. I wasn't a huge fan of the ending but...I did like it, it kind of mocked the ridiculous/abrupt endings that those films often have. That aside, it was grand. It was amazing. I need to see it again.

"Lockout"

Just saw this last night. Your typical prison riot, with the twist that this prison os several hundred miles above the earth, in orbit. As luck would have it, the President's daughter was aboard on some sort of fact finding mission, AND one of the more psychopathic prisoners screws up the satellite's controls, so, in just a matter of hours, the orbit will deteriorate and everyone, including little miss daughter of the President, is going to be burned to a crisp. The only solution? One man, one very special man, who can get in, get the girl out, and escape safely before the big cook up happens:

Snake Pliskin.

Unfortunately, the Snake isn't available in time, so they have to make do with a grubby, sarcastic, but tougher than a whole room full of angry bobcats, cop.

(And, no, there aren't any spoilers in there, cause that's just about where the story begins.)

Good movie, lots of violence, quite a bit of swearing and some sexual innuendo, plus a TOTALLY unbelievable hero. What more could you ask for?
 
The Hunger Games - 9/10

I liked it a billion times more than I thought I would. I've never read the books and I'm glad because I probably would have been overly critical of it (like I was with Harry Potter) otherwise. I want to see it again! 😀
 
Blade: Trinity 6/10

It's not the worst movie I've seen. Its hard to even compare to the other Blade movies because nothing is similar save actors. I like Reynold's portrayal of Hannibal King even if it's not correct. Biel was a horrible casting. There were cute quotable lines. The end.

Agreed not the worst movie ever, but not great either. My favourite thing about this movie is Ryan Reynolds on the audio commentary. Without saying Wesley Snipes is a complete prima-donna d-bag, he strongly insinuates it 🙂

Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind: 10/10

I haven't seen this film in a while, and it's just as good as I remember it. Jim Carrey does an excellent job in this more serious role of his. A movie that really got me thinking after I saw it, which is always the sign of a good movie. Yes, there are times when we want to rid ourselves of bad memories, but in the long run, would it really make us better, stronger people without them?

The Three Stooges - 7.5/10

It took a little while to pick up. Just a silly slapstick (obviously) comedy. It actually made me laugh more than any other comedies I've recently seen in the theater.
 
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - 7/10

It had some good laughs and a lot of cheese. However, I found myself always thinking back to the TV series and thinking that's kinda where that came from. I know the movie wasn't true to Joss original script, but it made things clearer. If you haven't watched it for some reason, it's not the best movie in the world but it's worth your time.
 
L.A. Confidential - 9/10

Love it. It's pretty complicated though. If you don't listen to every word the people are saying, it might affect your whole understanding of the plot, which may mean you don't get it at all 😛
