Rounders: 9/10.

This was the movie that got me into poker. Matt Damon and Edward Norton are fantastic. Damon narrates and he does a spectacular job. Seriously, his narration probably adds a full point on my rating here. The supporting actors do an excellent job as well.

This movie really gets poker. All of the poker scenes are top-notch. You have to keep up with the plot, but it's not hard to follow either. It's a super detailed movie (something I always like in drama/action movies) with a great story to tell. Well worth seeing.

Contraband: 6-7/10

Solid movie. Nothing really special or original in this one, but it was still a fun show. I'm a huge Mark Whalberg fan, and like always he delivers. The action is solid and Whalberg is a good leading man, so I enjoyed it, but at the end of the day, this isn't one you'll remember for the ages. It's a heist movie (which seems to be Whalberg's MO every few years), and it ties together well.

It's been done before, but still, if you like action, you'll like this one.

oh how I love narration :D
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Arc 8/10

Very good movie. It's a little old, so some special effects don't look so good, but it's still great. And since I went to the Indiana Jones exposition at the Science Center last year, it was nice to see pieces I had seen for real.

The Fighter: 9.5/10

My favorite actor is Mark Whalberg, and Christian Bale isn't far behind him. Boxing is one of my favorite sports, and one that I've followed for years. If there was ever a movie that was tailor-made for me, this is it. It's a phenomenal movie. Whalberg produced the whole thing and he really gets boxing. It's smart, well acted from every corner and when it wants to be absolutely hilarious. Great, great script. It won a boatload of Oscars for a reason.

Bale gets all the props for his role (which is fully deserved, don't get me wrong), but Whalberg delivers, as he always seems to. He's one of the best leading men in Hollywood. Amy Adams and the entire supporting cast are great. Love the movie.

Bale is just a god in that movie!
The Bourne Identity : 4/10

Way late on this movie and well, I wasn't missing anything. It was boring and the plot was silly. Franka and Damon were good with what they were given but I didn't buy their chemistry or situation. I was hoping for at least mindless action kind of fun but it didn't do it for me. Won't bother with the rest of the franchise.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I freaking love this movie. It's another one I quote often. 🙂

Well, you have to know these things when you're a king, you know. That's a favorite of mine that I use whenever I get something right. :)

Omerta 9.7/10

Very very good movie. I'm proud of Quebec's film industry. The movie is about mafia and how hard it is for the police to get to them. It was based on a 1990's TV show. Starred Quebec actors known worldwide such as Stephane Rousseau (known in France for Astérix & Obélix aux Olympiques) and Rachelle Lefevre (known for her role of Victoria in Twilight and New Moon).

The only reason I'm giving it a 9.7 instead of a 10/10 is because I thought Rene Angelil could've been more convincing at playing the godfather.

Mysterious Skin - 9/10

After reading Living Dead Boy's reaction to this movie I had to see it. It is a GREAT movie with good actors. I really recommend it to people who want to watch something that isn't screaming hollywood (there's too much of that).

I should warn people though that it might not be an easy watch for everyone (it is very emotional and contains lots of sex with not only adults...)

The Dark Knight Rises - 9/10

After watching it for the fourth time 😱 I've found some small flaws that prevent the movie from getting a 10. If you haven't watched the movie yet, don't read this. All you need to know is that the movie is awesome. Go watch it. Come on, go! Now!

I hate Miranda Tate. I think her character is completely unnecessary and I just don't like her. The twist at the end was also weird. Then there's the clean slate. It brings more sense into Selina Kyle's story-line, but it's a stupid idea, in my opinion. But apart from all that, the movie is really, really great. It's so tragic when Batman fails at first and then returns. It makes the movie really special.

Batman the dark knight rises - 10 outa 10! for sure. what a great film!! and couldnt have picked better actors for the parts. Tom Hardy was amazing as Bane (made the film imo and am now slightly obsessed) highly recommend! 🙂

The Muppets.

Cute movie, much better than what I expected cos The Muppets is not really something that I'm very familiar with so I wasn't sure how I was gonna relate to this but it was very entertaining. But, I have a hard time looking at Jason Segels face, so it gets a 3,5/5 rating.

Total Recall (1990) - 8/10

What a great film! I meant to watch it for years now, but never managed to. Finally, now that they're releasing the remake (which apparently sucks), I got myself to watching this movie and I can't believe what I was missing out on 🙂 Great!

yeah the remake looks like total bs, Paul Verhoevens classic can't me matched - and they're remaking RoboCop and Starship Troopers too, it sucks..
The Shining - 9/10
Horror classic! There's no other film like it. I especially love the thing with the mirrors and of course the Redrum and the Ax scene!

The Usual Suspects - 10/10
Brilliant. When I watched the movie for the first time, I already thought that it was amazing, but it's getting better and better the more often I watch it. It has become one of my all-time favorites.

Marley At almost 2 and a half hours long, this look at the life and works of Bob Marley is as in depth as you could possibly want. From his early days as a singer in a manufactured record company band to the Rastafarian evangelism he later became so wel known for, nothing is left out and, considering it is the first documentary to be authorised by his wife and children, it is surprisingly unflinching in places. 9/10

The Pirates! Band of Misfits.

I really enjoyed this movie, it has a kinda weird plot but it's still good, some of the humor was brilliant . I loved the "The Surprisingly Curvaceous Pirate" character. I'm gonna get the blu-ray when it's released. 4/5.

The Slammin' Salmon.

Not a huge Broken Lizard fan, but this is def my favorite from them, well it's tied with Beerfest. Pretty funny stuff, not great comedy but it's stupid fun. 3,5/5.

New Year's Eve - 5/10

Kind of the sequel to Valentine's Day. No big plot line, some actors in there that annoy me. Had it's funny and tear jerker moments.
