A personal observance on myself: Before I saw Buffy and Angel, I saw a trailer for "I Will Remember You", with Buffy saying through teared eyes "I felt you heart beat". Not knowing Angel's heart normally doesn't do this, I thought this had to be the stupidest thing. Other trailers appeared with sensitive situations and I continued to laugh....

After I started watching Buffy, those same episodes (well, some of them) made me cry. I realized how sensitive I make myself for the characters and their situations. As in, season two's finale, I really matched myself up with Buffy and what she felt and really cried.

Does anyone else think that? I don't cry for emotional pain in real life. But when I watch Buffy and Angel, I do. Does anyone else feel this way?

I get worked up all the time -- I feel alot for Spike . I cant even watch chosen cause I become a blubbering idiot , but I do feel for the lot of em' -- I think JW wanted it that way

I cry all the time. No other show has made me cry as much as Btvs (and maybe Ats will). I cried through the entire episode of "The Body" everytime I've seen it! I think it's cos they have such great actors, and great storylines and lines...everything put together it gets very emotional.

Oh absolutely. I think it's just a testament to the cast and crew of both shows...they've really created a world where we all feel we belong...can relate to the problems and situations...and empathize so strongly with the characters.

I think what Lethe is trying to emphasise to a degree, is that BVTS and ATS stimulates a greater emotional response than real life. If so, I completely get that. Emotionally I'm very ... I'm trying to find a word that's not ...cold, but it'll have to do. I don't cry at funerals or tragic events, but just the score to the Gift gets me choked up. I think it could be part of the reason I loved the show so much. Same reason I love horror, I suppose. Artificial feeling. Bit of a bleak concept, but hey.
