okay, here is my attempt at an angel fanfic. it is not yet finished and will be continued soon. it is set after 'a hole in the world', focuses on fred, and is in script format. well, here goes nothing! please post your comments!

PART I

(There is a shot of the city. The camera pans out to reveal a glowing ball of light floating the sky. The higher it gets, the more the light deteriorates. When it is almost gone, there is a flash and ir disappears)

(Cut to a dark, mostly empty cave. There is a demonic-looking creature standing there with his arms outstretched. The light-ball appears before him and slowly grows more radiant. It suddenly transforms into Fred. It is her soul, almost burned up. She looks around, shaky and confused, until her eyes finally settle on the demon)

Demon: Ah, Winifred Burkle.

(Opening Credits)

Fred: (still shaking) W-Where am I? Who are you? D-

Unknown Demon: (gently) Hush. My name is Hermese and I am now your guide. I am a messenger for the Powers That Be. Remember them?

Fred: Yes. W-Why aren't I"¦ Aren't I supposed to be-

Hermese: Dead? Well, yes. Illyria has taken your body; you no longer have a place here. Your soul is supposed to burn up and then you will no longer exist in anything but a memory.

Fred: (Has stopped shaking) Supposed to?

Hermese: Yes. You see"¦(nods towards a stone bench in the cave) please, sit down. (Fred sits) You see, you have more to do in your life. Though Illyria's resurrection was pre-destined, her inhabitation of your body was not. And that's why I have brought you here, and spared you from that cruel fate. Fred; May I call you Fred? (Fred nods) Fred, there are many dimensions, as you are already aware of. Some are hell dimensions such as Pylea and Quor-Toth; but there are also dimensions of alternate realities. One small change can trigger a whole different future. Do you understand?

Fred: Yeah. You're talking about that alternate reality theory. For every action there is another reality where all the viable actions and outcomes for that one event happen.

Hermese: (Upset he doesn't get to explain further) Well"¦yes. (decides to anyway) Say Angel had never rescued you from Pylea; Doyle had never passed on his visions; you never took the job at Wolfram and Hart; Angel became human and went back to Buffy. There's a dimension for each of these realities, Fred.

Fred: Yeah, I get it. What I don't get is what any of this has got to do with me.

Hermese: (Laughs lightly) Well that's simple my dear. If you went to one of these realities, you'd sure as hell be able to do some good. That's what the powers have sent me to do. Send you there.

Fred: To another dimension? Which one?

Hermese: That's the catch; they're not sure. It's my job to guide you through the different dimensions until you can find the one you belong in. In some, you existed in the world of Team Angel, but you died. There you will have to explain some of this to them. In the others, you died in Pylea and can choose to tell them what you wish. And be warned. Some of these world are much more different and much more dangerous. Not to mention that what your friends have been through makes them who they are; take away some of that, and they can be different as well. Or maybe they don't change much at all. You'll have to see.

Fred: (stands) You can't just show up and tell me to do this.

Hermese: True, true. If you feel it's best, you're more then welcome to go back to the way you were and let your soul burn up. You'll be gone forever. You'll cease to exist. Not just dead, but with no soul left. Every essence of you destroyed, demolished, obliterated, broken"¦

Fred: Okay, okay. But"¦

Hermese: But?

Fred: But what if I don't want to do this. What if I get killed?

Hermese: Can it be any worse than your soul burning up? "¦Okay, it can. But I doubt it'll happen that way for you. Trust me, trust the Powers.

Fred: The Powers who have been so helpful in the past?

Hermese: Admittedly, we've had some problems in the past, and granted we're not the most loved bunch, but trust me on this: You can't mess with destiny, and this is yours.

Fred: Like it was Cordy's destiny to become a higher power and"¦

Hermese: (Annoyed) All right! All right! Forget it! (Gentler) Just tell me, what do you want to do?

(Cut to the shot of the city again. The glowy-light rises again, more powerful than before. Camera suddenly fades to white. There are consecutive fast flashes from the present time period of Angel, going backward to flashes of the past. They flash faster and faster and freeze on the ending scene of Thin Dead Line. Clips suddenly rush forward in such a blur; it is impossible to tell what happens in them. The screen fades to white)

(Cut to an alley in L.A. The glowy-light appears and bursts, leaving Fred, soul body and all, behind it. She looks around in recognition and begins to walk)

(Cut to in front of the Hyperion. Fred walks inside the building. The lights are on but thee is no one there. Some of the furniture is arranged differently. She walks up to the front desk)

(It looks the same except instead of one desk behind the front desk, there are three smaller ones, each with their own phone and cluttered in papers. One has a computer and so does the front desk. The artwork decorating the hotel has more of a feminine touch. Next to the desks in back is the weapons cabinet. She walks up to the front desk and sees business cards. They read Hope & Faith Investigations. There is a card for Cordelia Chase, Charles Gunn, Wesley Wyndham-Pryce, and Kate Lockley)

(Fred is examining the cards when Cordy walks in. She has grown her hair long again and she has blood smeared on her forehead. She is carrying a sword)

Cordy: Can I help you?

Fred: Um, yeah. Well"¦maybe. Uh"¦hi. I'm Fred Burkle.

(She reaches her hand out for a handshake. When Cordy doesn't shake, she pulls it back. Cordy walks over to the weapons cabinet and replaces the sword)

Cordy: So, what's your problem? Demons attacking you and your friends? Ghosts haunting your house? Vampires lurking? Trust me, we've seen everything. (Looks her up and down) Even tacky outfits like that. (some things never change!)

(Gunn enters, also blood-stained, with a battle axe)

Gunn: (happy) Woo! I'm feelin' good today! Those demons never knew what him 'em! Ain't that right? (Looks over Fred and whistles) Who's this?

Cordy: (gives him a playful slap) A potential client.

Gunn: Well, we certainly got plenty of those"¦(smiles) but none of "˜em looked like this!

Cordy: (Rolls her eyes) Give me a break. (To Fred) Be with you in it a minute. Please, make yourself comfortable. (Gestures to some luxurious leather chairs off to the side)

Fred: Actually, I'm, here-

Gunn: So are Wes and Kate back yet?

(Fred realizes they are not listening and settles herself in a chair to observe them)
Cordy: Nope, don't see them.

Gunn: Well, when are they getting back? Your vision wasn't exactly crystal clear, and we have no idea what they're facing right now.

Cordy: (sarcastic) Well excuse me if I forgot to adjust the satellite dish in my head!

Gunn: (sighs) I just hope they didn't run into"¦(notices Fred again and clears his throat) you know, him.

(Gunn goes to put away his sword and Cordy goes up to Fred)

Cordy: (smiles) Sorry for the wait. Please, step into my"¦cubicle.

(Fred follows her to one of the desks)

Cordy: Ignore the shoddy condition of the area (tries to organize some papers in a hurry), our offices upstairs are being renovated at the moment. (Gives up with the papers and sits at the desk). So, how can we help you?

Fred: Well, it's kind of complicated. See, I'm from another reality and-

Gunn: You need help getting back?

Fred: Um, no. I-

Cordy: Have information for us?

Fred: Um, no. I-

Gunn: Want us to kill some big, scary monster for you?

Fred: (frustrated) No! Just listen.

(Gunn pulls up a chair backwards and sits on it with his arms rested over the back)

Gunn: I guess we haven't seen everything.

Fred: Okay, see"¦(takes a moment to think) In the reality I'm from, I died. (tries to correct herself nervously) Well, I almost died. I mean, my body"¦um"¦let me try this again. See, my soul was going to burn up, and a messenger for the Powers That Be saved me He said I had a destiny in another reality. And that's why I'm here. I guess you could say I'm searching for my destiny.

Cordy: Well, you don't need to be from an alternate reality to do that.

Gunn: So let me get this straight, your from another reality, come here to find your destiny?

Fred: (smiles shyly) Yup.

Gunn: What made you come here?

Fred: In my reality, I was from here. I mean not from here, but-

(Suddenly, the door bursts open and in run Wesley and Kate. They look scared)

Cordy: (stands quickly and looks concerned) What is it?

Wesley: (out of breath) He's back.

Fred: He?

(Cordy and Gunn's eyes widen in recognition)

Kate: And he's on his way here.

(Fade out- possibly to a commercial if it were an episode)

PART II

(Coming soon)

I really like this. Its different but still in keeping with Angel....PLUS with it being alternate reality you can have any character with any new characterisation....like Buffy as a potential......or make Lindsay interesting ....you know...do something the show didnt!!
LOL.....but seriously i like the Fred character so a plot based on her after death, in a believeable way is cool.

this is very interesting...it's such an answome idea. i hated it when fred died...but i loved illyria...but moving on, i loved the idea that you brought her back into an alternate reality, you can pretty much do anything here!
i'd really love to read more.

here's the next installment:

PART II

(Fade in on the same scene. Cordy and Gunn scramble for the weapons cabinet and begin to select weapons)

Gunn: I thought he was in Europe.

Kate: Well he's back.

Wesley: They, actually.

Cordy: Both of them?!

Wesley: Yes.

Gunn: It's the return of the dynamic duo. Figures; we finally fixed the all damage from last time and here they come again.

(Gunn pulls out a long sword and a couple stakes. Cordy picks out an ax and a stake. She grabs her coat and puts the stake under it. Then she remembers Fred and turns to her)

Cordy: Um, Fred, right? You might want to get out of here. Things are about to get ugly.

Fred: Why? Who's this "he" you all are talking about?

Cordy: (turns to look at the others first) Angelus.

Fred: Angelus?!

Cordy: Heard of him?

Fred: Well, yeah. And Angel him. In my reality, he's Angel him.

Cordy: (looks happy) He is? (then looks sad again) He hasn't been "˜Angel-him' for over two years. (pauses) So, you knew him?

Fred: Yeah. I knew all of you"¦(looks at Kate, puzzled) except you. There were others too. Spike, Lorne, and just recently"¦(pauses as she notices the others pointedly looking away sadly) Did I say something-

Cordy: No! I mean"¦

Wesley: Lorne was killed"¦he killed him.

Fred: Oh.

(There is a short silence)

Kate: Look guys, I hate to break this up, but we should really get out of here. They're going to be here any minute.

Wesley: Yes, no sense in letting the place get destroyed"¦again. We should get to them first.

Fred: Wait, them? Who's the other-

Gunn: Darla.

Fred: Darla too?

Gunn: Yeah, a little over two years ago, Darla came back from the dead, made Angel crazy, then gave him a "moment of perfect happiness" and he became Angelus. Is there a curse in your reality?

Fred: Yeah, there's a curse.

Wesley: Guys, we really should move it along here. We need a plan and we need to hurry. You can catch her up on the way. (Stops and looks at her) Who are you anyway?

(Cut to them all hurrying down a dark, street at night. They all have weapons, including Fred who had grabbed a stake)

Wesley: (to Fred) I see. So you're from another reality, are you? It sounds awfully different from this one.

Fred: Could you fill me in a little?

Kate: Why certainly; and maybe while we're chatting Angelus will kill us, but that's just a risk we'll have to take, as long as it gets you informed.

Wesley: What Kate means to say is that we'd be glad to, but we should probably focus on the matter at hand for a moment.

Gunn: Yeah. For one thing, (disbelieving) can you fight?

Fred: (defensively) Yeah, can fight. Me and Angel fought all the time.

Wesley: Good, good. I suppose we'd best come up with some sort of plan then.

Cordy: (raises hand) I vote for the not-get-killed plan.

Wesley: Right. We've fought them before. We can fight them again.

Fred: Did'ya beat "˜em? Cause in my reality, all we could do was turn him back. We didn't want a kill him, of course, not that we could've-

Cordy: Fred, please. Hearing about this "˜in my reality"¦' business isn't helping.

Fred: Right, sorry.

Gunn: Well in our reality, turnin' him back wasn't really an option. Yeah, we tried at first, but he's real creative in dodging a kill. He and Darla escaped all our attempts, killed some, even turned Lindsey McDonald, who we did get to stake. We thought he'd never leave; think he got bored of us. Not that unleashing him on the unsuspecting world was a good thing.

Cordy: Yeah. We even got Buffy's help. No good.

Kate: Finally became clear destroying him was our only option. I never trusted him in the first place.

Fred: Okay, so, what's the plan?

Wesley: Well"¦(embarrassed) we don't exactly have one. Yet.

Gunn: What haven't we tried?

Fred: Well you're still alive, aren't'cha? You must be doing something right.

Wesley: That's true. We've held him off before. But those plans took days to come up with. If he showed up we pretty much fought hard as we could until we couldn't, then ran like our lives depended on it.

Cordy: (snaps her fingers) Ooh, what about that protection spell thingy? The one we used that zapped him with electricity when he came near us? That worked, right?

Wesley: Well unless you have the ingredients and remember the words, I think it's a little late for that.

Gunn: I say two to a vamp, go for the heart.

Kate: We could try to set them on fire. You know, dump some gasoline or something around the area.

Wesley: Maybe, I'm not sure if that would work though. Any other ideas?

Angelus (who has popped up behind them) How about I tie you up and stick you with hot pokers? Yeah, that works for me.

(Everyone looks up shocked and worried. Fade out)

PART III

(Cut to the same scene. Darla walks out from behind a building, licking her lips and smiling)

Darla: Well, well. I'm having a real déjà  vu moment. And in case you're interested in the corpses of the innocent, there are some fresh ones back there (nods behind her. She takes a big breathe of air) Ah, the smell of fear.

Angelus: (smiles) Yeah, isn't it just marvelous?

Darla: (wrinkles her nose and brow at Fred) Who's that one?

Angelus: (looks puzzled as well) I don't know. (smiles) But I sure like the look of her.

Wesley: (bravely and loudly) You'll not touch her!

Angelus: Whoa-ho-ho! Looky what we have here!

(Everyone tenses up and pulls out a weapon. Kate lifts a crossbow and aims it at him)
Angelus: (raises up his hands in mock surrender in gasps) You know what? I surrender. Because big scary Blondie pulled out a crossbow! Please, spare me! Spare me!

nice update...i kinda figured the 'he' was Angelus, but i wasn't expecting Darla.
nice job!

(He laughs)

Cordy: There are five of us and only two of you. Do the math.

Gunn: Yeah. Plus, we got weapons. All you got is fangs.

Kate: And (raises her crossbow slightly to aim at his heart) I never miss.

Angelus: And you'll never get to shoot.

(Angelus speeds up to her and knocks the crossbow out of her hands. He wraps one arm around her arms, preventing her from moving them, and uses the other to tilt her head. Gunn runs up and slams a stake at him, but Angelus surprises him by spinning round and letting the stake jab deep into a the area little under Kate's shoulder. Kate drops her sword and falls to her knees with a hand to her wound. Angelus takes her sword. Gunn looks shocked, worried, and guilty. Kate is losing blood rapidly)

Cordy: Kate!

(She runs up to help)

Cordy: We need to get her to a hospital!

(Angelus turns to face Fred. Cordy looks up at Angelus, frightened. Darla advances on Cordy, and she stands, stake at the ready and starts fighting again)

Angelus: (To Fred) Well, well, well. The ol' gang must've really downsized; pickin' a scared, scrawny little thing like you as their newest addition.

(Wesley jumps in front of her, sword held out)

Wesley: I don't think we were listening before. You'll not touch her.

(Swings his sword as if to decapitate him, but Angelus dodges easily it and blocks his next swing with Kate's sword. They begin to swordfight. Fred runs up as if to stake, then decides against it based on what happened last time. Angelus shoves Wesley back and grabs Fred, putting her between Wesley and himself)

Angelus: Go on, take another swing. Watching you kill your own friend will be great entertainment.

(Wesley hesitates unsure what to do. Gunn has lifted Kate and is prepared to go to the hospital. Wesley examines the surroundings and decides thing aren't in their favor)

Darla: Hm, it does look like the odds are against you, doesn't it my boy?

Angelus: Yeah. (Places sword up to Fred's throat) I could probably kill this one right here. (pauses) Nah, too easy. (to Darla) I know how we can make this more fun.

(Quick as a flash, he hands Fred over to Darla, and swings a hard punch at Wesley's head, knocking him out)

Angelus: (To those still standing) Catch us if you can.

(They take Fred and Cordy and hurry off into the night. Gunn stands, unsure what to address first. Gunn begins to help Kate over to Wesley)

(Cut to a motel. See shots of several employees lying dead with bite marks on their necks. Cut to a motel room where Fred is tied to a chair looking scared. Angelus and Darla stand over her)

Darla: So what do you plan to do with her?

Angelus: Torture her. Torture her "˜til she screams and begs for mercy. (smiles) This is gonna be fun!

Darla: What about the other one?

Angelus: You mean Cordy? She's knocked out in the other room.

Darla: Well that's no fun. Aren't we gonna do anything to her?

Angelus: Oh, she'll get her turn. (grins) Can't let her feel neglected.

Darla: (smiling) Let's do something original to her this time. (pauses and looks at Fred curiously) Who are you anyway? Not that we particularly care who we torture.

Fred: (trying to sound brave though she's scared) Fred.

Angelus: Well, Fred, welcome to the white-hat team. Think of this as your initiation.

Fred: (again, trying to sound brave) They'll all come for me, you know. They'll save me.

Angelus: (laughs loudly, then talks matter-of-factly) Of course they will. Then I'll just kill you, and move onto the next one. (moving closer to her, leaning over, and talking ominously) Then the next, then the next, then the next. And you can die with the satisfaction that you lead your friends to their death.

Darla: (Picks up a match, lights it, and holds it out to Angelus as Fred looks on, still frightened) Now, I believe you said something about torture.

(Cut to the Hyperion lobby. Kate is typing at the computer desk. Gunn is sitting on a backward chair again, still feeling guilty, with his arms folded over the chair and his head miserably rested on his hands. Wesley is pacing around frantically)

Gunn: We're losing another one. Not to mention a second who we haven't even gotten to know. (slams his hand on the chair) First we lost Willow when she tried to help. Then, in the next year, we lost Lorne. Now we're gonna lose two more! Damnit, That guy takes everything from us!

Kate: Then let's break the pattern. (focusing on the computer screen) I've just gotta figure out where they've been staying.

(There is a pause)

Gunn: (going off on his own little guilt trip) How can vampires turn that fast? I didn't know vampires could turn that fast.

Kate: Stop it with your guilt trip, I'm fine. We have to focus or another one's gonna bite the dust.

Wesley: NO! We're not gonna lose her! I won't let her die!

Gunn: Cordy's strong. She can handle herself.

Wesley: (sighs) Yeah, her too.

Gunn: Besides, he'll probably just torture them "˜til we get there anyway. You know, use "˜em as bait.

Wesley: (stops walking, looks distraught, continues pacing. talks quietly and determined) We have to go save her. We have to.

Kate: Geez Wesley, Cordy was taken too, remember?

Wesley: I know, of course I do. And I care about Cordy a lot. I just"¦I'm not sure, but there's something about that Fred"¦

(There is silence)

Gunn: Do you think her world was any better? I mean, besides the her-dying part?

Kate: Maybe. She said Angelus was Angel in her world. Lorne was alive. Maybe Willow was even alive.

Gunn: Yeah, who knows about all the better stuff out there? Who coulda thought that one little change could make such a big difference?

Kate: Well, I guess we could always ask her all about it if"¦you know if we're able to-

Wesley: What do you mean if? We're going to save her!

(Scurries around, first to Kate on the computer, then pause, turns and walks the other way as if to go get something. Then stops all together, but starts pacing again soon after. The computer gives off a beep and Kate stands up)

Kate: Got it.

(Cut to in front of an old motel. The four are standing there)

D
DrusillaRox
willow's dead?!
kay, hope you like this new addition! sorry its taken so long 🙂

(Cut to in front of an old motel. The three are standing there)

Wesley: do we have a plan?

Kate: Not really.

Gunn: Sure we do. Get in, grab "˜em, get out. Kickin' Angelus's sorry ass isn't today's goal; we gotta save Cordy and Fred.

Wesley: Agreed.

Kate: (Pulls out a stake) I'll try and hold "˜em off.

Wesley: Are we ready?

Gunn: Ready as we'll never be.

(They go inside. They begin to wander through the motel, stepping over dead corpses, and peering into rooms. Gunn hears whimpering and nods toward a door. They peer inside to find Fred charred and scarred, as well as whimpering. Wesley rushes over to her)

Wesley: Fred!

Kate: What happened? Where are they?

Fred: (Speaks in a hoarse voice) They- (swallows) They went to another room. S-Said they didn't want Cordy to-to miss out. (A look of pure fear and pain is on her face) Oh God. I-I never saw Angelus when he"¦he was in a cage most of the time and-and"¦oh God. I-I can only imagine what they're doing to her.

Wesley: (Gently) Shh-shh. It'll all be all right. (To Gunn) We have to get her out of here and get to Cordy as soon as possible.
Gunn: You guys gonna be okay if I take her back?

Fred: No! I-I've been through worse then this. I-I'm strong. I'm strong. If this is where I belong, I have to help. If I don't do anything, this couldn't possibly be where I belong. Cordy died in my reality. If I- If I can do something to stop it this time"¦

Kate: Fred, look, the facts of it are, you're not in prime fighting condition.

Angelus: And hey, if they don't fight back, where's the fun? Well, maybe if she'll give us another scream.

PART IV

(The gang turns to face the door and see Angelus standing in it. Darla is by his side with an unconscious Cordy, looking as scarred as Fred)

Darla: And I said things were déjà  vu before"¦only difference is your one girl down and one girl in no condition to take us on.

(She throws Cordy onto Fred, who is tired to a chair, and they fall to the ground. She shuts and locks the door)

Angelus: Not that she'd be much of a help to you. You're really a pathetic bunch. I amazed you've kept us amused this long. Darlin', I think it's time to take the kettle off the stove.

Gunn: You can try.

(He pulls out a broadsword recognized in the original reality as Angel's. Angelus pulls out the sword that he took from Kate before. They begin another swordfight)

Angelus: You know, I was always more of a hand-to-hand guy myself. But hey, your call.

(Suddenly, the door blows open with a fierce gust of wind. A strange, young, brunette woman with a crazy look in her eye stands there, arms outstretched. She has a crazy smile as well. The group turns to her confused. A blue-green glow begins to emanate from her hands rapidly. It a burst, it hits everyone in the room, paralyzing all but their heads)

Woman: (Shouting in crazed anger) You think you can just getting away with killing them, don't you! My family, everyone I cared about! You killed the very walls! They aren't alive! They're just empty! (She stops and walks around for a second) Wait, this isn't me! It's cause you've killed me! (She stops walking) Wait, you never killed me! Never bit me like the others! Well I still feel dead!!!!! You don't do this to me! Well, you don't do this to me and get away with it! You pissed off a witch!

(She raises her hands again. Stakes fly through the air, stabbing Angelus and Darla in the heart as well as ramming through Gunn Wesley and Kate all over. The stakes are aimed high, so Fred and Cordy remain safe on the floor. Fred is in a state of shock and sadness. Suddenly, everything freezes and a glowing ball of light replaces Fred. The light flies up through the night sky of L.A, and becomes Fred again as it lands on a rooftop. Her scars are now gone and Hermese stands before her. Fred eyes are wide and she remains shocked by all the death)

Hermese: I take it that this reality's a big no-no. (Smiles and puts a hand on her shoulder) Hey, no reality is perfect. I doubt you were meant to do good there though, considering they mostly died.

Fred: (Finally speaking) So what happens now?

Hermese: Oh, they'll all be around, in another reality. As for you, let's try something a little different this time.

(Cut to a ball of glowing light slamming towards the ground, turning to Fred just before it hits. She stands up)

Fred: (Stands up, rubbing her back) Ow! (Takes a long look around) This doesn't look like L.A. Where am I?

(Fade to black)

i know its been a really, really long time since ive updated (i really meant to), and the few who were interested probly lost interest, but, well here's an update anyway. hope those of you still out there like it:

2nd Reality- PART I

Flashback (Hero):

(Angel stands with Cordy and Doyle on a platform above a ship's cargo hold. Doyle hits Angel in the chin, knocking him down into the cargo hold. He turns to Cordy and they kiss. There is a blue light between their lips just before they part. Doyle steps back)

Doyle: Too bad we'll never know (Morphs into his demons face) if this is a face you could learn to love.

(Angel runs over to the ladder and climbs back up)

Angel: Doyle. Doyle. Doyle! Doyle! NO!

(Doyle jumps over to the beacon, grabs a hold of its metal frame, turns his head, and smiles at Angel and Cordy)

Angel: No

(Doyle morphs back to human and tries to pull the cable apart as the light gets brighter and starts to melt the skin off his face. Doyle manages to pull the cable apart just before he burns up. The beacon goes dark and the demons stare, stunned, at the fading beacon. Cordy starts crying and Angel hugs her)

(The screen freezes on the scene and time speeds forward too fast to see with flashes of scenes from an alternate reality. The screen fades to white)

(Cut to Fred, standing in the unknown location. She glances around some more. She sees trees, many rocks, and what appears to be a large cave. She goes inside the cave and gasps with recognition. There is writing all over the walls of the cave; it's what she'd written while hiding out in a cave in Pylea. She reaches out and runs her fingers over the familiar words with a shudder)

Fred: (Eyes wide) I'm in Pylea.

(A look of terror and remembrance crosses her face. She wonders in worry if Pylea is the same in this reality as in the 5 years she'd been trapped there. She looks up with a start as she hears footsteps crunching around outside)

Voice: (calling out) Fred? Fred? Where'd you go off to?

(Fred stands, frozen, unsure what to do. A woman walks into the cave. It's Willow)

Willow: There you are, we were getting worried.

Fred: Willow?

Willow: Yup, that's me.

Fred: Why are you in- never mind"¦look this is gonna sound weird but"¦(Pauses, unsure if she should tell Willow, since she already is known in this reality)

Willow: But what?

Fred: Oh, nothing. My brain's just a little out of it today.

Willow: Too out of it to help, cause Buffy and I could really use your big brain right about now?

Fred: Buffy's here?!

Willow: Um, yeah, isn't she usually?

Fred: Right, of course.

Willow: Look, after about seven and a half years of magical encounters, I think it's reasonable to wonder if you've had any lately. Like, did you touch some demony-blood? Ooh, or see someone go all spellcast-y?

Cordy: (Entering the cave) You know, she could've just hit her head. Geez Willow, not everything is magical.

Fred: (Glad to see one of her closer friends, and to see she's alive here) Hey Cordy.

Cordy: Hi Fred; you know Buffy's looking for you? Pylea's Protector can't do everything herself, now cam she?

Fred: Pylea's Protector? Isn't she supposed to be the Slayer? Protecting the Hellmouth?

Willow: (Giving her a skeptical look) Not since we came to Pylea. Buffy protects Pylea; Faith protects Sunnydale.

(Fred tries to take this in without voicing her shock aloud and Cordy sighs)

Cordy: There really is something wrong with your memory, isn't there? Great, how are we gonna deal with my vision now?

Fred: You still- (stops abruptly as not to make the same mistake)

Willow: (Concerned) Are you okay?

Fred: Yeah, fine. I just need some air is all. Maybe I should walk around a little more, clear my head. (She exits the cave)

Willow: Should we follow her?

Cordy: (Raises up hands in defense) Hey, I'm not her keeper.

(Cut to Fred walking down a street in Pylea. It seems to have modernized. The buildings, clothing, etc. are less old fashioned then she remembers. Demons and humans, though mostly demons, walk along the streets. A moderate-sized building with a blinking-neon sign catches her eye. It reads: Caritas. She goes inside. It looks very much like the Caritas of L.A. had looked. There are mainly demons, and maybe three humans, drinking in talking in seats. On the stage there is a stool with a man on it)

Andrew: Good day gentle viewers. My name is Andrew, for those of you who don't know. Come with me now if you will; I'd like to tell you a little story called The Rebirth of Pylea.

----------
hm...it seemed longer before i posted it....🙂

Well now, this is quite an excellent read. I must admit I didn't get the opportunity to look at this story before, and having now done so I think It would be a damned shame to see this fall by the wayside.

Hopefully we'll all get to see some more soon.

Well done. :: tu ::

ok, so i had OMIII post a poll for me because i havent continued this story in a long time, but it might be nice to write it again. however, im busy lately, and im not sure if id just be writing it just for me, or if anyone else wants to see what happens next. plus, ive kind of had writer's block. if you guys want to see more of my fic, then please vote yes, and then i will continue the story as soon as i get the chance. if not, then just let this thread die and be buried with this poll; stick a stake in it, it's dead.

basically, i need to know if you guys are liking this, or even reading it, so i know its not a waste of my time, which as i said, i only have so much of. ive kind of been blabbering about it, but basically, id like your votes, thoughts, and comments please 😀.

thank you for your input angel's vision! 🙂 by the way, this poll does not have a time on it, but i think ill only leave it open for voting for a week before i see how the results all turned out and make my decision. after that...well, i suppose you guys could keep voting anyway if you feel like, but it wouldnt effect my decisions or help my purpose for it in any way. 🙂

i just read your update and i loved it so much. its really great. you should be a writer.. i really liked it! congrats.. and pleaseeee continueee!

ok, so, only 5 people voted, but i kind of abandoned this anyway, to which i apologize to anyone who was actually interested. i was inspired to continue with it a few days ago, and i thus did. here is a new installment, which i wrote for all you who voted yes, and for myself since i was inspired. apologies also to all of you who were interested from the get-go, but lost interest cause i stopped writing. its not really a big part; its kind of a shortish exposition leading up to the big stuff. but regardless, i hope you enjoy! 😀

and also, big thanks to lyri for editing! 🙂

Andrew: Good day gentle viewers. My name is Andrew, for those of you who don't know. Come with me now if you will; I'd like to tell you a little story called The Rebirth of Pylea. Long ago, and far away, in the year...(clears throat and mumbles) 2000, in a small town called Sunnydale, there lived a hero. Buffy Summers was her name. Slayer by trade, she slaughtered demons daily, werewolves weekly, and vampires"¦vmonthly. She was friends with another hero, whom you all know, as our own grand and voluptuous seer, Cordelia Chase. And during this epic year, Cordelia had what would be one of the most important premonitions of her life, and the life of any Pylean; she saw our Winifred Burkle, trapped in her cave. Of course, she rushed right off, to tell Buffy of this vision, and she and her little gang of Slayerettes headed off to Pylea to save us all. By destroying the priests, we humans were freed of our cow-like status! And as for our demons, well (chuckles) the entirety of Pylea was under new management, from which everyone was to benefit! Now the question I pose to you, gentle viewers, is who was to rule?

Demon: Who cares? We've all lived here for years! We already know! (A few demons murmur in agreement)

Andrew: (Ignoring the interruption) An obvious choice, the grand hero the Groosalug (puts his hands to his heart, gazes off in the distance, and sniffles), died in the battle against the priest. (Wipes an imaginary tear from his eye, and faces the audience again an smiles) Now, the next best choice would be Willow Rosenberg. As a brainy witch, and friend of Buffy's, she would make the perfect leader. She accepted, and as her first act, she moved to make Buffy Pylea's Protector. I mean, who better to guard us all against various evils than a Slayer? "¦However, with her in Pylea, who would protect the poor, innocent townsfolk of Sunnydale? (Strokes his chin) A puzzling dilemma. But luckily, after much dispute and trouble, they were able to recruit a partially reformed Faith to Sunnydale to be the town's resident Slayer, with Watcher Rupert Giles and Ensouled Vampire Angel there to keep a close watch on her, of course. You all remember Faith, don't you?

Demon: (Sarcastically) No! I don't have a clue who she is! Please, oh great Storyteller, enlighten us! (A few demons chuckle)

Andrew: (Chooses to ignore the demon again and sighs) The poor girl was lost to darkness and evil, a rogue Slayer, until Angel helped her overcome it. With Willow standing tall as our leader, Buffy as Protector, and Cordelia and Fred here to help in the wings, Pylea was created anew. Our home dimension was modernized, and introduced to the world of song and storytelling. (Gestures around him) This very club was built by Buffy's own friend"¦who just happens to be my friend as well, Xander Harris. (He briefly has a nostalgic look in his eyes, and then it disappears) Now how do I fit into all this, you ask?

Demon: (Clearly bored with the whole story) Not me! (A couple of other demons chuckle)

Andrew: (Snaps out of Storyteller mode and turns to the demon) Shhh! I was getting to the good part! (Turns back to audience and Storyteller mode, and smiles) Well, that's a fascinating story. (Looks of into distance, recollecting) My adorable little friend Jonathan and I set up this cute little evil scheme; we were going to be villains, (loudly) take over the universe! ...But, after our first couple of plans, the Gang discovered our plot. And with the guidance of Faith, Giles, Xander, and Angel, we embarked on the journey of redemption. A long, and painful odyssey, I'll admit, but-

Demon: Didn't you guys make, like, a time loop as your evil plan?

Other Demon: (Laughs and mocks him) Ooh! Scary!

Andrew: Stop it! Let me finish!

Demon: (Steps up to the stage and takes the microphone) Look, here's all that happened. This guy, (Jabs thumb at Andrew) and some other guy tried to make an evil gang, but they were too lame. When Faith and the rest put a stop to their "lame evil", he came here to help at Lorne's place.

Andrew: Hey! It was only lame cause we didn't get enough time to finish!

Demon: Pft!

Andrew: And my redemption happened to be more trying then you could ever realize!

Demon: Come on! Does anyone believe this human?

(A chorus of "˜No's follows, and many demons start to get riled up, a couple throwing things at the stage. Lorne stands from his seat in the audience)

Lorne: (Hold up his arms in defense) All right, now we all know that no violence is possible is Caritas.

Demon: Then let's take him outside!

Audience: (chorusing) Yeah!

(The demon grabs Andrew by the collar of his shirt and holds up him up in the air, carrying him outside, as many other demons follow. They stand just outside the door. Fred follows, both worried and curious)

Andrew: Now let's not be hasty, Mr"¦Demon-Guy! I have friends in high places! I could sic Buffy on you!

Demon: (Laughs) Yeah, sure! Let me just close my eyes and see if she appears in the distance, in some heroic fash- (He is cut off by a punch from behind that knocks him and Andrew to the ground)

Buffy: (Standing behind the fallen demon) Well, not from the distance, but I'd still say I made pretty good time.
