If Tiff wants her anger to be taken seriously, she needs to get rid of the Minnie Mouse bow!

Aubry really knows where she stands, with everyone angry at her for not playing her Idol. And why should she do it for them? I think it was a mistake to play it at this tribal. An Idol is power, even if people know about it. She was foolish to be intimidated by the men about it. And now she will probably be voted out soon.

I am beginning to straight-up hate Jonathan. He's lied, too, and interrupting Dee's discussion with Coach was so rude! I feel like he just hates women putting one over on him. What a jerk.

I continue to dislike Coach and his supposed sense of honor. Tiff nailed it when she called him "a self-righteous hypocrite." I can't believe he managed to bully everyone into going along with his plan! But it's not the first time someone with a lot of bluster and self-confidence has browbeat a group of people. It irks me the way he corners people, forcing them to agree to his plans, or they're "lying" and "without honor." I'm glad Rizzo sees through him, and yet I feel Rizzo has a privilege the women don't, because Coach invited him into his all-male alliance. So in short, I don't want any of the "dragon slayers" alliance to get much farther.

Emily may be playing her own game, but she just seems unable to not run her mouth. She immediately blurts out secrets, and that seriously damaged Dee's game in a way that I think hurts Emily's game, too.

I was disappointed in the vote, but I hope Dee will wreak some havoc as the "mayor of the jury"!
 
Finale week for AU. On to the torture challenge tonight, with the families watching. They've already been up there an hour, and I know it lasts into dark from the promos! I cant even sit still on the couch for an hour! These peeps are more tough than me!

The hype for tonight is huge. I duno if my algorithm lets me see more this year or if Dave is just hyping it up better, but I have never seen this much hype for a finale online before. Going to be a showdown for sure!!!
 
Did you all know it was going to be a live finale/reunion? Is that the first time this has ever been done? I was so shocked.

These last 3 episodes were TOP NOTCH gameplay, and why I always advocate for Australian Survivor in Survivor discussions on reddit. This season was LOADS more compelling than the 50th US season, and I think it's because the US producers are so gimmicky, they've lost the plot and heart of the game. They do too much TELLING about the game instead of allowing the cast to show the gameplay. I think Australian survivor does this balance fantastically.

I had no idea, I avoid spoilers like the plague! I was STOKED! Loved seeing Dave take the box and get on his bike. Super cool! Very old school survivor vibes 😀

I thought after Keelys snuff, that it would just be downhill to Caleb winning, but then Jackson won immunity, Caleb winning fire, and then Caleb taking Jackson to the final 2 were all moves that I didnt see coming and kept the interesting 😀

I was worried because Caleb didnt sell himself well, but the fact the jury spoke for him, speaks to what a great social game he played as well as strategic. I thought it was a great season and deserving winner. So much fun to watch as well!

When I was absolutely gagging over the Live Finale reveal, Hubs and I were talking about who we think won, and I was like "I think Caleb got the winner edit, but Jackson did a great job of selling his game to the jury". The players this season were just so top notch. So many blind sides. So many twists and turns. AND WE'RE OFFICIALLY GETTING ANOTHER SEASON! I haven't finished the reunion part of the episode, so I don't know if they filmed a tease like US Survivor does. But I loved watching David roll in on that motorcycle.
 
I thought Caleb had the winner edit too, but the show kept me guessing right until the end!
I was so shocked by the Loz blindside, I thought she would be the easy one to win against, but obviously we dont see it all! Perhaps their game was too similar socially.

Yeah I agree @Stake fodder it was annoying that Aubry played the idol just cos of the pressure too, could have been used better.

How are stef and chrissies eyebrows so neat? Everyone looks far too clean and put together - coming off the back of AU, its weird to see. Bring back the Sue facial! hahah

Yeah boys get Rick out. Tiff can wait and will be too predictable, go for the big dog Devens and get that threat out NOW. I am no Tiff fan but it would be so boring if she was the next boot.

Sit out Cirie hehe good call on her part! Oooh voting for a pair, that puts a spanner in the works. Still would be good to target Ricks and Aubry now that shes blown her idol and he's still a big idol threat. So Im hoping those two dont win (now I've said that, they will...). GO Joe save Tiff! That will piss everyone off lol.

The maze is entertaining to me, dream team of Stef and Ozzy, I want Tiff and Joe to be safe and I want Rick and Aubry to lose - so it feels like I have skin in the game, making it more entertaining to really have one to root for. YAY!!!! Go Joe and Tiff! Joe looks like he is all oiled up lol.

2000 coconuts! My back would be done by 3 lol. I didn't expect Cirie to find the coconut. The fake eyelashes are a bit much. I'm starting to hope she wins, because shes worked for it on enough seasons!!

Ah I didnt realise they got reward too, thats cool 😀 Joe now wants to team up lol dont buy it. But for one vote it will do.

Haha Cirie going for Coach and Chrissy isnt what I expected, but I'd trust her judgement and experience. Oooh interesting that Joe is fighting for his say, I actually agree with him, but he's usually fighting for the wrong side. I cant be bothered doing the maths on this - so tribal will be a surprise for me 😛

Oh Ricks, you spanner. He's just decided it protects them both now. They should all know Ricks is known for fakes... I hope they still risk the vote on him. Coach doing his spiel, he's probably going home lol. Sad his shot in the dark was a not safe, would have been cool if it was Safe. And again not cos I'm a Coach fan, just cos it would have been cool! Oh well.
 
Survivor 50: I don't know why at the beginning, they were saying Coach was a disaster and not liked, when it definitely seemed like he was running the last vote. Not sure what changed between then and now, but I'm so relieved he and Chrissy were voted out, as I don't like either of them! I have never much liked Rick, either, but his fake idol move was brilliant and probably saved his bacon.

Speaking of idols, shouldn't Aubry's have boomeranged back to Christian now? There was no mention of it.

I didn't like the twist, as it resulted in another somewhat-random vote-out, like the Blood Moon, where people had to vote for someone they didn't want to. Though I think Coach and Chrissy made the best vote-out pair. And I think more Shots in the Dark have been used this season than all previous ones combined. I think only once has it ever worked out for someone.

Good question! People look too groomed by half this season. And they all were allowed to bring extra clothes. Maybe that was the way before, and I just didn't notice, but I don't think so.

I didn't, either; that was incredibly hard! I thought she shouldn't waste time with the coconuts near the instructions - they wouldn't make it that easy. She also shouldn't have used energy chucking away the ones she checked. But it worked! And Cirie was ruling that vote. Take that, Coach!
 
Coach was gone as soon as Cirie got that vote back. Even without Ricks fake out, Coach was still going to go home - Cirie had the numbers. The only vote the fake idol *might* have flipped, is Stefanies. But Cirie, Ozzy, Rizzo, Aubry, Devens, Christian, Tiff were all solid on Coach and Chrissy before tribal. Joe didnt want to but had to go with his alliance especially after he told Tiff he wanted to work with her! I was glad that I didnt count votes or Tribal would have been a lot less entertaining, It only worked because I was going into it blind on purpose with a heart full of hope that they'd get Rick out. I am so over him now. The fake idol wasnt required, so in hindsight a poor play.

I didnt see Coach or Chrissy to be a winner threat - but I see Christian and Cirie to be! Bit of a show down, 3/3 Cirie Ozzy Rizz - solid, Rick, Christian, Aubry - solid (unless Aubry ditzes out).

I think it only boomeranged if Aubry was voted out with it. Since she played it - its gone.
 
Well the intro has Jonathon saying he trusts Christian - big mistake! Highlighting that Joe doesn't trust Devens. So I assume this episode is setting up for a blindside on them!

Devens lying through his teeth, I hope Stef sees though it but I doubt it. Is he telling Emily the idol is fake? LOL C'mon Emily, this is when you need your big mouth to work FOR you - TELL EVERYONE!

Stef showing she is a bit oblivious, chrissy and coach were not blindsided, they were going home regardless of the idol thing.

Amazing that Ozzy knows what is going on hahahahah. I love that Joe is teasing Ricks on the beach, bitchy like old survivor ha. Go Aubry, Jump Ship! I love her, I duno why, but I love her haha. She still was a suitable sacrifice to get Ricks out with tho.

Nah Rick, Joe is telling the truth. Joe has pledged allegiance to Tiff at reward. I hope they get Ricks out, hes annoyed me as much as hes annoyed the cast lol.

Is Jonathon catching on? He is more than muscle, but if they catch on that he has a brain, he's out! Mind you. he's out anyway. C'mon so bored of the Christian and Ricks show now, can we get to a challenge??? Ugh He's still going around the campfire. This crap better pay off.

Cirie is a shield for her shield. Haha Cirie has a "Fix your face" moment with Ozzy. He is a bit of a Simon lol.

Gosh Jonathon is a beast of a man, can we do a Survivor 50 Calendar with him on every page please? I really do hope this plan pays off, but I am doubting it will 🙁

This is the kind of challenge that should discourage going into the game fat haha.

Oooh outlast Jeff, he's waited 50 seasons for his challenge moment. He's just chatting along while some are already struggling haha. HAHAHAHA Rizz being the first the drop is no surprise. He's already on the hosting gig. This is pretty funny, I love a bit of challenge banter and they are all giving it to jeff.

A flash back that I LOVE! This is excellent 😀 Bring back sassy Jeff 😀 He's really struggling now haha or playing it up for the camera, either way - entertaining 😀 Showing that he is, in fact, a better host than the rest of the cast lol. Hand grip is a good indication of life span, so maybe he will get to season 100.

Is Jungle Man Ozzy's Only fans? Ok, we can include Ozzy and Joe in the calendar too.

Oh no, Christian is totally going to win this thing. I'd get so seasick out there lol. I thought of Rachel too when I saw this. I wonder how many times he had to read this to get all of the camera angles. I rekon who evers name he writes down gets safe if he messes up the puzzle. Oh thats plenty of time, they are going to have to stall him to make it seem tight. Wow I'm surprised he fumbled it! Probably needed some rice in him ha. Doing his hero moment, so not all is lost. HAH putting the target on themself is pretty funny, take the swing peeps!! Who has a real idol? Doesnt say he cant use an idol.

Oh no, dont get cocky there Jonathon. I wonder if he can go home with Christians shot in the dark? Hmm none actually seeing Christian as a threat, like the audience is seeing. He must be playing a soft social game, under the radar. Rizz is on it.

Devens is going to coast on his idol. Gee a scattered tribe! Get him, get christian out! WO HOOO! I am so pleased! I thought he would get real deep in the game or even win, so I am so glad he is out and I have read it wrong. Much more interesting to not know what is coming.
 
@November Good point about Emily keeping her mouth shut for once, when maybe she shouldn't. Rick was a fool to tell her, and she might still spill the beans. The only value of a fake idol is for everyone to think it's real!

I wish I could know how people were going to vote last tribal before Rick pulled out the fake idol. There was a lot of whispering after he did that, so I feel sure that some changed their votes. But again, everyone's mad at Rick not playing his "idol." Why should anyone play theirs until it suits their own purpose? Be mad all you want!

All of a sudden, everyone is getting hurt over "betrayals." Before, they mostly seemed to understand that it's a game, but now Christian has "stabbed" Jonathan in the back. Joe and Stephenie also voted for Chrissy & Coach! Like you said, almost everyone did in the end.

I like Aubry, too. I haven't thought she was playing that smart this season, but buttering up Jon is a good idea. Like Cirie does, make all the allies you can!

Meanwhile, is Joe even playing? Why let a rock-paper-scissors game decide who is going to the challenge? That would have gone badly for them if Christian had one, somebody whom Joe's allies want out.

I really did enjoy Jeff having to be in a challenge for once, and the way everyone razzed him mercilessly. He did terribly, despite having food and comfortable living! That was definitely a point for Jimmy Fallon. I laughed out loud when Jeff asked how long it had been and was told "six minutes." 😆

However, I did not like that Christian had to vote for himself, and tell everyone, and agree that it was a bad idea of Fallon's. Christian may have been voted out anyway, but I do feel some jumped on the bandwagon because he was made an easy target. What if someone else more popular had gone, would the same thing have happened? Once again in this season, the vote is messed with in a way that I feel the producers were warping the game. I don't blame Christian for being in a rage, which I think he really was, not just being sarcastic like Jeff thought. And I'm sorry to see him go, as I thought he was playing a good game.

The vote was rather scattered in a way that seems to indicate the alliances are breaking apart. Maybe Rick was a back-up plan, but why would they need that? Unless Christian could have played an idol, which he didn't have. I'm still wondering if there's another idol out there waiting to be found.

It definitely was an exciting episode! Next week is another two-hour one.

I rewatched and most of the whispering was saying "stick to the plan" and "is it real/is it a rock" I think they were all in shock that it happened but it didnt change Joes vote. It did make Jonathon ark up and show his alliance.

The twist absolutely put the target on Christian. I don't think he was in danger at all until he had to vote for himself. It was such an easy choice for the rest of them after that. The split votes was likely just in case of an idol, or even Rick playing the fake idol, but I dont think Christian would have been the vote at all if he didnt go on that journey.

I do see what you mean about being a bit unfair, I would have loved it a lot less if it was Cirie, or even Ozzy on the Journey (but I also have a bit of Emily in me, saying serves you right for taking the risk, if Ozzy had gone). Christian is going to make the most salty mouthy judge and person to do the talk show curcuit after the show, so it was the most entertaining option at least 😛

I was wondering about other idols as well, it doesnt seem like anyone is looking.
 
Jeff joining a challenge and picking THIS iconic challenge to try was the BEST part of this whole season. Allowing the Survivors to give HIM the commentary he’s been giving to them for 50 seasons was so good. Finally a production twist I like! lol.

BUT THEN the Christian journey and consequence completely turned the whole freaking episode. I don’t mind him having to vote for himself. That was a good disadvantage on Fallon’s part. The having to read it and expose it to EVERYONE. It would have been SO STUPID for them to let him continue. It’s a drop in the bucket for final three if he would have continued. Same disadvantage minus the reveal would have been SO compelling. Can’t trust production to not derail an episode. Sigh.

And no Oz episode to remind me why I love this game so much this week. But I am still reveling in the PERFECT redemption season. And im on board with David as host. He will never be my JLP, but I was so glad he had settled into HIS version of host by the end. It’s almost like his own redemption story played out after his last 2 player seasons. When you think about his loss in AU v World and then him becoming host and really making it his own… it’s a great journey.

Perfect words! To be honest I'm still in shock that Caleb took Jackson to the final, I never would have seen that coming, well not until Jackson said he couldnt beat either of them from the bench, after collapsing out of the challenge into Davids arms. The returnees played a great season, but even once they were all out, I was on the edge of my seat.

Honestly I am happy Christian went, because I was so sure he was going far and was possibly going to win, so I am glad I got that wrong, now its more interesting to me.

He can be very persuasive! And I think he would not have made it much farther anyway, because he is very smart and not athletic enough to win a lot of challenges.

Survivor 50: I enjoyed the old-school auction, where people didn't spend their entire stash on one thing, and there weren't penalties for hanging back. I didn't think there was much chaos in it, though, until the end. And if those massive things were the grubs, I'd hate to see the adult insect! I was glad the challenge taking place right afterwards didn't require running, or more than Cirie and Jonathan would have been vomiting!

But a two-hour episode with only one tribal? The tribal must have gone on 45 minutes, with Jeff going on about Mr. Beast for at least 10 of them. So tedious! I imagined a rubber band being stretched out until it broke, while all the time we knew how the flip would come out because there was too much time left to not have a vote.

Once again, we don't know who they would have originally voted out, but I suspect it was Steph in the first place, because they coalesced so quickly around her. I'm beginning to wonder, though, why Jonathan isn't more of a target, as strong as he is.

I've seen hype for this ep but I am not spoiled for who goes, lets see if Im on the side of the hype or not. My usual watch-along commentary in real time.

Lots of "previously on" to remind me of lots! Seems like it will be an episode of idols, real and fake. And that was a lot of a faster pace than the show has been so far... I wish I could watch this in double time, even seems like they are talking at half speed. Ricks revealing the fake just as I was about to get up to get a cuppa tea cos I was bored lol.

Yay auction! I love auction! Oh great, no risk of losing a vote 😀 Comfort or Chaos, thats a cool theme for an auction. Gosh Rick might just be the luckiest player of the season. I'd not risk the milkshake, might have fishguts in it... Luring them into a false sense of security. "imma psycho" hahaha. Oh two grubs is totally worth it, some protein with your cookies. Jonathon has lost weight, so anything in his guts is better than nothing! I usually hate eating challenges but they have made this funny. Everyone getting a nice feast 😀 nice to see.

I dont really know much about Mr Beast at all. I totally zoned out and had to rewind twice when they were all speechless, this is far too slow again. And I still dont know what the chaos is. Double eviction?

Straight to immunity on a full tummy! I hope its not swimming lol. Oh good, this one is suitable enough. Devens getting SO many extra chances to get up there!!! Im glad he tipped out because that was blatant favouritism. They should have been given 20/30 seconds to get into position rather than just when they are all ready to go. Go Tiff good one 😀

I'm a bit worried for Aubry cos shes having such an entertaining episode! No one likes Devens, so he is probably not going to win at the end now anyway (which sucks cos that means he will still be on my screen). Oh Jonathon 🙁 he is playing differently this season so I cant say he isnt in the game! Emily use your big mouth and tell Ozzy this info 😛 Cirie going into bat for her alliance again. Lets hope Joe is smart (sadly not). Good boy Ozzy, agree with Cirie, but I also think playing his idol is better safe than sorry. Jonathon has the swing vote again?

Stefs shirts give away the scrabble edit, shes going from a blue shirt to an orange one, so its obvious this is lots of different before/after conversations being stuck together to confuse us and its more annoying than anything else. At least make it look like its got some flow to it! The edit is on Ricks side again. I'm so sick of him and wish they would get him out. Blatantly favoured. The first person I am hoping for a medical evac on!

Tribal time... Oh FFS more of the bloody Rick show. Someone shut him up! Im so bored of him to the point of blind hatred. They did the scramble thing on the beach this isnt fascinating Jeff, its annoying. GET TO THE POINT.

Flipping a coin. Just one gets to flip the coin? Lets guess, Rick gets to flip the coin? TBH $2mill should be the prize now with inflation. Oh now I want Rick to flip the coin and go home. Jeff is really pushing for his fave boy to get the chance - I bet the coin is weighted to win. So predictable. STFU rick and just get on with it. Such a show pony, and not a pretty one. Cant say I am at all surprised by this. Jeff wasnt going to put his best buddy on the line.

Thats the second time they have zoomed in on Aubrys face when they said "somebody is going home" 🙁 I hope it is not her... and now they are all whispering her name 🙁 aww. Stef and Ozzy are about as smart as each other so they probably shouldnt listen to each other hah. I hate the whispering tribals. Yes Jeff we have been ready to vote for 20 minutes now, get on with it. Stef, who ya gona go for? Aww 🙁 Aubry was the easy vote from there. I probably would have voted Emily though, cos shes not a solid number either and no where near as entertaining. Nice try Stef 🙂 Im glad it was her and not Aubry lol. I liked Stef a lot but she is outsmarted by this cast for sure, and a big challenge threat. Ugh Ricks stupid grin on the way out. I am sick of his face.
