Recast Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Sheesh, I've been battering my head for half an hour it seems.... now, does it have to be the age the actor(ess) is NOW or in general? I like Mina Suvari for Faith and Mila Jojovich as she was in "5th Element" time frame for Willow.... but it does seem very blasphemous all the same..... I like Hayden for Buffy and Johnny Depp for Angel..... but it would be so weird!!!
 
This is definitely too hard. I've watched other shows and thought about other people who would be good in them particular roles but its not something I can do with the Buffy cast.

I liked someones suggestion that Ali Larter plays Faith. She can always dye her hair brown like she does in Resident Evil 🙂

You don't recast perfection, especially when some suggestions include

Buffy Summers = Jennifer Garner or Jessica Beil
Willow = Katherine Hiegal
Xander Harris = Chris Klien
Tara = Michelle Willams
Oz = Chris evans

I was simply making a general observation before on how some of the choices were, quite frankly, silly but since you want my opinion, I'll give it.

Buffy played by Jennifer or Jessica - ok. Well these two suggests are wrong for many reasons, inluding the short and blonde that was imperitive to the core theme of Joss' show.

Willow played by Katherine Heigl - seems to me you're just pulling names out of the air of people you like and to heck with what role so long as you can cast them. This is not to say Katherine isn't a good actress its just she just doesn't have the right vibe to be Willow and OMG on what planet do you live if you believe Michelle Williams would be the perfect Tara to partner Heigl's Willow.
Interestingly, Michelle would make quite an interesting Willow.

Xander Harris by Chris Klein - If you need me to spell out to you why this suggestion is SO wrong then you really need to look again at the wet drip of an actor again.

Oz by Chris Evans?!?! Again, he would be more suited to Xander but as Oz this is truly shocking as a suggestion.
 
ok well I casted Jennifer for Buffy because of her rolde in dark angel I know she could handle the fight scenes...but she also is good at handling the drama aspect...also she pulls off ditzy at times well.

I picked Kathrine Heigal as willow because in my opinion Willow is sweet while at the same time she is feirce and I believe Kathrine to be both...

xander is an awkard kinda cute...in my opinion so is chris klien...i think he could handle the depth xander has though when it comes to his caring for his friends...(there is no replacing Nicholas Brendan and I struggled to think of anyone but the challenge was to pick someone so I did and that was my reason)

I like the idea of Tara being played by Michelle Williams because A: tara is beautiful classicly...so is michelle...and B: i can see her pulling off the lesbian thing...and well I just like her for the part. (you are right though that she would not match a Kathrine willow...but then again I think Willow in all aspects is hard to replace.)

and on OZ, i strictly just plucked Chris Evans out of thin air...he to me looks like he could pull of the warewolf side and rocker side of Oz, but the character played by him would be totally diffrent from Seth Green's Oz however...I personally wouldnt mind a little diffrence in Oz at all. plus I did think of who I casted for Willow and I liked Kathrine and him together so...ya.

but it was suppossed to be something just for fun...SO sorry I offended you with MY choices...Geesh

For Spike,might I suggest Sebastian Roche?

No need to affect an accent(thought it sounds British,Sebastian's French)...same snarky sense of humor....has the necessary experience to convincingly play a vamp who's been around for centuries,etc...

(when I get a chance to think about it more,I'll play the "recast Buffy" game.)

It doesn't matter who you pick...they will always be crap beside the actual cast
 
Ugly Betty as Willow? Frasier as Giles? Veronica Mars as Faith? Cyclops as Spike? Die Hard Nerd as Xander? And somebody else as Buffy? No thanks.

The only one that LOOKS as in physically looks like the character is Rachel Bilson as Cordelia. But she doesn't compete with Charisma.

I can't do it. I wrack my brains until they ooze out of one ear, but it is impossible for me to come up with anyone for a recast of that show's characters. Those roles are just so personalized. Nothing would work.

Interesting though, I've read through similar recast discussions online and someone said they'd cast friggin' Hugh Laurie as Giles. Gotta say, that would have been pretty....interesting.....
 
My favorite ridiculous choice on this site was Conan O Brian as Lorne, but ya know if you kind of warp your imagination a bit....silly, or inspired.
 
Laurie was my pick for Giles...if I actually had done this but I couldn't...I'm actually leaning more and more to inspired with the Conan O' Brien idea
 
Here are my choices:

Buffy: Hayden Panettiere, I guess.
Xander: I could see Nick D'Agosto as Xander (not as good as Nicky, of course!)
Willow: Ellen Page, but no one can replace Aly!
Giles: Hugh Laurie.
Spike: Milo Ventimiglia. Notice I'm Heroes-obsessed.
Angel: An older Gaspard Ulliel (BECAUSE GASPY IS SEX ON LEGS.)
Cordelia: Sophia Bush (is it just me, or does she look a little like Charisma?)

Those are the only choices I can think of right now ><
