Recommend a tv show

So here I am, alone at home and doing nothing of my days because I can't find a job to save my life and thinking: Hey, I would need a new show to watch when I'm done with Friends.

So this thread is for tv shows (old and new/done and still on air) that you would recommend. Is there any show that whenever you watch you're like "I wish everyone was watching that"? Here's the place to tell people 😉 Who knows, it might get others addicted to it too!
 
I'll recommend A Town Called Eureka 🙂 (Well its just called Eureka in the US, but A Town Called Eureka sounds better)
 
I've gotten quite hooked on Once Upon A Time. There is also NCIS LA which I adore, oh and how can I forget Being Human, the original UK version of course.

It did get cancelled in the end but 3 seasons of Veronica Mars is totally worth your time.

If you don't watch yet, I highly reccomend "The Vampire Diaries" and the US version of "Being Human". 😀 Also, "The Walking Dead" is AMAZING!!

I keep hearing about the walking dead, it seems awesome!
I've just rekindled my obsession with Stargate SG-1, brilliant show (though I'm not fond of the spin offs).

Also Castle, Greek and Veronica Mars are all good, though only Castle is still actively on these days.

Veronica Mars, Veronica Mars, Veronica Mars. Even Joss Whedon declared it the "Best. Show. Ever." 😀

And also Breaking Bad. Such a brilliant series, you're mind will be blown. Guaranteed.

okay well my turn to recommend some:

-The Vampire Diaries
Despite the frequent down-episodes where the story seems to go nowhere and the storylines can get sloppy, the show as a whole is really good and addictive

-Supernatural
In my top 5 best shows ever

-Bones
Because David Boreanaz! (And it's a Kathy Reich idea 😉 )

-Castle
Because Nathan Fillion!!! And Stana Katic is really good too.

And of course anything Joss Whedon related XD

I might watch Veronica Mars. I catched a few episodes when it was playing here, so I'll see if I like it.
 
I'd highly recommend:

x Lost: mysteries, people surviving a plane crash, overall plain awesome
x Breaking Bad: 50 years old chemistry teacher is diagnosed with cancer (at a very bad stage), decides to cook meth with former junkie student to pay the bills and make sure his family doesn't lack anything if he dies (with Bryan Cranston, Hal in Malcolm in the middle). It's really a great show that's nothing like I've seen before.
x Veronica Mars, like everyone says, because it's like a Joss Whedon tv show but with another director
x Everybody says Game of Thrones is super awesome so it might be cool too

There are so many shows that are easy to get sucked into. Here are a few I've really enjoyed recently: Prison Break, TVD, Dawson's Creek, Downtown Abby and Roswell. As far as shows that are currently airing, Revenge; I am addicted! 🙂
 
Oh my god, you NEED to watch Star trek! Both the next generation and deep space 9 are brilliant! Before I watched them I thought star trek was just a lame sci fi series with lots of wars and special effects, but it isn't. The characters and the storylines are really thought out and really makes you think. Especially deep space 9, it's a little darker than TNG and the characters really develop there. I promise you'll be hooked after a few episodes! And in deep space 9 armin shimerman who plays snyder has a great part too 🙂

If you're looking for a few funny sitcoms, you should definitely watch Miranda (UK show) and Up All Night (US show!)

Miranda is freakin' hilarious. There's not very many episodes but omg I'm so hooked. 😀
And Up All Night features Christina Applegate and the amazing Maya Rudolph ::heart::
 
If anyone asked me to recommend a TV show, I'd either say BTVS/AtS (which is pointless in this thread haha) or Smallville. Those are my favorite shows.

Other than that, I'd say Nip/Tuck, Fastlane, Tru Calling, and Dollhouse. I'm just getting into Nurse Jackie, so far it's good, but I haven't seen enough to give a real recommendation yet.
 
The West Wing. Aaron Sorkin is the only writer that makes Joss look average when it comes to dialogue.

Suits Another one with snappy, witty dialogue.

If you still want genre stuff I love Warehouse 13, The X Files and Battlestar Galactica
