Seeing Red
Villain
Chapter 1
AN: This is my first ever fanfic. So, ideas and tips for writing would be awesome. Not canon (Of course). A few events happen out of time for when they happened in the series.
Faith took her first step outside as a free woman. The sun momentarily blinding her. Faith could not believe that she had been released for ‘good behavior’ after only a little bit over a year. She was positive that some outside force had played a part in her early release. Though, what a year it had been. When Faith had first arrived she was just a shell of what she used to be. The life, energy, and joy were striped from her eyes leaving a hollow and mournful look to them. It seemed that it had finally hit Faith what she had done and who she had become. The knowledge of that destroyed her.
With the help of Angel, Faith started to make amends for the pain that she had inflected on others. Angel was the only thing stable in Faith’s life, and he became a major support system for her. Angel came by every single week, and then later other members of the Fang Gang started coming to visit Faith also. Being given forgiveness gave Faith even more courage and strength to strive to better herself.
Faith strolled up to the black car with the darkly tinted windows. When she rapped on the window the driver was startled out of his sleep. As the driver got out of the car he was bombarded with an unexpected hug from the dark haired slayer who stood in front of him.
Faith spoke first, “Wes, wicked seeing you here! Was ‘bout to call a cab. How are you, man?”
Wesley cleared his throat and smiled warmly at the girl before answering. ”I am good, thanks for asking, Faith.” Wesley was the last person to warm up to Faith. It was not until after Angel had forced Wesley go to the jail to see how Faith was doing was when Wesley started to believe that Faith had changed. The first time Wesley went down he just watched the interaction between Faith and Angel, Wesley saw Faith crying and apologizing for all that she had done. He saw how different she looked from when he first met her. The lively, energetic and wild woman that he once knew was gone, and in her place was a tormented girl with a broken soul. To think that Faith was not sorry for what she had done, one would have to be blind and deaf. What Wesley saw next shook him to his core, he saw Faith begging Angel to take her life, again, saying that she was evil and did not deserve to live. So many possibilities of what he could have done to save Faith ran through Wesley’s mind. What if he had not called the Council? What if he had been a better watcher? All of the ways that he could have saved this broken girl would not leave his head. That was all in the past though, both he and Faith were able to find forgiveness and finally understanding of each other, that would led to a growing friendship.
Faith hoped into the car, “So, whatca gonna be doing today, Wes?”
Wesley gave Faith a taunting smile, “Oh, you will see…..”
After about thirty minuets of pointless driving around LA they arrived at the Hyperion Hotel. “Wow, you guys really fixed this place up.” Faith grabbed her bag and headed inside. When Faith reached the doorway and walked inside, she saw all the arrays of food and decorations set out.
Angel walked over to Faith and gave her a hug. ”I would have come and picked you up, Faith, but you know, the whole sun issue.”
Faith warmly accepted Angel’s embrace, “This is wicked man. You should not have gone through all of this trouble.”
“I wanted to, you deserve it. Also, I think Cordy would have ended my un-life if I had not.” Angel smiled at the troubled girl that he had grown close too. Just as he mentioned Cordelia she rounded the corner into the lobby. She shrieked when she saw Faith, “Angel! Why did you not tell me that Faith was here!” She lightly smacked the broad chested vampire. ”Faith, how are you enjoying life as a free woman, again? I hope not having too much fun,” she said with a wink.
As Faith was about to respond Cordelia went in for a hug, “Well Queen C, can’t really say. Wes just picked me up and dropped me off here. But you know me, five by five like always.”
Faith gave everyone her signature cocky smirk, “Man, a girl could get used to all of these hugs. Maybe I should go to jail more often.” The looks that Faith got caused her to burst out with laughter which made the others join her shortly.
Faith was then introduced to Gunn and Fred. She and Gunn hit it off right away; they talked about their favorite weapons and other really random stuff. Anyone who had not known that they had never met before would not have been able to guess.
Faith’s introduction to Fred was more stressed. Whenever Faith tried talking to her, Fred would ramble off about crazy scientific stuff that Faith could not follow. Fred also kept asking Faith about the perfect taco, which Faith had no idea how to respond to.
After about four hours of parting and hanging out the sun had dropped but everyone was still having a good time. The memories of their pasts were being pushed farther and farther back. Then all of a sudden somebody burst through the front doors yelling, “Angel, I need to talk to you. Did you know that, that, that murderer was released from jail?”
Buffy came inside and looked around at the party confused until her eyes locked with Faith’s.
“B…..” Whispered Faith.
Buffy ignored Faith though, as she sprinted back through the doors.
“BUFFY!” Shouted Faith as she chased after Buffy, with Angel closely behind.
