Joan the Vampire Slayer
Carpe Spuffy!
So, we were reading "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" and some others by Coleridge in my British Lit class, and it totally reminded me of that conversation between Mal and Inara when he says something about an albatross being the good luck charm until some idiot killed it (can't find the exact dialouge to save my life) and he replies with:
"Yes, I've read a poem, try not to faint."
Then I realized they're totally talking about that poem! I was pretty delighted. Maybe everyone already knew that and I'm really behind, who knows. Anyway.
Anyone have any other references they've found in the show?

ILLYRIAN
In the film Serenity, when Mal went to Inara's aid after her wave to him.
