Angel didn't lose his soul with Darla 'cause he didn't love her. He lost his soul when he had dream sex with Cordy in "Awakening" 'cause (DB said this in aninterview when asked why Angel said Buffy's name.) he liked the feeling that the sex gave him, but not sex itself. buffy didn't want to break up,it was angel,coz he loved her too much and wanted the best for her.


FOREVER THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT​
 
But what does "forever" really mean? Does it mean there love is internal and they will never stop loving each other, even if they won't ever be together again in this reality (read my sig) or that they will one day end up together and stay like that forever? Has Buffy truly absorbed the meaning of forever in "The Prom"?
 
Well, honestly.... If they are SO much in love and neither cares about a sexual relationship (Which obviously they do, Angel's Quote: "... someone who can take you into the light. Someone to make love to you" and Buffy putting so much energy into her sexual relationships with Parker, Riley and Spike)

-then: They should be together now. If all that matters is love, which is said that they have the greatest eternal love EVER, then why are they apart? You can give examples of certain things, Angel didn't want to hurt her, The curse (which by the way, is SEX WITH BUFFY, not sex in general, but with her... but that doesn't matter right?)

It's hard to believe that they are not together just because they do not want to hurt each other or get hurt themselves in the process. LOVE HURTS. Get over it. So, do you see where I'm coming from?
 
SpikedBuffy, we've had this argument before. Remember?

The curse prevents Angel from having a true moment of happiness and it doesn't have to be sex. He left because he felt that she deserved more. That she deserved someone who doesn't have to control himself around her. The tension will always be there because they cannot lose control of themselves. Let me ask you this, have Buffy and Spike ever truly tried to force themselves from touching each other when they're close? I'm not talking about an "I wanna have sex right now" kind of way, but in an "I want to be with you" kind of way. They don't. Buffy just stays away from Spike and I don't know if that amount of trust that was broken in S6 has ever been retained, but she does respects him and Spike really loves her, but I don't think she loves him back in the same way. Angel is and has always been Buffy's one true love and I really believe that.

Sorry if I sounded so sappy. It came out that way.

if she loved spike as much as the spuffys think,why the hell didn't she want to stay with him??he's nice,hot,sweet and smart...what's the trouble?:he isn't her true love
 
kinda hard to stay with someone when your last moments together are during the last seconds of an apocolypse.

She could not stay with Spike because she had to save her life and leave the hellmouth before she was engulfed in the collapse.

And don't say... 'well, if she loves him so much, she should've died with him and stayed with him until the end' Because if that were the case, Buffy would've been over when Acathla was awakened and Angel's soul was restored. She should have stayed with him if she loved him so much instead of letting him die to save the world.

I can't explain why she didn't correct Spike at the end on the 'i love you' business, but I don't really think anybody can. But if you are choosing to be blind in the Buffy/Angel relationship, then it is also my right to be blind in the Spike/Buffy relationship.
 
IWRY is undoubtably one of the best episodes ever, I cried my eyes out at the end, and even my friend Ashley who is not a Buffy and Angel fan had a tear in his eye at the end (although he swears he didn't, we all saw it though.) I am one of the die hard B/A Shippers and always will be, there is just something about those two when they are together, their acting comes to life. I dont hate the Spuffy relationship, unlike some B/A Shippers I know I did not stop watching Buffy when this relationship was introduced but I do believe Buffy and Angel belong together.

In "IWRY," Buffy wanted to stay awake so her day with Angel could keep happening. They were soooo in love. Has it ever been like that when Buffy and Spike were playing footsie under the rubble? Spike undoubtably loves Buffy, but I never thought she loved him back. We all deserved to be blind, but this is my honest opinion. Spike would die for Buffy in a non-existent heartbeat and so would Angel. It's a matter of who she truly loves and I think she will always love Angel.

Yeah, I've heard that quote six million times.

And just to be funny..... yeah, she loved him more than anything in THIS life, but she did just die a few years ago and was reborn. So, which life did she love him in, and which life is she currently living now?

I think this was a really good episode, it made me cry so much though, epecially when buffy goes "buts thats not enough time" omg
 
What really made me start crying hard is when SMG said the line, "How can I go on with my life; knowing what we had, what we could've had?" She's such an amazing actress.
 
I love the ep, it was one of my favorites. I think it is my favorite, in the profile thingie.. Anyway, after seeing the way they loved eachother so much, I cannot understand how Angel can love anyone else--I mean I see why he loved Cordy, but at the same time he and Buffy were supposed to be forever, and it ticks me off.

Spuffy forever 😉
