Riley has gone.

Getting back to Riley... I still don't think the direction his character took was "natural" for him, given is behavior in the beginning of S4.

I loved Riley. I honestly didn't mind him with Buffy, although I didn't at first, and I still knew that he would unfortunately fall at the Bangel hurdle at some point or another.

I don't think he ever wanted to be a 'bad boy' though. His role in the Initiative was for the best intentions, it was about helping people and doing the right thing for him, not being all macho and impressive.

And even towards the end, well season five, when he lost his 'super human stuff' I don't think he reacted the way he did because he wanted to be a 'bad boy'. I thought it was more about the fact everything he thought he knew up until that point was a lie, and on top of trying to deal with that and getting support with it, he was trying to support his partner through her problems but she couldn't give a monkey's about his problems or him wanting to help with hers so...yeah.

i really really reaLLY think riley is the hottest guy ever to appear on the show on season 4 he was just yummy would have enjoyed him in season 6 and 7 if he hadnt left

LOL Well, physically, I thought Parker was a lot sexier, but that's just 'cause I tend to prefer darker-haired men with light eyes over blondes/redheads... But yeah, Riley was definitely nummy eye candy. 😀

I found Riley tedious, at first I thought his character would work but didn't make the mark for me personally. He came across as a sulkey spoilt kid at times who could not face the fact that the Slayer was better than he was. However, there was one episode I thought was good/funny, can't remember the title - Buffy and Riley are trapped in their pad and forever making out, the more they did the more the house was possessed.

At first I liked him, but only when he was trying to meet Buffy, better and know her more when he realized he liked her, but after "doomed" he was all a macho like "men strong, women weak"


I dont know if im the only one who noticed , when he didnt like that she was stronger than him and he wanted her too change and be more girly girl so he could be the hero i dont think he truly accepted her for what she is,

I don't think that was the main issue between them. I actually think the issue is more tragic than anything else. Yes Riley did have problem with Buffy's strength but that wasn't the reason. Riley response was to Buffy shutting him out of her life, which coincided with him losing his strength. Riley actually said that he liked that Buffy was strong. It must have been hard because he gradually lost everything in his life that mattered and all he was left with was a girl who was more focused on the mission, while he was focused on the relationship. Ah, well. I don't think Riley is the whiny sexist pig everything seems to think he is.
