ooh!! interesting new addition. can't wait to see where this goes.
glad to see we're back to the Connor/Dawn stuff...that's my fave part of the story! lol
your writing is really good, i love the fluidity of the piece, and you seem to have nailed all of the characters.
plus, Connor art, how can that be wrong? 😉

Buffy walked nonchalantly through the graveyard. She waited patiently for Urban to ask her what the hell they were doing in a graveyard, and what on earth it had to do with his son. But so far, he remained silent and followed close by. She stopped next to a newer tombstone and turned to face him. As she did, his head snapped upward instantaneously. He began to blush as she realized he had been checking out her rear.
"Are you alright?" She asked as she turned a slight shade of crimson herself.
"Yeah, looks good. I mean..I'm fine! Thank you." Urban stared at the green grass beneath his feet and shook his head in embarrassment. "But may I ask what exactly it is we are doing here?"
"Just stay close to me and be patient. You'll see." She winked at him and turned around slowly.
For several minutes they continued through the graveyard. Just as Urban opened his mouth to object again, Buffy paused. She reached back and grabbed something from underneath her jacket, but he could not make out what it was.
"Are we..." He began timidly.
"Shhh!" She hissed as her back straightened, and she stepped forward.
Just then the dirt from a nearby grave began to stir, and Buffy revealed what looked like a wooden stake to Urban.
"Take this!" She said with great urgency as she shoved it at him.
Pausing a moment, obviously baffled, he chuckled. "Buffy...Are you serious?"
Sighing in frustration, she reached in and stuck it inside his jacket. "Just take it Vance...It's show time."
Reaching inside her jeans pocket, she retrieved the chopsticks she had used to dust the vamps less than an hour before. While she did this, a hand protruded from the dirt, and a burly vampire crawled from the earth. He towered over Buffy, eyes blazing, and teeth showing. Shaking off clumps of dirt and roots, he growled. "Slayer."
Urban stood paralyzed, with no expression on his face. He couldn't will himself to move as he watched her attack the vampire. She hit him repeatedly in the face and chest. With each blow he took a step back, eventually falling backward over a nearby tombstone. Taking advantage, Buffy leapt atop him, delivering another set of punches. But it was only a matter of seconds before the vampire picked her up and threw her aside. Kicking up his legs, he leaped to his feet. She too had managed to get up, and the two advanced once again. This time he landed a strong punch to her left cheek. It split and blood began to drip from the wound. Salivating, he took only a moment, and continued with the punching. He drew his fist back and put his whole body into the last of several punches. Buffy flew backward, landing on a large, awkwardly shaped tombstone. Her back cracked, and her jacket tore.
Instantly getting angry, Buffy leaped to her feet. "Ooooh, that's it! Do you know how much I payed for this thing!?"
Using a nearby bench as leverage, she delivered a flying kick to the vamps stomach. He doubled over and she kicked him again, only this time in the face. His lip split and he guarded his face with his hands. Glancing momentarily over at Urban, she saw a second, smaller vamp, approaching him from the rear, "Vance!" She shrieked and pointed a finger past him, "Behind you!"
He spun around hastily. Just quick enough to put up his hands and block a punch. The vampire pushed him to the ground and the two began to wrestle. Buffy continued to kick. Her opponent flew backward. He lay motionless next to a deteriorating memorial statue. Jumping atop him once again, she straddled his abdominal region. With a vicious thrust she drove the chopsticks through his chest and into the ground. He groaned, rolling his eyes sarcastically before he turned to ash.
Instantly she turned to see where Urban was. He was lying on his back with the vamp on top of him, about ten feet away. He was using all of his strength and both hands to keep the vampire at safe distance from his neck. Without hesitation, Buffy sprinted over to them. Standing behind the vampire, she grabbed it by the hair, and thrust the sticks through it's chest swiftly.
Once the ash settled, and a moment passed, Urban rose to his feet. Dusting off his jacket, Buffy looked up at him and smiled sheepishly. "See? Not nightmares....reality."

damn, but you can write!!
i loved this. you've really nailed Buffy's character. her mannerisms, her speech, everything is just perfect. the fight sequence was very well written, and i like her she explained things to Urban. very matter of fact 'hey, i do this everyday'
great work.

Short entry today kiddies...My apologies. But more soon!!

Faith nodded, ignoring the hand. "That's a name?"
As she spoke she continued looking him over. Except for the blindingly white hair, there were no noticeable tell-tales to show he was in fact a demon. But she could sense it way before he stepped out of the shadows.
"The name my mother gave me." Wolf lowered his hand and smiled again.
Gasping a bit, and stepping backward, she noticed his teeth. They were just as vibrant as his hair, but sharp and pointed, like an animals. Dawn had approached slowly to join the two in their conversation. She also noticed and gasped over-dramatically.
"Sure...Faith, Wolves are carnivores, and you're right. I think we should get out of this alley." She began to retreat back to where Connor stood.
" It's a name doll, not a lifestyle." He chuckled as he spoke, removing his sunglasses.
Behind them were two large, charcoal gray eyes. They had a metallic hint about them. Mesmerizing, and there was no white to them. They were like two dark, bottomless pits. Faith found it extremely hard to look away.
"However, I can see in the dark. Makes it a little easier when I'm tracking blood-suckers." He wove his Oakley's into his thick hair and set them on top of his head.
The topic aroused Connors interest and he took a step forward. "Yeah, But can you fight?"
Wolf nodded and pulled a guitar pic from his left jeans pocket. He began to roll it through his fingers as he spoke. " Let's just say I can hold my own."
Connor gave him a once-over and grinned, extending his hand. "Names Connor...I could use someone like you on my crew. Well...if i had a crew. But hey, ya gotta start somewhere, right?"
The two men shook hands. Wolf stepped forward and cocked his head slightly. "You got some demon in ya, kid?"
Rolling his eyes, Connor huffed sarcastically. "No, completely human. But for some reason I give off that impression."
Faith snickered, "Wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that both your parents are vampires, now would it?"
Scowling, he turned to face her. "WERE. Both of my parents were vampires...But I'm NOT."
Faith put her hands in the air and took a step backward" Whoa. Didn't mean to offend, kid. Just stating the obvious. Angel was five-by-five in my book. I was damn sorry to hear that that crappy law firm took him down."
Wolf wore a coy grin on his face and nodded toward Connor, "Angel...as in Angelus?"
Faith answered before he had the chance," Not Angelus. Not for a long time. His name was Angel. And how do you know him?"
"We fought a few times. Mostly after a few drinks or a losing game of Texas Hold 'em. I heard he had reformed. Sorry to hear 'bout your loss, kid."
As he spoke he stuck the pic back into his pocket. "Hey, anyone for a drink? I know this stellar establishment down the boulevard that has cheap martinis and bad karaoke. Are you game?" He looked directly at Faith as he spoke.
Connor began to laugh heartily.

nice update, partner. love this aspect of the story. for some reason, i think Faith, Dawn and Connor fit well with each other, and i like their reactions.
Wolf's a nice touch. the art work rocks. can't wait to see how he fits into everything. he knows Angel, which is very cool. i liked Faith's reaction to him, it was very her. and her reaction to Connor's outburst. cool.
can't wait to read some more!!

Faith grinned sheepishly," I'm game."
Dawn took a step forward, as she and Connor exchanged glances. "Sorry guys, Connor and I have had our drinks for the evening. Now we plan on finishing our date. But if ya need a lift on our way to the house, hop in."
"The House, huh? Well lookey here...Dawnie's all grown up. Better play it safe Connor-my-boy, or Buffy will cut ya off and hand it to ya... But I will take you up on that ride... Wolf?" She looked each one in the eye as she addressed them, causing them all to blush momentarily.
"I've got a ride, further down the alley. How about you ride with me? Let the kids get on with their evening?" Wolf stepped closer to her as he spoke, until he was no more than a few inches away. He could sense her body warm, as well as his own. Faith nodded.
"Alrighty then." Dawn chimed as she opened her car door and got inside. Feeling a little paranoid from the nights events, she stole a glance into the back seat before she started it. Completely empty.
Connor had already started to make his way to retrieve his vehicle, and the other two waited patiently there in the alley until the young couple were mobile. As soon as they drove off, Wolf turned to Faith and smiled slightly..."Ready, then?"
Taking a step back, extending her hand, she grinned. "Demons first, please."
Chuckling softly, he leaned in again. This time he brought his face to hers, almost kissing her. "Cute. But I'll have you know that I am only half demon. The other half is very much human."
Faith was hypnotized by his shimmering eyes, and motionless. She couldn't bring herself to speak or move. Wolf hesitated for a brief moment, and harbored thoughts of pulling her in and kissing her passionately. But after a few deep breaths, he turned and began walking down the alleyway. Quickly awakening from her trance, she followed, eying his finely sculpted rear the entire way.

Buffy sat in Urban's Dining Room table, waiting for him to return with the coffee, and fidgeting. She removed her jacket and took a look at her left arm. It was cut and bleeding. She stood, panicking. "Dammit!" She held her arm, perusing the carpet and chair to make sure she had not left any stains. There were none that she could see. Just then, he arrived carrying two steaming porcelain cups. He frowned at the sight of her, and set down the cups. "Are you hurt?" He rushed to her and removed her hand from her arm. He then noticed the cut across her cheekbone and traced it with his finger. "Oh damn. Wait here."
He was gone no more than a few seconds before he entered again with a first aid kit. Buffy smiled, and shook her head. "There's really no need for all that, it..." Urban grabbed a handful of cotton balls, moistening them with peroxide, "Shut up Buffy, and sit down. I've seen your tough girl act, now it's time for you to be a little vulnerable." Stunned, she sat.
"Well, I must say...It's at least a little bit of a relief to see that my son is not crazy. But more than a little terrifying at that." He spoke as he dressed her wounds.
He had a soft touch, and warm hands. He covered each wound after cleaning them, and sat atop the dining room table, facing Buffy. So far, they had completely ignored their coffee. "So, you really are this vampire slayer in Gabriel's dreams, aren't you? Tough gig for such a beautiful young woman."
Buffy turned a shade of crimson and looked down at her hands momentarily, "You're taking this very well, Mr. Vance. Surprisingly well, in fact. I expected this to go a little differently."
Picking up one of the cups, Urban sipped the steaming beverage. It fogged his glasses, therefore causing him to remove them and set them on the table next to him. His eyes were large, and vibrant. "It takes alot to shock me these days, Miss Summers. I've been through alot. And I must insist that you call me Urban. I think we're past the formal greetings, Don't you?" He reached out and tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, letting his hand linger to trace her jawline.
Breathing heavily, Buffy stood. She could still smell his intoxicating cologne every time she inhaled. His eyes bore into hers and her entire body flushed. "I best be going now,Urban. I will see you and Gabriel tomorrow morning."
She turned to snatch her jacket off the back of the chair. Urban then slid off the table and grabbed her wrist softly.
"Stay." He pleaded softly.
Refusing to look him in the eye, she paused. This is wrong, she told herself. He was the father of a client for gods sake! Walk away Buffy! But she remained motionless. "I- I suppose I could keep watch tonight. Make sure nothing happens." She continued to back away from him as she spoke until her back was against the Dining room wall.
"I think you know that's not what I mean. Stay...with me. Not because you have to, because you want to." As he spoke, he moved in on her, placing a gentle arm around her waist. Their eyes connected, and her knees became weak. After a momentary silence, he leaned in. Kissing her softly, he pulled her body into his. She could feel the hardness of his body, and she wrapped her arms around his neck. The kiss lingered, becoming harder and more passionate with each second. As they kissed, he began to unbutton her shirt with one hand. Her heart beat with the strength of a thousand horses as his kiss moved from her lips to her neck. "Oh...my.." She whispered softly.
Just then the room illuminated with light, and the maid entered. "Senior Vance, I...Oh!" She covered her eyes and turned quickly as she realized what she had walked in on. "I'm so sorry Senior. Gabriel's asleep now. May I go to bed?"
Urban stood in front of Buffy as she buttoned her blouse, and tried to recover from their encounter. "Yes...please. I was just about to do the same. Goodnight."
His servant left hastily and he turned to face Buffy once again. He took her hand and shut off the light, "Come with me."
