She took a deep breath to try and steady her nerves, "You're fine. I mean...You're not late."
Instantly standing to greet him, she leaned in for a hug. "I hope the restaurant is okay? I've never been here before."
Connor paused, speechless. He looked her over long and hard before he found the breath to speak. "Th-the restaurant. Sure, fine. You look...wow!"
Giggling softly, her face warmed. "Back at ya."
They stood awkwardly for a moment before Connor pulled her chair back to offer her seat. He held the chair as she sat, and then made his way to his own. Dawn stole a quick glance at his rear as he did so. Pleased, she picked up her glass and took a sip. " What are you drinking?"
As she spoke, she raised her hand and motioned at a nearby waitress.
The chunky brunette made her way to the table quickly, "What can I get for you, sir? A drink perhaps?"
He glanced across the table at Dawn and smiled, "What's in your glass?"
Returning the smile, she held her glass by the base and swirled it. "Dom. Do you like?"
The waitress chimed in, "Ah, yes. Dom Perignon...Excellent choice miss. The same for you, sir?"
Connor shook his head, " No thanks. I'll take a Black and Tan. Oh, and can I get that in a mug, not a bottle. Frosted preferably."
Smiling the woman wrote it down on a small pad of paper and scampered off.
"Sorry, I guess my taste in beverages hasn't matured yet." He spoke with a playful grin on his face.
Dawn leaned forward, with an elbow on the table and giggled, "Quite alright. I like a man who knows what he wants."
Laughing, he loosened up a bit and leaned back in his chair. " So, how is your car? And by the way, have I said how sorry I was about that whole incident? "
"It's not a problem, really. It's in the shop until Thursday, I've got a rental. How about yours?" She crossed her legs and folded her hands atop the table. She had gotten her nails done special for that evening and wanted to show them off a bit.
The crimson of her nails almost perfectly matched the shade of lipstick that she wore that evening. Having noticed that, Connor found himself staring at her soft, and pouty lips.
His body began to flush, "Um, yeah. Same here, except I'm driving my roommates car. So what do you do for a living? If I had to guess, it being Hollywood and all. I'd say a model...or an actress. Am I close?"
Dawn tossed her hair back and laughed, " You're sweet...But way off. I'm an interior decorator. I have an office not too far from here. I just graduated a couple months ago, so I'm just starting out. But I've had at least one famous client so far. And you? What is it that you do?"
The brunette waitress approached the table at that point, and set Connors drink in front of him. "Will there be anything else? Would you like to place your order now?"
Dawn scowled slightly and waived her hand, "Not yet."
She disappeared once again into the crowd.
Connor grasped the mug and took a long drink of the foamy beverage before speaking. "I guess you could say I'm a...bounty hunter. So far, no famous clients....all of mine are pretty nasty. I'm looking to establish a crew here shortly. I guess I'm just tired of flying solo.
His choice of careers slightly aroused her and she grinned sheepishly, "Hmm, kind of a...dangerous...line of work. What about your roommate? He isn't a bounty hunter too?
Bursting into laughter, he set his mug down. "I'm sorry. No, he owns his own martini-slash-karaoke bar down the street from our house. He's not exactly what you'd call a mans man. As a matter of fact...if he didn't talk about Angelina Jolie almost obsessively, I would think he was gay. Do you have your own place?"
"Nope. My sister and I have a house. It's actually not too far from here, if you wanna check it out after dinner?" Dawns face turned a shade of scarlet as she spoke.
Blushing himself, Connor grinned. "I'd love to."

ah, i was wondering who the room mate was gonna be...nicely done. can't wait to see how that goes.
this update was so cute! i love Dawn and Connor as a couple...my second choice for Dawn, if my first choice was for Xander works out! lol
i can't wait to read some more...i wanna see what happens!

I love it when two threads in a story are on a collision course, and the characters don't know it! It's like watching one of those "greatest cop chase" video shows...you know the big boom is coming, just not when!

WARNING: FYI...This next installment gets kinda graphic for a second.

Buffy approached the abandoned warehouse with caution. The two vamps that had gone in a few minutes earlier hadn't emerged yet, and there was a light on in one of the rear windows. She had staked out the premises since just after dusk. With all the undead trafficking in and out, She was certain that this was the place in Gabriel's vision. On the right hand side of the building there were two doors, one of which was badly mangled. The chain and padlock that once held it shut were busted, and the deadlock was gone. It almost looked as if somebody had taken a sledge hammer to the entire door. Pausing for a second, she listened for voices. They sounded distant, like they were in a far room somewhere. But she didn't want to take a chance of walking into an ambush, so she tiptoed to the nearest window and peaked in. The room inside the door was empty, and that's all she needed to see. Grabbing her stake from her jeans pocket, she quickly slipped in the door.
Once inside she could hear a baby crying in the back and the sounds of a woman whimpering. She walked slowly, following her ears. She could hear several male voices. They were very irritated and loud. It seemed the vamps were arguing over who got to feed first. She continued forward, weaving in and out of the empty shelving throughout the room. A mouse scampered across the floor, and over the toe of her boots. Buffy scowled and grumbled before pausing. She pressed her back up against the wall. Across the hall from her she could see the young couple and the infant huddled in a corner and a large, filthy dirty vamp sleeping in a chair by the door. The arguing however came from the room directly next to her. She raised her stake and took a deep breath. As quietly as possible, she tiptoed across the hall into the room where the sleeping vampire guarded the door. Swiftly, and without thought, she staked him as he slept. Clean and fast, over and done. The couple raised their heads, surprised, and gasped in unison. Buffy quickly put a finger to her lips to silence them, and shook her head. She then pointed across the hall, and mouthed the words "stay here" as she made her way toward the door. The father nodded in agreement, and she left the room.
She crossed the hallway and entered the vamps room stealthily. However once inside, the vamps sensed her almost immediately. Eyes glowing and fangs exposed, they snarled. There were five of them, all larger bodied. The closest one hissed at her, "Slayer." She held her stance and smiled sheepishly, "Awww, c'mon boys...don't be upset. I didn't mean to crash the party...I just wanna dance!"
The five of them rushed her, yelling and growling. Buffy thrust her stake at the closest vampire, and he was dust within seconds. In a panic, she slipped the chopsticks (in which were used as a hair accessory that evening) from her hair, and lunged forward. One stick per hand, she dusted two more vamps. The remaining two vamps fell back momentarily, and began to inch apart. Moving toward opposite sides of the room. She took a few steps back and stuck the chopsticks in her back pocket. The larger vamp of the two snickered and continued to move to her left, "Aren't you the one who likes to ride her victims before she kills 'em?" They both chuckled heartily and started to close in on her. The smaller vamp rushed up behind Buffy, pinning her arms behind her. "Thats right...rumor has it that vamps really get you off. We'll just have to see about that, won't we?"
Struggling, she cringed as he pressed himself against her backside. He nuzzled into her neck , tracing her ear with his tongue. The second vamp moved in on her, ripping her jacket open. He leaned in, resting his head upon her bosom and inhaling deeply. "Mmm, nice. Lets see if you feel as good as you smell, Blondie." He stepped back momentarily and unzipped his jeans, letting them fall to his ankles.
Embracing the opportunity, she used her captors grasp as leverage. Throwing her weight back onto him, she threw her knees up, connecting with the others groin. He moaned and cussed, quickly hitting the floor. Then without hesitation she threw her head back, breaking the second vamps nose. He released his grip on her and threw up his hands to hold his face. Blood gushed onto his shirt, and he hollered. "You bitch!"
Buffy lunged forward, swiping her stake up from the floor. Once it was in her hand, she rolled into a somersault. Stopping next to the half naked vamp as he hugged his groin and whimpered. She took a second to watch him suffer, and then staked him with extreme force. Standing, and turning to face the last vampire, she smiled. "Oh, didn't I tell you?" Rushing forward she grasped the vamp by the throat, pinning him against a nearby wall. His legs flailed, and she leaned in to say her final words. "I like it rough."
Just then she plunged the stake straight through his heart and into the wall behind him. Once he was dust she hustled into the the other room to check on the family. They were standing now, and smiling. Upon seeing her enter the room the wife handed the infant to her son and scurried across the room to Buffy. Throwing her arms around her neck, she began to cry. "Thank you! Thank you....so very much. You saved us, thank you!"
Returning the hug, she exhaled. "You're welcome, hon. Let's just get you three home, okay?"

OMG I love it. Its really good, please write more!!!

I think you really nailed the characters, very rare to find someone who can do that well.

Nice fight scene, NSM! You described the scene very nicely, it was easy to "see" it, and the fight was good...liked the chopsticks! Buffy's repartee was right in character too! Keep going!

Connor wrapped his jacket around Dawns bare shoulders as they walked toward the Restaurant door. "Here, just in case it's gotten cold." Dawns cheeks turned a slight shade of crimson, and she smiled coyly. "Thanks." He then stepped ahead of her slightly, opening and holding the exit door. "Ladies first." She took a single step, and then without a word, leaned forward and placed a soft kiss on his cheek. He grinned bashfully, and continued to hold the door as she made her way out.
Once outside Dawn turned to him, "I'm parked down the alleyway...where are you?" He pointed across the street to a nearby parking garage. "I'm there. But I'll walk you to your car, and then if you want to wait while I go get mine..." Connor began to fidget and looked at his feet as he spoke, "I'll follow you?" Dawn stifled a giggle, and entwined her arm into his, "Sounds like a plan."
They moved toward the alleyway , gazing at each other reticently and grinning. Just then Dawns cell phone began to play "I Love Rock and Roll" from inside her purse. "Shoot," She mumbled as she rummaged around trying to locate it. In moments she had found it. Glancing at the caller ID she rolled her eyes, "I'm sorry...It's my sister."
Flipping open her phone abusively and once again rolling her eyes, she huffed. "What?!"
"Where are you?" Buffy questioned, ignoring the hostility in her sisters voice.
"On a date....See? Busy. So what do you want?" Dawn scowled into the phone.
"With the traffic violator?" Buffy chuckled at her own humor and continued to tease her, "Did you make sure he has a pulse? I seem to remember the last date you went on..."
Eyes widening, Dawn gasped,"OH! You're one to talk Miss Demon-Magnet!"
Suddenly remembering she was in company, she giggled nervously. Covering the phone as Buffy ranted, she smiled reprehensibly. "Not real demons, of coarse! All of my sisters boyfriends have been, like...well, evil. I'm so sorry, I'll just be a second."
Connor smiled curiously and nodded in agreement.
"I'm going to hang up now if you don't tell me why you are calling!" Dawn lowered her voice, but spoke with a stern tone.
Buffy was increasingly amused by her sisters frustration, but decided to give the pestering a rest. "I just wanted to let you know that I won't be home for a while...I have a couple more stops to make. Also, Willow will be flying in tomorrow, and we need to make up the guests room. She'll be staying with us for a while."
Dawns frown turned quickly into a smile, "Will's coming!? That's so awesome! But I thought her and Kennedy were visiting some temple thingy in Istanbul?"
"They were. But something serious has come up. Something I'll need your help text booking. But we'll discuss it tomorrow girlie....Enjoy your date." She spoke hastily.
"Okay, tomorrow then....OH! By the way, Connor and I are going back to the house, so feel free to not disturb us when you get home." Giggling into the phone, she paused to wait for Buffy's reaction.
"What?! You're bringing this guy home on the first date! I don't think..." Buffy howled on the other end.
She cut her off by quickly shutting the phone. Satisfied, she turned it off, and spun to face Connor. She gave him a slow, seductive smile. "Are you ready?"
Connor extended his arm to her and returned the smile, "Shall we?"
As they made their way down the alley Dawn could see two large objects sitting atop her car. "What is that?"
Connor tightened his grip on her as they got closer. Within seconds they could see that there were two men sitting on top of her car. Both large, and rough looking. One wore a leather bomber jacket, and had a Marlboro hanging from his lips. The other had torn jeans and a scar across his left cheek. They both eyed Dawn meticulously as the couple approached.
The first had a low, raspy voice. "Now there's something I'd looove to sink my teeth into." A wicked smile played across his face, as he continued to look Dawn over.
The second ran his tongue across the inside of his teeth and inhaled, making a soft hissing sound. "No question. So tell me young thing. Why are you wasting your time with this little boy here...when you can have yourself a real man?"
Connor hovered in front of Dawn, scowling at the strangers. "Your not a real man...Are you?" He spat sarcastically and took a step forward.
The strangers chuckled in unison and the first hissed softly, " I believe he was talking to the lady."
Dawn wore a look of disgust and brushed her way past Connor. "Can you just get off my car, so we can go now?"
Grinning, the second stranger slid off the roof of the car and leaned back onto the drivers side door. "Awww, c'mon now sweet thing. We were having ourselves a nice conversation. You don't want to be rude now...Do you? I'm Zeke...and this here is my buddy Tony."
"Charmed I'm sure." She mumbled sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.
Connor stepped forward and grasped her elbow, trying to keep her close to him.
Zeke grimaced and kept his eyes on Dawn. "C'mon sugar...I'll make you feel like a woman. I can do things with my mouth that are to die for!" Just then the two erupted in laughter.
"Your mouth hasn't impressed me so far. Now can you please just go!?" Dawn waved a sarcastic hand in the air, as if to shoo them away.
Within seconds The man lunged forward and grabbed her. He pinned her arms behind her with one hand and wrapped his other arm around her waist. Connor rushed forward, but not before Tony slid off the roof in front of him. Within seconds both had transformed into what Connor had suspected they were all along. Vampires. Their eyes glowed a bright yellow in the dark shadows of the alley. Connor cussed himself silently for leaving his stake in his jacket when he gave it to Dawn. Without a moments hesitation, he jabbed the intercepting vamp in the face with a left hook, followed by a right. The blows were returned in full, and the two began battling. Dawn began struggling, to no prevail.
Just then, a slender figure moved out of the shadows and toward them. "I'll give you one chance to let the girl go, meat sack." Growled a feminine and familiar voice. Connor stopped fighting, and Dawn seized the struggle, speaking simultaneously, "FAITH?!"

"Meat sack"...and "your mouth hasn't impressed me so far"...love it! And again, you've got the Buffy/Dawn repartee down just right. I can hear her talking when she's explaining the demon remark to Connor...you got the intonations and the words just right.

Love the piccie that goes with it...sexy...mmmmmm!

Now for the big reveal...😉

hey, partner! i can't believe you made me wait this long for an update! lol

Faith continued to approach the scene, focused on Dawn and her attacker. "Yeah, S'me. So what's it gonna be, chump? Either way your odds don't look good." She spoke directly to Zeke as she moved toward them.
The vampire sneered, showing his fangs. He released his grip on Dawn with one hand to prepare for Faiths attack. "Faith, eh? You must be the other slayer. Rumor has it you're not playing for the home team anymore. What happened, Got tired of taking second place?"
Grinning coyly , she reached into her back pocket and pulled out a stake, " Quit buying your National Enquirer at the re-sale shops, dead-boy. That's yesterday's news." As she spoke her last words, she briskly reached out and grabbed his free arm, jerking and twisting until it snapped. A howl pierced the silence of the dark alleyway. He dropped to his knees, releasing Dawn to grasp his arm. "You bitch!"
She moved in on the injured vamp, grasping his jacket with one hand and hoisting him in the air. "Pretty much, " she said mockingly before she threw him up against the vehicle.
Dawn scowled, and gasped. "Hey! Watch the mobile! It's rented!"
As Faith began to pummel him, she immediately turned to check on Connor.
He seemed to have the upper hand on the situation. The second vampire was covered in his own blood, and his defense tactics had begun to slack. Connor threw him into a nearby pile of trash, and lunged atop him. He threw his fists swiftly. One after the next into the vamps face and chest, leaving little time for his opponent to retaliate. He caught a glance of Dawn hovering, as he threw another right hook. "Get me something wooden!" He hollered anxiously. Reaching into her purse, she pulled out what looked like a tube of lipstick and threw it at him. "Here! Put this on!"
He held the small tube in one hand, and the vamps throat with the other. Looking at her like she had just flown in from another planet, Connor scowled. "What...the?" Dawn sighed, and rolled her eyes, "Just open it!" He flipped off the plastic top with his thumb, and out popped a wooden stake. Taking a second to chuckle at how ridiculous the concept seemed, He thrust the piece of wood into the vampires chest.
Standing up, over what was now a small pile of dust, he threw the stake back to it's rightful owner. He walked slowly over to Dawn and gently put one hand on her waist, "Are you okay?" She gave a bashful smile, "Yeah, you?" He nodded.
She put her utensil back into her purse. Glancing over at Faith, and back, she frowned slightly. "So...You know Faith?" Connor watched as Faith dominated her opponent, "Yeah, you?" She nodded, still frowning.
The two took a step back, each wearing a questionable expression on their face. They stared at each other for a brief moment, before speaking in unison. "Who are you?"
Just then there was the sound of a vicious thrust, and an imploding vamp. They both looked over as Faith approached them, grinning. "Allow me." She came to halt, putting one hand on each of their shoulders. "Connor babe, this is Dawn. Little sister of Miss Buffy "I'm Superior" Summers. You know, the slayer?" Her gaze switched from him to her and she wore a look of amusement. "And Dawnie my child, this is Connor. Angels son!"
She watched as both of their jaws dropped, and they stared in astonishment. Chuckling at the situation, Faith took a step back and brushed some dust off of her denim jacket. "So..." She began in a nonchalant tone, "Were you two on a date, or something?"

Buffy glanced at a tattered piece of paper she had retrieved from her pocket, and verified the address on the house before her. "5000 Terrace Ave...jackpot." She stuck the paper back into her pocket and took a deep breath. As she walked up to the residence, she scoped her surroundings. Beautiful landscaping, Big, luxurious vehicles, and tiny lights along the sidewalk that lit as you walked. It fascinated Buffy as she made her way to the door. She stopped momentarily and retreated a few steps so that she could watch the bulbs extinguish, and illuminate all over again. Giggling to herself, she reached for the door handle just as somebody opened the door. It startled her, "OH! I-I'm sorry...I didn't expect...Well, is Urban here, please?"
The woman standing at the door was very portly, yet well kept. She was dark skinned, with salt and pepper hair. Her attire was that of a housemaid, or servant, and her smile was very polite. "May I ask who's requesting his presence, ma'am?
"Sure, I apologize. My name is Dr. Summers...I'm Gabriel's doctor."
The woman looked her over for a brief moment, then nodded. Buffy glanced down at her casual attire and grimaced. "I should have brought a change of clothes."
After a moment of waiting, Urban arrived at the door. He still had on his leisure suit from earlier, however the shirt was unbuttoned, and the belt and jacket had come off. He looked surprised, "Hello Buffy...I mean, Dr. Summers. Please...Come in." He held the door and politely waited for her to enter. Once inside she gazed at her surroundings. Everything was very posh and elegant, "Wow...you have a lovely home Mr. Vance." As she spoke her eyes moved from the interior, to him. He smelled so good, like an ocean breeze. She found herself staring at his extremely toned chest and abdomen, blushing instantly. "I-I'm sorry. I know it's late...But I would like to talk to you? About Gabriel. Could you spare a minute?"
He stepped back and motioned for her to continue into the next room. "I'm free, please...come in and sit." He lead her to a dimly lit room, with a fireplace ablaze, and two plush, velvet sofas adjacent to each other. There was nothing else in the room except an enormous statue of a lion, and a beautiful antique piano. She sat timidly on one of the sofa's and crossed her hands in her lap. "I know it's all a bit much. My ex-wife loved to live the life of luxury...Would you like any tea? Coffee? I have a wine cellar if you'd prefer it?"
Buffy shook her head and smiled politely, "No, thank you. I'm fine." Urban sat across from her and returned the smile, "So what can I do for you Dr. Summers?"
Instantly regaining focus, her back straightened and she cleared her throat. "Mr. Vance, do you believe in a higher power?"
Urban frowned for a second, and leaned forward on the sofa, "Are you asking if I believe in GOD Miss Summers?"
Buffy shook her head and sighed a frustrated sigh, " No...Not really. Okay, let me ask you this. What would you say to me if I told you that your son is not having psychotic hallucinations, and that the visions he sometimes has are 100 percent true."
"I'd probably ask you if you were joking, or if maybe, you needed a long vacation." Urban quipped, laughing nervously.
"This is very serious Urban. I'm not joking as much as I wish I were. I understand that this is going to be a hard pill to swallow for you, so I think I'd be better off just showing you what I mean. Is there somebody here to sit with Gabriel? I need you to come with me." Standing, she fished her car keys from her left jeans pocket.
Standing hesitantly, he nodded, " Y-yes. Maria and the other servants are here...But are you absolutely sure this is necessary?"
Reaching out and putting a hand on his shoulder, she smiled warmly. "Positive...Don't worry. I promised Gabriel I was going to fix things, and I will. But I need your help. Please...It won't take long."
Buffy followed him back to the front door where his jacket hung on a nearby hook. He grabbed it, and hollered over his shoulder, " Sere detras mas adelante, Maria!"
They walked out the front door and Buffy quickly bypassed him, leading him toward her Lexus. He paused about half way there, "Can I please, at least, ask where we are going?"
Hitting a button on her hands free remote, the car started and she smiled again, "Please...trust me."

HEE HEE!! loved it!! it's getting really good. i loved Buffy's reaction to the lights, very in character.

Dawn glared at Faith, as she rummaged inside her purse with one hand. "Vampires! I mean, do I have a tattoo somewhere on my being that says "Bloodsuckers only". Gah! Buffy was right, I should've checked for a pulse!" Just then she found her keys, snatching them and heading for the car. Faith hastily grabbed her by the wrist as she passed.
"Woah. Slow down little sister...Connor's not a vampire. He's cool. So can the dramatics, huh?"
Silent, and obviously confused, she walked slowly up to him. He wore an amused smile as she leisurely looked him over, "Y-your not? How is that possible? Buffy said Angel and Darla..."
Softly putting a finger over her lips with one hand, he took one of her hands in the other and pressed it to his chest. "See? All heartbeat, all the time. I promise." Without another word, he brought her hand around to his back, pulling her closer. He pressed himself up against her, running his free hand through her hair. "Can we finish our date now?"
Dawn melted, limp in his arms. "But...Buffy."
Connor smiled, "I don't care about your sister...I care about you. Besides...It's none of her business."
Without another moments hesitation, he pressed his lips to hers hungrily. He tasted her cherry lip gloss and took in the scent of her perfume. Dawn placed a hand on the back of his neck, the other she placed on his chest. It rose and fell heavily, heart beating fast.
Faith looked away, rolling her eyes. "Hate to break up you lust-bunnies, But can we get out of this alley already?"
The kissing stopped and they both glared at Faith. Just then from the dark corner of the alley came a soft, yet deep voice. "Awww, let the kids have their moment, slayer."
All three quickly poised attentively. Judging from where the sound had come from, Faith stepped in front of the other two. "Alright creep, shows over. Why don't you come on out, and we can have a niiiice talk." Reaching for her stake, she was stanced for a fight. A tall, physically fit man stepped out of the shadows. He had on a half unbuttoned white shirt, rolled at the sleeves, stonewashed jeans, and what looked like a brand new pair of boots. His hair was stark white, and wavy. Almost as if he had aged before his time, but his skin was without a wrinkle or a blemish. The Oakleys he wore on his face permitted them from seeing the rest of his face.
"I'm not a vampire, so you can put that stake away. Also not here to cause any trouble, babe." The corners of his mouth turned up in amusement as he spoke.
"You'd be surprised how many demons I can kill with this thing." Faith growled as she gave him the look over.
Putting his hands in the air as if he were being arrested, he chuckled. "Okay, okay...So I'm not human. But that doesn't make me a bad person!"
Continuing to laugh at his own joke, he took a few steps forward.
"I live just down the alley. I was going to give these two a hand with their undead car jackers, and then you came along. I figured I'd stick around in case more vamps decided to crash. I swear, I'm not here to hurt anyone."
Faith looked him over pretty obviously, pausing a minute on his toned chest and his thick arms. She hesitantly lowered her stake and slipped it into her back pocket. "Alright...Who the hell are you?"
Offering a perfectly manicured hand, he nodded. "The names Wolf."
