Sarah's movies (Horror movies in point)

Ok so according to the list that I have Sarah Michelle Gellar has been in 33 roles (a few of which are uncredited). Of those 33 roles 6 have been horror/suspense movies. I really think those are her best movies. She is great with the action and the screaming.

Although I do have to confess the I have got so into Buffy that When I watch "I know what you did last summer" or "Scream 2" there at her death scene I sometimes find my self saying "Kick his ass Buffy!" LOL.

So I think that horror and action is her best genera. (although "Cruel Intentions" is f***ing amazing). So what is some of the rest of your input.
 
I agree I think she is so strong in I know what you did last summer and Scream 2 as well as The Grudge. She just does great.
One of the things I love about Sarah is she is good at everything in a way so she is really good with Horror and action like you said but she can kick butt in dramatic like roles like Cruel Intentions.
 
I hate horror movies. I've seen IKWYDLS once, but I can't really remember it. So I haven't really seen a horrormovie with Sarah in it, though I'm thinking about watching once, just for Sarah 😀
I do think she's brilliant in Cruel Intentions and I love her in comedies, because she has such a cute smile and she's clumsy cute.
 
I have to say being a big kid love Scooby Doo (shes kinda kick ass at the end lol) but IKWYDLS, The Grudge & Cruel Intentions are among my favourite movies ever, shes good at the horror stuff I have to say, except I try to block out The Return as that was a crap movie lol
 
I think she excells in just about every role she plays, whether it's horror, action, or comedy. She seems to appear in more notable horror movies though. I need to watch I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions.
 
I've only seen her in Cruel Intentions, Simply Irresistible and Scooby Doo. I liked her fine in all of them, but the only one that really stood out was, of course, Cruel Intentions. Can't say I'm much of a fan of her, really.

I know that I'm gonna get jumped on if not completely expelled from the Boards for saying this, but I haven't seen Sarah in a single movie that I can honestly say that I liked. Now, before the attack starts, let me qualify that by saying that, without exception, Sarah has always delivered an excellent performance in anything that I have seen her in, but, whether those are the only roles that are offered to her, or just the only ones she feels comfortable enough to accept, her movies have always been on the bottom of me "If there's absolutely nothing else to watch" list. About the best thing that I can say about Sarah's movies is that they aren't as bad as "The Source."
 
I loved all of SMG's movies she did in the 90's. I thought she made good choices for roles and the scripts weren't too cheesy (and shut yo mouth about "Simply Irresistable; I love that movie! LOL). However, the roles she's had in the last few years I thought were crappy and I would LOVE to see her take on a really deep, emotional role. Something Oscar-worthy.

I actually really like Simply Irresistable, it's just so awesomely cheesy. But it's nothing outstanding ;)

I think her best movie after 90's was Veronika Decides To Die, but I agree, it would be nice to see her in some deep and powerful movie, so she can show people her abilities like she showed us in Buffy. I think SMG needs to be more then Buffy.

Honestly, I think that's mainly because she had a poor agent (who she recently fired).

I'm not saying that SMG is the greatest, most beautiful actress who has ever lived, but I do think she's along the lines of a younger Jennifer Aniston or Sarah Jessica Parker, and would be more than equipped to do those types of roles in both the talent and looks departments.

Yeah, Clooney absolutely nailed the role in "Batman and Robin." (Just kidding. "Men Who Stare At Goats" was hilarious)
Sarah deserves better roles than she has got recently. Her acting ability can't be questioned. I'd love to see her back in the limelight again yet i don't think she minds being involved in these small budget films.

She strikes me as someone who isn't obsessed with fame and just loves what she does. She loves acting and will choose roles that she finds interesting not necessarily roles in films that will be a success.

"Veronika decides to die" for instance was a film she probably knew wasn't going to be a box office hit but she took the role because she was interested in the story.
 
I really haven't seen that many of her movies, but she's definitely an outstanding actress. I still think that Buffy will always be her legacy in the same way that Patrick Stewart, say, will always be remembered for his role in Star Trek, but of the handful of movies I've seen her in, she's always been top-notch (although those roles have never been even a fraction as demanding as her role in BtVS).

Personally, I don't necessarily think that horror and action are necessarily her best genres, so to speak, but rather the genres with which she's generally associated by virtue of her years on the show. As a result, all the roles she gets offered tend to be in this category. But she can play just about any role. She was fantastic in Cruel Intentions - perfectly captured the sadistic, manipulative nature of her character (and pretty darn kinky in the role too).
 
I love I Know What You Did Last Summer. Recently watched it, even.

The Grudge/2 I didn't like. That movie even scared my Dad, LOL. But I found it lame.

She performs so well though that even if the movie sucks, she makes it somewhat enjoyable.
 
Was she any good in "Southland Tales"? I kept seeing mixed reviews of that flick and it kinda put me off of watching it.....

I actually love her in Southland tales, of course I love the whole movie, it's right up my alley. So I think SMG did a terrific job with her part but from what I've heard the film is a bit of an acquired taste

Well, that movie is hard to watch. It's not simple. People who don't like to think say it's bad, people who are interested in that kind of movies say it's good. Watch it and then decide 🙂
