Would you mind telling me why? I'm really not being argumentative about it, I genuinely want to understand what parts of the series have led you to see their relationship this way!
I'm with ya, Flannen. I saw no chemistry or anything particularly appealing about Cordelia's relationship with Angel. On a romantic level, anyway. I saw no kindred soul in her.
The whole relationship was forced and nonsensical. Angel being a protective friend? Sure. Understandable. And even cute. But the rest? Nah.

I haven't even seen the whole Angel/Cordelia thing on screen (I'm on my rewatch and I never got that far first time round; that relationship being one of the reasons!) and I'm still against. It has got to be something so inspiring and convincing for me when I get to it, or I'm gonna be maaad! 😛

For me the best partner for Angel is Darla. Darla is such great character... And she truly feels something for Angel which is not the case of buffy( sorry for the Bangel).

Well, even though I really don't like Bangel, I can see why you might like them because Angel was Buffy's first love, but to me it seemed like she had to make him want to kiss her by telling him that, or she was always the one to start a kiss, oh god does that make sense? Well anyway, also their relationship seemed like it was only kissing and sex. And to me, Angel seemed happier when he was with Cordy or Darla. Well at least Angelus was happy with Darla. Even though Buffy turned Angel into Angelus because he had true happiness, there is no doubt that if Cordy did have sex, without acting or doing whatever, that he would turn into Angelus again.
No way. What would happen in that instance is that the entire universe would implode at how wrong and against the laws of nature those two having sex is. Oh, look, just by thinking it a star just burnt out and died! (sw)
I'm sorry, I'll be serious now. I'd like to be able to say I see where you're coming from, but I really can't. Nothing wrong with that though, we just see it differently! But I do struggle to see that they're relationship was about kissing (ok, yeah, that's a given) and sex; considering that for half their relationship they knew it wasn't a plausible option. Yet they didn't love each other any less.
And even in later episodes of BtVS and Angel I just think they showed that there was SO much more to them than that and that in fact the physical/sexual side of things was really, right at the bottom. After Season 2 anyway! 😛

I don't think any of them really suit Angel. Not Darla, because she distracts him from his real mission. Definitely not Cordelia, to me it didn't work. I don't think Buffy is meant for Angel either. If they were both normal humans, then sure. I liked him and Nina together okay, she seemed to make him happy and he seemed to genuinely like her. My only issue here was that she saw as to much of a hero, and not enough like a partner.

I glad to see their is a very large number of Cangel fans on this board. When I first entered this thread, I thought Buffy would be winning by a large margin. But, I'm glad to see Cordy is winning.

I can't believe Joss had the nerve to say that the fans did not like or care for the Cordy/Angel relationship. He must have only been listening to the Bangel fans when he said that because I see Cangel fans everywhere all over the internet.

Perhaps it is something that has grown since the episodes first aired? I know that my own hate of Cangel has waned as time goes by...

You make an interesting point. Despite my almost rabid love and support for Cangel, I can't deny the obvious mutual understanding that went on between him and Faith. Like she said, Angel was the only person who never gave up on her. He believed deep down she was a good person worthy of redemption - like him.
Plus, she's obviously attracted to him; we saw that clearly in 'Enemies.'
And I agree satam55: it's nice to see some Cangel fans around here. I too thought Bangel would be in the lead.

I think I would like to see an Angel and Faith relationship. I've heard some people say that they believe their relationship was more like a mentor relationship, but I disagree. Something has always irked me about Faith/Spike in a romantic relationship, and as I mentioned earlier I definitely couldn't see Angel with anyone we've previously seen him with.
I think they would be good for each other. They definitely have (pun intended... ooooh-err) Faith in each other. They seem to have a unique way of bringing out the best in each other. I also can't ignore the fact that they look super hot together!

Since I'm a Cangel I'm glad about that too. But I can't help but wonder if it's the help of the Spuffy fans that just don't want to see Bangel win that's what make Cangel being in the lead.
Hey! I'm a Spuffy and Cangel fan, so I never want to see Buffy and Angel be together ever again.
