I too voted for Firefly. No contest. Buffy and Angel had their glory. Dollhouse got a fighting chance...but Firefly was squandered. Firefly, in my opinion, had the potential to be the best sci-fi show ever made (maybe even better then *gasp* Buffy...) and it never got the chance to prove to us what it could do. The concept was so original and the characters so extraordinary and yet so common at the same time. Damn, it always makes me depressed with I think about Firefly... *sigh*
The popularity of the show is pretty incredible, considering it only had a little over a dozen episodes. Everyone loves Firefly. I'm hard-pressed to find anyone in my general age bracket who hasn't heard of the show, and seen it. Here, where I live, the Firefly meet-up group has over 4 times as many members as the Buffy one I belong too. Also, they show Serenity every year at the outdoor movie theater, and have trivia and everything. It's pretty crazy.

Never got to watch DH yet, so I passed on figuring that in... and between Buffy, Angel, and FF, it really is no contest.
We've got lots of the Buffyverse (even though more of it would be cool, of course), but I've definitely not had my fill of Kaylee (and Kaylee/Simon *winks at Shempy*) yet with a mere dozen episodes and one movie. 😉

If Joss wants inspiration for the season, I dare say I could offer him The Debt Collector (And return of). I would like that, but maybe I'm biased. Oh, and guess who's on the same table for the awards night!

Yep. One in which you'd have to watch Bangelcentric episodes like "Amends" and "IWRY" over and over and over again, till eternity.

Firefly by a long shot, for the exact reason WA said, they hadn't scrathced the surface yet, and there was so much more. Even though there was a feature film, it still left you wanting more.
Angel would be the only other option as I hated the crappy ending we got (I don't care about metaphors, they can stuff that!)

I agree about the night, but even with that it couldn't even keep the numbers it was getting on a friday, those numbers actually went down, and it was given a second season, so I think it was given a decent chance.
And the only reason it got intense was becasue it was canceled, if it hadn't been it would have trodden along at it's slow pace anyway.
I'm sincerely not trying to go all fanboy on everybody, and I know it's definitely about to come across, but I still disagree.
Yeah, Dollhouse was different. Yeah, it was hard to get into, and even harder to actually catch on TV. But at the end of the day, it was a really solid show with phenomenal acting, writing, and an even better premise. To prove my point (which actually isn't really proving anything), every Saturday morning I had to go out to the living room to watch my DVR'ed DH. The problem was that my mom is a complete TV (reality) nerd, and it's hard for me to actually watch any show I DVR. However, my mom finally gave in and just started watching it with me, and by the end of the 1st season my whole family was just as entangled in it as I was.
I don't know about you, but for me (and obviously quite a few other people around the world) it's pretty hard to catch an 8:00 show on Friday. There is always something going on whether it be social or school-related, and it gets extremely tedious and annoying trying to catch an hour of television that should be very easy to watch. I can't believe Joss actually went back to Fox, and now it's apparent that he made a bad choice going back. Sure it got a lot of publicity before the show started, but after that... nothing except hardcore Whedonites trying to spread the word as best as possible.
Also, I'm still backing my argument that Fox didn't even let Season 2 (Yes, just S2, not talking about the series as a whole this time) try to get good. Imo, it was Belle Chose when it started getting great and Belonging when the show really hit its stride, and don't even get me started on the last few episodes. Can anyone say epic?
And lastly, if by slow-pace you mean month long breaks initiated by Fox, then yes, it would have if not canceled, but if they would've left the show just play it's course, one episode per week, on an actual good time slot, I have no doubt that it would've gotten MUCH better ratings than it did.

I agree totally. Dollhouse was a phenomenal show with an excellent premise and excellent casting.
Buffy had it's run, and got an ending that really suited the series. Dollhouses finale also seemed pretty final, so another season of that would be kind of pointless.
Firefly gets my vote. Seriously, it makes me mad every single time I finish the DVDs. The River storyline that is never going to get finished is what bugs me the most. And all the background behind Blue Sun, that would of been really interesting, isn't even gonna be explored. Sigh.

I'm on the Firefly bandwagon here.
There were so many stories in the 'verse that we never got a chance to see. So many adventures we could have had with the crew.
Its likely that we would have gotten the River/Reaver story drip-fed to us over multiple seasons, more of the Blue Hand Men (whose storyline was tied up in the excellent Joss penned Those Left Behind comic book - well worth reading if y'all get the chance), the relationships growing between Kaylee and Simon and Mal and Inara.
Of course, if the show hadn't been canned we wouldn't have gotten such an excellent movie with Serenity.
And I gaurantee you, if Firefly was given a 5 season run, Joss would have destroyed the characters and their relationships like he always seems to do. 😉

It was really hard not to vote for Buffy. My mouse went there like a reflex. Then, just before I voted, I remembered that Firefly still had so much more to say. And we have another season of Buffy. It's called Season 8. And Joss even said there might be a Season 9. So those characters are still with us, having new adventures.
I'd have to say Angel.
I know it's dumb but I both loved and HATED the last episode. There was something missing. We never saw the freaking Senior Partners(I was hoping for it the whole series), and the antagonists at the end were terrrrrrrible... Even evil Cordelia was better than them.
Also more Spike + Angel ::bbat::::bbat::::bbat::: popcorn: I read all the AtF comics but I just don't feel like it's the same. AtS should have kept going, and we should have seen more development with characters like Lindsey(HE SHOULDN'T HAVE DIED!) and Illyria.
Also I always wondered, what was that panther in the white room meant to be for anyway? I always thought it would lead to something, but nah.

That was a REALLY hard choice, between Dollhouse & Firefly. I feel like Buffy and Angel ended well, with things as wrapped up as they could ever be. I felt terribly dissatisfied with both Dollhouse & Firefly. They were amazing concepts, and had worlds of potential. In the end, I am the sole Dollhouse voter. I loved, loved, loved that show. I hate that they had to pull together an ending so quickly.

"Angel". I prefer "Buffy" as a show but felt it was more complete as it is. "Angel" got cancelled (what the fùck? by the way) and GOD it makes my head explode when I think the whole Illyria situation was supposed to be only temporary seeing how Willow was supposed to separate Fred from Illyria, into two distincts bodies. And now as far as we've seen it on TV, this will never happen, Fred is really dead and that's the most depressing thought ever.
Plus the whole Hell A thing would have been great to watch. Something like AtF would have been really fine by me.

For me its Buffy. I watched Dollhouse and for whatever reason i never got into it. I've not watched Firefly and i feel like i should after the reactions of some people in this thread it sounds really good. Although with it only being one season it might annoy me. I'd love another season of Angel but i think you could easily get some of the cast from Angel into Buffy. Angel and Spike could slot back in. After watching the early seasons of Buffy i realized just how good the show was and i'd love another series.

I fell in utter love with that show. I'm crazy about it. I started at the beginning -- which meant each week I was hoping, praying it wouldn't get cancelled. And then it did. And then it ended, and I was so horribly upset.
But with Buffy, Angel, Firefly...I came in with the knowledge that they were gone. Their losses really didn't affect me. Besides, we have Buffy s8 and potentially s9 in comic form, what is effectively an Angel s6 in comic form, and a Firefly movie that sums things up quite nicely. Sure, Dollhouse got an ending, but there's still so much more story to tell.
So yeah, I think Dollhouse should get another season.

Buffy ended. I mean, they really ended. Angel was canceled using that awful way of telling the writer in the middle of it. I´d love to watch more Angel.... Imagine all that stuff from the comic played of screen? Would be awesome! And I miss Angel :cry:
