Now"¦ the $56.4 million mark is the main issue of concern for me as it not only extends the presumption of it just being the latest scripted narrative set to consume the masses, but it also sets in the realisation that it's main objective isn't to reach the depth of the audiences intellect or try and inspire any sort of new brilliance from the current "money+new theme=big demand" blueprint, but to sadly just generalise itself with the rest of the media injected, commercially-driven segment of the film industry a.k.a. mainstream Hollywood: Marketing and Advertisement being the obvious primer. Usually wishing to sell more than to shine and within reason only settling to grow a short-lived lifespan like every other crass, insignificant bi-product of America's money-making machine that tries to consume the public each day.
Remember though, this is an issue of concern not attack"¦ I have yet to see the film. I also understand I can't tread much further without stumbling over any hypocrisy as all films need some level of success, it's just when the key to success isn't the film itself, once again mainstream Hollywood springs forth rather adjacently, then I have no other premise apart from to believe ALL films of this nature will fall short of anything I'll enjoy. That's me, this is personal preference and I'm your humble jive bunny. Then again I also know not many folks actually give a damn, I mean that's partly why everything I mention above is still so accepted in the first place, no surprise there. For I'm quite sure Scooby does its job to satisfy the main bulk of the populous and I'm also sure many easily-pleased will find it a captivating and worthwhile hour or so in the *cough* modern arts of cinema viewing"¦ I'm just saying, well it's not, lol.
Not for me anyway"¦ I mean I don't know the demographic range it's trying to focus, whether i fit in it or why I should get the impression that I should see, I sure as hell don't want to and come to think about it I won't be pushing myself to go see it in the near future, ok"¦ clear, good. In hindsight, am I really that arrogant to say that if I do venture out to see the film, I won't be just wasting my time at watching something that will essential only satisfy the content, not the critique? Insight: a computer-aided dog, tactless feedback to when I was five years old and hype based on a certain character... Scooby Doo will be nothing more than a short-lived success, just like every other big budget accolade. As for this post, no major intention, line of reasoning... just had the urge to rant for a while.
