$56.4 million at the box office this weekend from Friday to Sunday. I just read it in the newspaper. That is damn good, and I'm very happy!😀 I haven't seen it yet, but I will when I'm done taking my finals at school. I can't wait.😛

Thats really good. I'm hoping to see it soon too...

Well done Scooby Doo!

Yay! Go "Scooby" and Sarah! 🙂 I'm going to see it today with my best friend. I'm thinking of going "Whoo!" when Sarah's name comes on screen. 😉

I think all of us should shout and scream when Sarah's name comes on the screen! Then maybe it would be in the newspaper, KIDS MAKE RACKET AT MOVIES all over the world! It could happen...

Really? In what ways was the movie bad?🙁

Well... it started out fine, but the dialogue was lame, Shaggy was annoying, and the audience was very quiet during the last half of the film.

Well I liked the movie I thought it was very funny, and for once the audience wasn't totaly quiet during the film. I'll admit there really wasn't all that much of a story but it was made up for in other ways. I thought Scooby Doo was a very cute movie and so did other people I know that have seen it. But really you don't know what you think until you've seen the movie for yourself.

Well, at least some people liked it. I don't care; bad reviews ain't going to stop me from seeing it.

Now"¦ the $56.4 million mark is the main issue of concern for me as it not only extends the presumption of it just being the latest scripted narrative set to consume the masses, but it also sets in the realisation that it's main objective isn't to reach the depth of the audiences intellect or try and inspire any sort of new brilliance from the current "money+new theme=big demand" blueprint, but to sadly just generalise itself with the rest of the media injected, commercially-driven segment of the film industry a.k.a. mainstream Hollywood: Marketing and Advertisement being the obvious primer. Usually wishing to sell more than to shine and within reason only settling to grow a short-lived lifespan like every other crass, insignificant bi-product of America's money-making machine that tries to consume the public each day.

Remember though, this is an issue of concern not attack"¦ I have yet to see the film. I also understand I can't tread much further without stumbling over any hypocrisy as all films need some level of success, it's just when the key to success isn't the film itself, once again mainstream Hollywood springs forth rather adjacently, then I have no other premise apart from to believe ALL films of this nature will fall short of anything I'll enjoy. That's me, this is personal preference and I'm your humble jive bunny. Then again I also know not many folks actually give a damn, I mean that's partly why everything I mention above is still so accepted in the first place, no surprise there. For I'm quite sure Scooby does its job to satisfy the main bulk of the populous and I'm also sure many easily-pleased will find it a captivating and worthwhile hour or so in the *cough* modern arts of cinema viewing"¦ I'm just saying, well it's not, lol.

Not for me anyway"¦ I mean I don't know the demographic range it's trying to focus, whether i fit in it or why I should get the impression that I should see, I sure as hell don't want to and come to think about it I won't be pushing myself to go see it in the near future, ok"¦ clear, good. In hindsight, am I really that arrogant to say that if I do venture out to see the film, I won't be just wasting my time at watching something that will essential only satisfy the content, not the critique? Insight: a computer-aided dog, tactless feedback to when I was five years old and hype based on a certain character... Scooby Doo will be nothing more than a short-lived success, just like every other big budget accolade. As for this post, no major intention, line of reasoning... just had the urge to rant for a while.

Well I'm looking forward to seeing the movie, even though the reviews have all been bad (all the ones I've heard and read). I think sometimes the 'reviewer people' don't realize what a certain movie is really meant to be. I mean Scooby-Doo isn't supposed to be this brilliant movie with an amazing script. It's SCOOBY-DOO! Didn't these peeps watch the cartoons? It's supposed to be silly dialogue and such. Anyway, just my two cents 🙂

But speaking in context, I believe opposing "reviewer people" sometimes overlook the point you've made without realising that films also have the preference for the reviewer to actually dislike it due to it *not* being a brilliant movie without an amazing script. If however you're content without an amazing script and the brilliance you talk about, then that's just an individual opinion, not a relevant claim against reviewer's critique. If a film isn't brilliant, then why should it be anything else?

...And ranting you did do, Oz! Dang. I'd like to see you put all that ^ into one sentence.😉 I'm a childish little person, so odds are...I'm going to love this movie. Pathetic, I know. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you somehow fall in love with it as well.

Not childish or pathetic FiveByFiveB, not at all. You're perfectly entitled to your on views and if for example Scooby Doo turns out to be your best film you've seen, then not I or anyone else can say otherwise... I just you know won't be agreeing that's all. 🙂 Point is despite everything i say, everyone has varied tastes, emotions, beliefs, etc"¦ and I just like seeing that being shared around the boards alot more; see how far people will go, how much things mean to them"¦ I mean discussions around here can sometimes get a little flaccid or tedious and being as it's always predominantly about Buffy, I'm always up for a good debate, taking things a little further and all that jazz. Who knows, maybe we all can evolve at some point, lol? More than anything though I just hope people take me lightly as I'm really not as spiteful as it seems when delving into subjects (well I try not to be). I just like a good argument, that's all.

As for the film, well I surely won't be hoping with you there, but you never know... I may succumb to the idea? 🙄

I love a good argument but everytime I try to start one here the other person starts agreeing with me. So do you want to argue a little? Up for a little old fashioned debate?

Why thank you Oz. Will you being seeing the movie even if it doesn't appeal to you? I usually wouldn't see a movie if I think it's going to be poor. I really don't think Scooby Doo will be my favorite film of all time, that's for sure. It's cute; I'll give it that much, but amazing? I highly doubt it. I do agree, people are permitted to like what they feel is important to them. I like that about these boards; everybody is unique around here. Nobody is one in the same...I couldn't ask for a better environment for myself. Now, as far as debating goes...I'm no good at that. Don't worry, I'm not taking anything you say in a contending matter.

Oh Oz, you sadden me with your negative thoughts on this movie. It surely will make you smile.😀 🙂

lol....i agree with FiveByFiveB...lol come on Oz...itll make you smile...lol...im kinda childish too so your not alone !!!!ok i didnt read all that you said Oz so im really kinda out on this conversation....what are we debating about Angel'sLuv?
