Scrapped Storylines/Arcs in the Buffyverse you liked...?

I can see Joss thinking about killing Xander but then settling with the one eyed thing, it makes sense. Personally i'am glad he went with that idea, seeing Xander die would have been a painful moment.

I don't know about JW planning Buffy's death, so I won't deny it. but I know I've read somewhere that Dawn was supposed to be the one that dies in that particular episode, I'll post a link when I find it.

From the Watchers Guide Vol 3 -

"In the interest of keeping the true ending of this episode from leaking, there were several different scripts, all with slightly different ending, circulated. Here is how the script for one alternate episode ends:"

<insert basically the end of The Gift but Dawn dying instead of Buffy>

So from the way that is written it does not sound like Joss every considered killing Dawn instead of Buffy, just wanted to try and throw people off the track.

Also, I agree with the people that say the Buffy dying plans had been dropped into the script as early as Season 3.

caitaintdead agrees: I would have been pro a Spander relationship. Spike would have been great for Xanders character growth.

I agree. Plus S4 would have been twice funnier. 😀 I wouldn't minded Anya being Giles' girlfriend if it meant Xander and Spike being together.

Same with Xander being part of Glory, never heard of it. Espically since they were planning on having Anya die at the end of the season, no way they would kill off Xander.

"The original idea was to have Anya die in the rubble, Xander be Glory's other half (instead of Ben), Willow was going to become evil after Tara's death and join forces with Glory, and Dawn was to be bled by Evil Willow in the end, and Sunnydale was supposed to be completely destroyed by the Hellmouth."

Spander and Ganya would have been epically awesome!

the link sosa lola posted shows the ending where Dawn dies, I was 100% sure I read it somewhere, I know wiki isn't reliable, you can search for the alternate ending, because it is around the internet somewhere.

Plus, he really rocks that eye patch!

The wiki mentions an easter egg on the season 7 dvd of the original opening with clips from all the previous seasons. Does anyone know where to find it?

I can't believe no-ones mentioned the original second episode of Angel, entitled Corrupt and written by David Fury, it was deemed to dark by... well everyone actually 🙂

David Fury, who wrote this episode, had written a script called "˜Corrupt' in which Kate was a police officer working undercover as a prostitute who was actually becoming a prostitute and was addicted to crack. That was originally the introduction of Kate. Obviously we were still trying to figure out what the show was at that point. This was the first episode after the pilot, and it was written before the new staff arrived. They just went incredibly dark with this thing and decided at the end of the day that it was a little bit too hopeless, a little too grim. After that episode was written it was actually being prepped when the network, too, had some concerns about it.

This ep would have replaced Lonely Hearts and I would like to have seen it. It's sounds very, very bleak but I like that sort of thing. That said, I also think it would have established far too dark a tone for the series & made the writers jobs very difficult in continuing in that vein. I wish it had been made then scrapped, so it could appear as a DVD extra.

Wow, that really is bleak. And I agree that it should have been made then scrapped so we could see it as a DVD extra!
In City Of Angel was supposed to drink Tina's blood, but they cut it out, thinking that losing Tina was dark enough.

Yeah they actually just faded it early. You can still see him lift his bloodied fingers to his mouth, as it's fading out.

Yeah I actually forgot about this episode, I've read about it a long time ago. while I might have wanted to see it, I don't think Kate in this episode would work for future plans.
