So Scott Foley & Matthew Lillard will be in the new Scream, what's your thoughts?
I'm not that thrilled. Its possible their planning the idea that Williamson was originally going to do for Scream 3 (when Lillard was originally going to return), though I don't know how that would fit in with the original writing plan. Its not be confirmed yet if their both still alive, as it could be a in a flashback or even as part of an AI plot which has been rumoured. I'm more interested in Foley returning, because there's much room for improvement with him. I don't see any reason to bring Stu back, but maybe they'll prove me wrong.
The premise of the film is Sidney facing the “ghosts” of her past, which pays homage to both the start of the franchise and the requel plot of Sam seeing the ghost of Billy Loomis (her father). So I’m not mad at it.
It’s been confirmed that David Arquette will also make an appearance, probably to both Sid and Gale.
It will be interesting to see Sid’s new life in Pine Grove. I’m wondering how they write Sam and Tara out of this film, since originally this was going to be the “finale” of the requel trilogy.
I’m glad that Chad and Mindy will be back, cause u do like both of those characters. I hope Chad has a limp, in homage to Dewey surviving multiple insane stabbings with nothing but a limp.
Kevin is directing it, and Neve signed off on the film after meeting with the writer and understanding the vision behind the film, so I’m sure it will be good. I’m hoping we get an 8th film out of the set up for this one.
It’s the only horror franchise I know that has a story arc with the same characters through 7 films, and the writers and directors of this franchise really do put so much effort into ensuring quality. There’s so many actors in this one that I hope the kill count is high. We were promised a higher kill count in 6 and I don’t think it really got there. Ghost face was on a train, and didn’t use the opportunity to create chaos by killing random red shirts, which was a fail in my eyes.
I’m cautiously optimistic about the dead characters returning and seeing what the crew has in store for us.
