I would also like to point out that regardless of my discussion with BOTD, sexual orientation and love are not necessarily interlinked.

If you fall in love with your computer, until you feel physically attracted to a computer, you're not a machinosexual.
 
I selected "I don't want to label myself" because it's the closest to the truth. I hate the idea of labels. I've dated quite a few guys AND I've been attracted to other girls, and I have no problem with that. If the world labels that as bisexual then good for them, but to me it's just who I am, no label necessary. For both guys and girls (particularly girls I find) I tend to be attracted to personality and what they're like as a person first and foremost, rather than how they look physically. If I fall for them that way, THEN I tend to find myself admiring their physical appearance, it comes second. I don't know if I'd ever get physically/sexually involved with another female, but that doesn't stop me feeling (sometimes very) attracted to them. The heart knows what it wants, love is love, no matter what the gender of the two people involved. At least that's my opinion.

So I was doing a lot of debating as to whether or not I should reply to this thread. I mean, I'm bisexual but I don't really think it matters anymore. In this day and age (especially in college) your sexual orientation changes daily. I'm friends with a bunch of girls who are claim to be bixsexual one moment and then admit to doing it just for the male attention. And even though I call myself bisexual, I'm not really into the whole labeling your orientation thing. I think it's a load of bullcrap cause it's not the gender that really matters in a relationship. Or in marriage for that matter. What matters is the connection between the individuals involved. I mean, I've fallen for two guys and a girl in my short life... and it didn't really seem to matter what gender they were.

Blah. Mini rant over.

Buffy didn't really make me more open minded, because it is very difficult to make me more open minded than I already am. I have an uncle who is gay and a step-mom who is bi, so I grew up in family that taught my siblings and I to treat people with respect, no matter orientation or race or anything else. I'm not exactly sold on HOW Buffy could really make people more open minded to gays & bis... it's not exactly the first television show that has covered the topic... But on the other hand, Buffy is a very controversial show, so I could be wrong.



On a side note, I think that people, especially teens, should not have to turn to a television show to open their minds. I fully believe parents should be more involved with what their child is going through and attempt to be understanding. It did a world of good for me and my friends to have someone who would look past our orientation and see us for the person we are. Cause isn't that what really matters? Blah, I'm so rambling.

I think you read my mind!
I am a straight woman. No denying it. I like the men. But I also tend to think women are alot prettier than men and hava alot nicer bodies to look at. Physically, women are more attractive (I mean boobs, come on!); I don't think I could ever date or be with a woman sexually...and I'll stop right there before this gets dirty!

But yeah. Girls are definately prettier, but guys are more sexually desirable to me

I'm not attracted to women in a couple-y sense. I am definitely a straight woman and while I have done the whole guy-ogling-to-pass-the-time thing I find women are always more aesthetically pleasing. Maybe it's because we put more efforts in our looks....hehe. Or more likely the fact is, at least according to a theory my friend did on a gender paper when she was doing Psychology, straight women like to look at women because we are actually thinking 'I would really like to look like her'. Men probably look at other men in the same way but don't admit it like we do, because they are afraid it will diminish their masuclinity.

Those poor fragile male egos...haha.

I really like to look at those pictures of pretty women at the magazines-when they're good dressed, have great hairstyles and make-ups.
I don't think i would ever like to be in relantionship with a woman ( I mean the couple thing) but it's just nice to look at beautiful one (and dream of me looking like her, heh)

It's not so much as I wanna look like other women, I actually really like how I look 99% of the time;

*TMI TMI TMI* It's that looking at a really hot woman turns me on. But not like I want to be with that girl necessarily (or any girl). I just like to look.

I look at women both in the way of 'I would really like to look like her' AND the 'I'd like to kumshukk (well, sort of) her'. :happy06:

Let's face it... aesthetically, a man just can't hold a candle to a woman, at least not up until the age of 40something or so, when the tables start getting turned. (Sean Connery, anyone? : drool : That's one man I reeeeaaaaally wouldn't mind looking like... and I do mean the white-haired version, not his Bond years.)
 
Well, I'm female, and also bi.

But I'm in a relationship with a guy, and nearly all of my relationships have been, just because I prefer having relationships with males over females. i'm not bi-curious though, and I hate people who label me as that just because I date guys mostly!
 
I'm straight, though I really dislike that term. Makes it seem like everyone else is somehow off-course, or bent. It bugs me.

I mentioned something to this girl about her being queer, and she went off her rocker, it was hilarious. She started ranting about being born the same way as me and sh1t like that and I was like," you were born with a penis too??"

If that little anecdote isn't funny, then you had to be there(I almost laughed my stomach out my mouth).
