Should the opening credits have changed for the last seven to five episodes?

It has to do with how big a part they actually play in the episodes, not how often they're seen.

I agree with this.
Faith definitely deserved a part in the opening credits; maybe not for Season 7, but definitely for Season 4.
Giles wasn't really a main character during that point in the show.. but simply due to the fact that he's been with the show since the beginning, I think he deserved an opening credits mention.

Kennedy deserved a spot in the credits? Really?
Even though characters like Kennedy and Andrew appear in almost every episode of the season, it doesn't necessarily mean they should be in the opening credits. I mean, how important of a role did Kennedy really play?

Not to mention, I doubt it's cheap to keep adding and removing people from the opener. And like someone else said, why not use the money they have to make the last episodes of the series great?

I'am guessing you mean season 3? as Faith was hardly in season 4.

Kennedy in the opening credits is a ridiculous idea to me. She wasn't integral to the show. She was just another potential who was with Willow for a short amount of time. She didn't do enough to warrant appearing in the credits.

Andrew had more right than Kennedy to appear in the opening credits but i'd also argue he didn't do enough, the same could be said of Faith who took a back seat in season 7 and wasn't in enough episodes.

I concur with Giles deserving to appear in the credits simply because of his association with the show. He'd been there since the beginning and for the finale at least he deserved that prvilege.

Oops, yes meant s.3 :P I think I was thinking about Angel s.4
Giles being a special guest star doesn't bother me as he choose to leave the show at the beginning of season six so getting a special billing in the guest stars seems good to me and he didn't need to be made a regular again to finish out of the last season. For me though, Faith should have been made a regular for a least one season. She was a huge part of the show if not for the third season in which she was in 80% of that season, then at the least season seven. I know she was in only five episodes but she was in five straight and the last five episodes of the season so she was a regular from the point she joined. Faith should have gone out as a regular. The only thing that angers me more is Tara not being made regular for either season five or six (Not counting her last appearance)

I think Faith should have been in the credits. Giles I did not mind to much him not being in them because he got the special guest star. I would not have minded Andrew in there but other people like Kennedy to me did not need to be in the credits.
Faith mostly because she contributed to Angel and Buffy. I feel like she deserved to be in the credits at some point on Buffy.

I wouldve just changed the credits for the last episode. Adding in Giles and Faith and changing all of their shots to shots from the first 6 seasons.

I think people are making some assumptions about what the title credits mean that aren't necessarily accurate. The composition of the credits isn't determined by the characters' importance to the plot, but rather by the contract status of the actors playing them. The fact that Eliza Dushku and Tony Head weren't listed in the main titles doesn't mean the producers thought Faith and Giles weren't important.

Faith should have been in the season 3 opening credits, period. She was in most episodes and central to the main plot.
