Should there have been more clues regarding Jenny?

I know this concept would completely just wipe out half of what her death has led the show to be.
But watching the relationship between her and Giles, I wish they didn't kill her off, let the relationship progress
Into perhaps a marraige, which of course would have its issues (eg, Cheating, Cold Feet) which wouldve created a different concept to the show, which of course wes then brought in by Xander and Anya.

But yes i know that if Jenny didn't die, Willow wouldnt've turned to witchcraft and alala.
🙂

Just something I've thought about.

^ This is kinda random, doesn't really relate to the thread much...but while I was introducing my brother to Buffy, he developed a huge crush on Jenny. I didn't tell him she was going to die. When Angelus killed her, he was in complete shock and hadn't seen it coming...I think it broke his heart a little, actually...so yeah, I definitely think (no matter what the writers were trying to do with that scene) that is WAS appropriately dramatic. It's jarring.

Yes it sure surprised me for sure! That was the point though they wanted everyone to hate Angel as much as possible, and be credited as a show that could kill off its primary characters. A handful of people were SERIOUSLY disturbed about killing her off! Freaky.

No, clearly we weren't watching the same show. Do you even read what other people are saying? Or their points in their posts? To me it seems like you're just plain opinionated, and are here to cause trouble. You begin a thread asking "Should there have been more clues regarding Jenny?" I said no. I don't think there has to be. I didn't realise that when you were asking my opinion you didn't actually want to have a discussion about it, just go on and on about it instead.
I wasn't disagreeing with you on the fact that you said you didn't feel there needed to be clues, but was responding to your rudely worded comment about Jenny being a gypsy not going hand-in-hand with her betraying Giles and Buffy, and I explained what I meant, since you seemed to be indicating I was some kind of racist. I read your post...you didn't read mine.

As I understand it so was Jenny there to keep an eye on Angel and make sure he was still very unhappy and all that.
But in reality she never did anything at all to keep Angel and Buffy appart until her uncle (or whatever he was) came and was wondering what's up with the not totally unhappy Angel.

I have no problem with that. There just wasn't any clues. Neither for us, the audience, or Buffy and Giles since she just hadn't done anything that was suspicious.

Okay, everyone, let's tone it down a little bit here. I don't think cait was calling PP a racist so let's dial it down a notch and keep it civil. There's room for everyone's opinions here and there's no right and wrong one...

I don't see anything wrong with the reveal as it was. Maybe if I rewatched specifically looking for that I would see it more, but looking back there were clues about Jenny's true identity that were enough to keep us theorizing. I mean, who wants to be smacked over the head with an obvious truth before the reveal? Not me.

I always felt that reveal was a bit lame because we'd never been given any "hint" or suspicion that she wasn't entirely good...seemed sort of pulled out of the writers' hat to add some extra last-minute drama...

What about Uncle Enyos' visit?

Do you really think her "mission" makes her not good?

I agree with the OP about Jenny, it was kind of random. Not terrible though, I didn't find it nonsensical or like it didn't fit. It was kind of like Knox in Angel, his secret wasn't exactly planned or even hinted upon, but not so outrages that it lacks credibility. But yeah I would have liked it to be a bit more planned with clever little clues you can look back on and go 'ooohhh'.
