I've mentioned before that I have about a thousand clips on my computer from BtVS, so I can watch a particular scene any time I want.

I got to thinking last night about whether there is one single scene that I enjoy watching over and over again more than any other. I know many people won't be able to choose one single favorite scene to watch, but I do actually have one.

It's Buffy's speech to the Council in Checkpoint. I never get tired of watching that scene. I just love every second of it. ("I'm fairly certain I said no interruptions." "This is how it's going to work." "cough*retroactive*cough")

Note: I'm not asking what scene you found most moving, or dramatic, or really enjoyed when you saw it. I'm asking what you could watch over and over again, just enjoying every detail of the scene.

Ooh, that's definitely one of mine!

I love that scene!

love this scene. always have to watch it at least twice while I am watching the ep.
Wow this is difficult. The only scene that I've watched repetitively and enjoyed is the scene when Spike sees Buffy alive again for the first time and all his reactions, right up until the scoobies show up. I just get all giddy after I see it.

Though, actually I have watched the end of Passion when Giles goes all BA a lot as well. When he sets the bat on fire and attacks Angelus. I enjoy that bit a lot too. Makes my day.

I definitely agree about the scene in Checkpoint. I would also add the scene where Buffy finds out that she is going to die in Prophecy Girl. The Buffy vs Spike in School hard and Harsh Light of Day. Also, Buffy vs Faith in Graduation Day and This Year's Girl. Finally Spike's speech to Buffy in Touched. There are probably a few more but I never get tired of these particular scenes.

I love this scene too. It's one of the few clips I have on my computer that doesn't have Giles in it.

Another favorite of mine. And some truly great acting by ASH - that is pure, mindless rage on his face and in his body language.

Buffy's speech in Checkpoint is amazing. Definitely one of my top scenes to watch. I think my favorite scene though, is the slayer scene in Chosen. From "Oh. My. Goddess." to "and you're a slayer." I'm getting all giddy thinking about that scene.

Other scenes worth mentioning here are the Beneath You church scene (which I could watch on and endless loop for the rest of my life), the Touched Spike speech (which I could also do on an endless loop), the Magic Box scene in Family where everyone stands up for Tara, and the last scene of Graduation Day part 2.

to all of those
I would also add the scene where Buffy finds out that she is going to die in Prophecy Girl.

That is such a delightfully dramatic scene, and more good acting, especially by SMG.

the Magic Box scene in Family where everyone stands up for Tara

Absolutely love that scene. I remember when I first watched it, I was so surprised to see Buffy (to all appearances) throw Tara under the bus ("You can take her" or whatever she said). It seemed so unlike Buffy, and I remember thinking she must be really angry about the spell Tara cast. And then "You just gotta go through me," and I about cheered out loud. 🙂

And Xanders quote in the Family scene, "and I swear by your full and manly beard your gonna hurt something trying

That was me too! Like I was like "huh? That's so unlike her." And then I was like "I TOLD YOU IT WAS UNLIKE HER! YOU GO BUFFY! YOU TELL EM!"

I always thought it would been really funny if he had actually taken Buffy up on that.

It seemed like he was going to. "I'm not going to be threatened by two little girls."
I think the scenes I go back to and watch the most are:

1) I'llneverforget!I'llneverforget...from IWRY.

2) Buffy sending Angel to Hell.

3) The morning before scene from Surprise "I like you at bedtime"...

4) "Tell me you don't love me" from Lovers Walk

5) "I loved him more than I will ever love anything in this life..." from Selfless

6) "It's Buffy"...from There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb

7) "Hi, I'm Buffy, the Vampire Slayer, and you are?" from Anne.

So, as you can see. I am a total Spuffy. 😛 😛 😛

LOL. I actually do have a couple of Angel clips on my computer - when he shows up at Joyce's graveside, and in Chosen.

Well to be fair, your #2 is something a Spuffy might do :)

All hail the Queen of Bangels!!
Lately, the random scenes I like to watch are...

- When Drusilla turns into Jenny in S2. It's really emotional and it makes me miss Jenny.
- When Buffy wins the Class Protector Award in S3. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever.
- The finale battle scene in S3. That was totally epic.

I forgot to add the class protector award to my list. I love that scene so much it hurts!

I love all of these.

definitely to the class protector
There are two scenes that I love most.

My favorite scene of all is the scene in Grave where Willow breaks down and cries in Xander's arms.

Then there's another scene that I really love. It's the scene during the credits of The Puppet Show.
So great!! 😀

Grave karma!! One of the greatest scenes ever!!!
I have a lot of favorite scenes! Off the top of my head is Buffy's fight with Angelus in 'Becoming Part Two'. I LOVE the part where he's taunting her and it looks like she's about to give up, then her head snaps up and she does the sword-flippy thing and they continue fighting.

Wow. I'm terrible at describing scenes...

I thought you described it just fine, and that was a great scene.
Buffy's sacrifice in The Gift

Anya's speech in The Body

The moment in Chosen when the core four are talking in the hallway before fighting

The Fred/Illyria and Wesley scene in Not Fade Away

The first few minutes of Tabula Rasa when everyone loses their memory

When Spike is narrating Angel in In the Dark

Tara and Willow's first kiss in The Body

Willow and Tara's 'I will always find you' moment in The Gift

The last few minutes of Becoming, Part 2

This is just what I remember having and watching the most.

love all of these
Not quite sure it counts as one scene, but my favourite sequence is Spike's monologue in Fool For Love - the one that intercuts his final moments killing Nikki with talking to Buffy in the alley behind the bronze.

I love what he says and how it's shot, Buffy's reactions and just everything about the whole scene.

And the shallow part of me likes looking at punk!Spike.

I'd probably also include the church scene in Beneath You, too. Another Spike monologue, incredible acting from both JM and SMG and just a very powerful scene.

The moment in Chosen when the core four are talking in the hallway before fighting

I loved this scene too. One of the best things about it was the misdirection. When it started, I assumed the four were going to have a heartfelt discussion about all they'd been through together, and so on; and I even made my husband leave the room so I wouldn't be distracted for such a heavy scene. Then they end up talking about shopping instead. It was brilliant. "The earth is definitely doomed." (This scene, along with the lingering glance earlier in the ep, also convinced me that Giles and Buffy had reconciled.)

Pretty much any Fred/Wesley scene. So the end of Smile Time, all their stuff in A Whole In the World, and the scene in Not Fade Away.

Does it make me a perv to say Spike and Buffy's sex scene in Bringing Down the House? That scene is so, so well done and sexy.

Also, pretty much every Faith scene, particularly in Angel, where I think I liked her character even more.

Not gonna lie, I agree about the Spike/Buffy sex scene.

Not a perv!
I prefer to rewatch the more lighthearted stuff more often:

- Xander being chased by every woman in Sunnydale in Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered, I must have watched that like a thousand times.

- Willow, Tara and Miss Kitty Fantastico in The Yoko Factor. A threesome of cuteness.

- The Dance Macabre lecture in Hush.

- Giles rehearsing his pick-up lines in Some Assembly Required.

- Xander and Cordy's first kiss.

"I will be back in the Middle Ages."
"Did you ever leave" - I have loved Jenny ever since that I Robot, You Jane teaser.

- Pretty much the whole of Prophecy Girl.

- Willow: "Say, you all didn't happen to do a bunch of drugs, did ya?
Xander: Will, we saw you at the Bronze. A vampire.
Willow: I'm not a *vampire*.
Buffy: You are. (gets a look from Willow) I-I mean, you, you were. Giles, planning on jumping in with an explanation any time soon?
Giles: Well, uh... something... something, um, very strange is happening.
Xander: Can you believe the Watcher's Council let this guy go?

Xander shaking his cross as if to check if its batteries are working just kills me in that scene, ditto for Willow's mix of surprise and indignation when she says "I am not a vampire".

- Willow: Actually, this isn't about you. Although I'm fond, don't get me wrong, of you. The other night, you know, being captured and all, facing off with Faith. Things just, kind of, got clear. I mean, you've been fighting evil here for three years, and I've helped some, and now we're supposed to decide what we want to do with our lives. And I just realized that that's what I want to do. Fight evil, help people. I mean, I-I think it's worth doing. And I don't think you do it because you have to. It's a good fight, Buffy, and I want in.
Buffy: I kind of love you.

- The Council interrogating Anya, Xander, Willow and Tara in Checkpoint:

ANYA: Nope, but it sounds demony to me. I don't hold with that demon nonsense. Muffin?

Geez, I could list a ton, lol! But, when it really comes down to it, I have to go with the scene in "Touched," where Buffy explains all her doubts and worries, and then Spike says how he loves her as the woman she is. Another one would also be the last scene in "You're Welcome" between Angel and Cordy. Yeah, it still makes me cry like a baby, but I love how Cordy tells Angel he does have the strength to win his fight, and that she always believed in him.

And that's probably why both scenes are in my banner, lol! 🙂
