SMG... Hot?

SMG is a very cute girl rather than an all-out hot one. And, yes, she looks cuter in some seasons than others.
 
I think Sarah is still pretty, but she'll never be as gorgeous anymore as she was on the earlier seasons of Buffy, IKWYDLS and Cruel Intentions.
My little sister actually think she's really ugly, except for in Cruel Intentions.
 
i don't know why she lost weight: anorexia, stress, illness, personnal desire, studio pressure, work....and i don't think we can know why

in her last pictures, she doesn't seem too skinny in a medical point of view, but it's not my taste:where did her breast go?
her upper half is like an eleven year's old!
but she's great legs.

I found this old interview where Sarah says: "Recently, weight has come to the forefront. And it breaks my heart for Calista Flockhart. She's the nicest girl, and she's so talented. She's a skinny girl, it's just her natural body type. Luckily for my show I have to work out so much anyway, so that's a nice trade-off."

Well, Calista Flockhart suffered from anorexia and once I read an article where Sarah said that she came home and Freddie, seeing her too skinny, cooked for her. I don't remember it clearly, it was ages ago but I think that without wanting to, with filming,working,training and of course her structure, she became a little too skinny but then gained some pounds and it was ok. So, for me, not skinny...just very think and fit...there was never a point when you could see her bones like other actresses so..
 
she was always hot, her best years in Btvs would be S2 & 3, & I never noticed her being too skinny, sure she lost weight but she was still hot, though I'd say her role in cruel intentions, she was the definition of perfect. I still don't know why she was so perfect in that movie, I can't figure it out.
though I gotta see, in one of her latest movies (veronica something...), she looked wrinkly, even though she's not that old.
 
There are a whole bunch of factors that could have gone into her dramatic weight loss from S1 of Buffy to S7. Most prominently, the loss of baby-fat, as mentioned in the quote above. She was still very young when the show started. I'm not saying that's the only factor, but it shouldnt be underestimated.

There's also the overwhelming pressure to stay thin... hollywood is clearly a breeding ground for insecurity. And the possibility that her workout routine became more strenuous/varied as the years went on. Different types of exercise create different types of bodies... whether it aims towards a more sinewy muscle, or a more bulky muscle. There's also genetics. And, also as SMG herself said, overworking on the set.

I think the most attractive thing about SMG is that she's different. She's not a typical hollywood beauty. Most notably, her teeth. Which might sound silly, but I've always been quite drawn to them, because they're unique. And even a small detail like that can make a huge difference. Personally, as far as the show is concerned, I found her the most attractive between seasons 2-4.

Being "Hot" has a lot to do with personality and attitude, IMO. You can be attractive, but not hot. Someone like Faith is "Hot" to me because there's something wild there. If anything, SMG/Buffy is beautiful, ocassionally bordering on hot.

Her teeth really? I've always though they were very typical Hollywood - perfectly straight and white enough to blind you. What do you find special about them?

Now her nose however, that's unique IMO, and very beautiful. I love her nose.

Checking in after a year of (more or less) inactivity, I find this thread is still going on! I find that comforting, somehow.
Anyways, I used to think SMG looked OK but not fantastic, but with every rewatch I become more and more attracted to her looks for some reason. She certainly has something special going for her.
Maybe it IS the nose. Or the teeth. Or...
 
I think Sarah Michelle Gellar is one of the most beautiful people ever, but for me it's Buffy who does it for me. If I had seen SMG in Cruel intensions, sure, I'd think she was good looking, but I wouldn't think she was super attractive, like I do now. Buffy's such a strong, cool and smart woman and has a lot of qualities I could fall for, so of coarse she gets way more hot because of that.

Maybe i'am basing my opinion primarily on Buffy and Cruel Intentions but for me SMG is gorgeous. In Buffy there was no other character that attracted me like Buffy did. When idiots like Parker and Scott Hope didn't want to be with her i couldn't understand it.

Buffy and from what i can tell Sarah is not only a beautiful really attractive girl but she has a great fun loving personality. She's not bland and comes across as a really nice person, for me that is also attractive and ultimately hot.

For anyone to say she isn't hot, well everyone is entitled to their opinion but i'd seriously urge them to watch "Cruel Intentions", i'am pretty sure most people's minds would change in a instant.

In the recent photos i've seen of her she still looks good too.
 
I think she looked best the first 3 seasons or so - young and slender, but athletic, not skinny per se. I did find her a little too skinny in later seasons. It goes without saying she always had gorgeous eyes, hair and smile.
 
I totally agree with the OP... I found her very hot and sexy in the first few seasons but then after 4 she began to rapidly lose weight and not just that, it seemed as though she rapidly aged as well. I don't find myself caring much for her looks past s4 at all. Of course I still like Buffy and everything but I get my ya'yas as Mr. Trick put it, from the other ladies of BtVS not Buffy. (Then again, I STILL loved Faith more even in s3)
 
I think Sarah Michelle Gellar is absolutely beautiful, especially in seasons One through Four. Also, I love her nose!
 
i can definitely agree with most that SMG looked a lot better on Btvs seasons1-4 and then she started scaring me with how skinny she got, but with doing the Scooby movies and what not, you can understand why. She is although, a very beautiful woman, slender or not. What also adds to her beauty is her personality. No point in being pretty with a rotten attitude(total turn off!) And like KristenVictoria said, I love her nose! i don't understand why people don't like it =/ it's so cute! 🙂

Very much this, she has always been the hottest and best all round character in the whole show. Plus like Dan said she is looking fantastic now 7 years after the show finished.

And she was my first crush!

LOL, I've had this debate several times before so I guess I'll put my two penneth in. I always thought SMG was hot. Admittedly she was skinny, but some people just are, and it's understandable with the schedule she had. Even at her skinniest I still thought she was a fantastic looking lady, and didn't look unhealthy. For what it's worth I also thought that when she played Buffy she had was really sexy (which is a different thing to hot). The way she carried herself and her portrayal of the character was very appealing to me 😀

Totally agree with what you say about how she carred herself. There was something about Buffy which was really hot no matter who she was involved with.
 
I thought she was attractive all the time (especially when she played The First in S.7), and she still is now. The only times I didn't like her appearance were when she got that short hairdo in Season 6, and when her hair remained in that ugly curly style from "Who Are You" through to "Primeval".
