I understood what you meant, I was just trying to come up with a way that we could keep the Season 8 comics as canon, rather than have Joss toss the whole thing out the window or do another do-over like he's done with Angel.

See, I've got this Irish buddy who once said that she would be really mad if Joss did anything like that, and it's gonna be bad enough for her that Spike is the father of Buffy's baby. Having both things thrown into her face would most certainly break her poor little Bangel heart.

See I thought it was a way to keep the season 8 canon since it would essentially be like season 9? We fisnish out the comics and then this movie comes.

That is very kind of you to worry about your Irish buddy like that but there really is no need. Since Angel is so obviously going to be Buffy's Baby Daddy. Shanshu is pretty much confirmed so it is an almost shoe in that he will have got it by the time this "movie" is set.

While the idea of a Buffy movie would be awesome and we can all hope for this to happen some day... I don't think it will. I think I remember reading somewhere Joss wasn't interested in making another Buffy movie and said that Buffy would live on in comics. Then again he may have changed his mind, but Im not going to get excited over this just yet.

Joss made the statement at least once that he would drop the entire Season 8 storyline (and After The Fall/Aftermath too, probably) as canon if he came up with a good enough story and the opportunity to tell it. So, if all of the actors agreed to come back and the money was available to make the movie, we might be just as apt to see a story where Buffy retired and moved to Canada, Faith joined a Shaolin temple, Giles moved back to London and began writing his memoirs, Xander and Willow got married, and Kennedy is now the Senior Slayer, providing that Joss got the inspiration to write a story along those lines.

Though other rumours say its happening but with no Joss and no Scooby gang, to me that isn't Buffy, its freaking going to be the first movie. I'm sorry but I'm sick of Joss Whedon getting pushed around, with the Alien movie he done? They changed it. Buffy the movie? They changed. Angel? They Killed it. Firefly? They killed it. Dollhouse? They killed it. The networks don't seem to know what they are doing. Because everytime something actually good and creative is made they stuff it up. I mean c'mon, in Universities all over the world they are studying Joss Whedons work, it's beauty, it's influence, it's camera shots, it's uniqueness. I would have to say that he is one of the best Directors and one of the best writers ever. And I'm including Hitchcock and Speilberg. Joss Whedon is a true artist and if they do this movie, I think I'll be fully depressed. Because its going to be associated with the series, it will turn into another Twilight. I mean c'mon that's the only reason Fran Rubel Kuzui is doing it. "Didn't you hear? Vampires in fashion. I haven't been making any money coz nobody wants to hire me so now I'm going to make a bad movie."
Other than the whole Joss Whedon thing, who wants to watch something without the scooby gang? If you do your dillusional. Because without the scooby gang it wouldn't be Buffy it would be like just a girl who is depressed all the time because she has to fight these ugly thingies. Mentioned again another kind of like Twilight thingy(on the subject haven't they made enough of those want to be twilight books?), scene of Buffy the movie:"Oh look a demon I must kill it as it is my destiny, but no I have fallen in love with it." Another scene: " You know it was my destiny to kill your kind but because I do not have madass friends like Willow or Xander or have a watcher like Giles and am stuck with this really young goodlooking guy named Chad who just looks at my ass while I train, I feel I need to give myself up to you if you will take me? Oh please Take me!"

Hah! Good one. I agree. Buffy movie without original Buffy cast is nothing. In 7 years they created something special, something beautiful, something so good, and if you use some other cast and put them in a movie it's going to be something like original Buffy movie, or worse, if that's possible. It's like they make Friends movie without original cast, or like in Sex and the City movie Ashley Tisdale played Carrie. People just can't do that, it's not right, and if people are smart at all they are not going to try, not without Joss or the original cast.

Yeah, before people who liked anything vampires related were creeps, and no it's a cool thing. 7 year old girls are vampire fans and they are obsessed with them only because everyone said they are cool. Before I felt special because I liked something no one else liked, but now everyone are crazy about them. An 'insider'? Uh, this sounds like TMZ gossip to me. Sarah has made it clear she doesn't want to revisit the role of Buffy, unless she's changed her mind.

Obviously, this film would not be canon, as Buffy being a mother obviously wouldn't jive with the S8 continuation.

No, just half of the people I talk with online and in the real life started to like vampires when Twillight movie came out, and I was like since when and they replied "Well for always". That's just stupid.

I totaly agree with Princessbuffy. I fell in love with Angel in the begining of buffy. I have a massive crush on him from the moment i found out he was a vampire. People used to say that it was weird and lame. Now one of the very people who used to say I was weird is not g aga for Edward from Twilight. People today are sheep! They just cling to what is popual. I find it so anoying. I still hold to my BTVS thought because a lot of people say it is old and lame. I did get my now ex boyfirned hooked on Buffy back when we were liveing together though.

And has anyone noticed how much that Joss's idea's have been so ripped off. Expecially buffy. Angel was the origional good vampire who had controle and didnt feed on people. Now there is EDWARD!!! UCK...And the show Vampire Diaries...watch it sometimes...It stole a lot of basic BTVS ideas...the main charictor is in love with a vampire and her best frined is a witch...and so many other semilaritys. It rather pisses me off.

Also, in 'Earshot', when Buffy can hear everyone's thoughts but Angel's...that reminded me of how in 'Twilight' Edward can read everyone thought's but Bella's.

Really, though. Everyone rips everyone off. There are only so many stories, especially regarding vampires.

Plus, even if Vampire Diaries did steal some ideas from BtVS, I can't say I blame them. That show is about as interesting as staring at a table lamp for a prolonged period of time. There's only so much you can do with the overly recycled vampire-human love theme.
