Snake!

I hate snakes, and spiders. Either one makes me want to die, lol. I saw a black widow a couple of months ago. I killed it. It took a long time. Bug spray was not killing it very fast, even on the 11th spray, finally I poked it with a very long stick until I killed it enough. I screamed every time I poked it.
Yes call me cruel but those things will kill ya, poisin you to death, literally.

egheh I've given up on the bug spray, just squash them with a thong, we dont have black widows but we do have red backs and white tales. I think they are smaller? When I mentioned the snake to my mum she asked if I could spary it with snake spray.LOL bloody city slickers 🙂

I've never come across anything more dangerous than a black widow spider.

I've picked up snakes, but just garden and black snakes. I spent a lot of time in the woods growing up. I even tracked a few animals. This isn't a complaint. lol. I'm quite pleased to never have come face to face with anything deadly and untamed. If I were you, I'd be super careful about those boots!

Meat ants:

Fine when there's just a couple of them....not when there's millions and you accidentally step one of the trails they carve out to their food while their on it.

You made me shiver god damn you! Shiver! It's the wee hours of the morning, and my mild case of insomnia has just been upped to extreme. Those meat ant pictures and the other menagerie of creepies everyone's talking about has me slapping random parts of my arm when I feel a slight itch.
This is all just too creepy. And has only further confirmed my decison *never* to visit Australia. I'd come back a wreck.

Aww thats a shame,dont wana scare people off good ol' Oz! haha.
I saw a kid fall off her pony into a nest of those meat ants, (i just call 'em those big red bull ant things with ouchy bityness) poor kid ended up in the emergency department with bad bites all over her, But technically it was her fault as she fell off while trying to get the pony to walk through the nest! Im with the pony, I would have chucked her off too! bugger that!

I hate snakes! I actually grew up on the Queensland Central Coast and the snakes were always really bad, we never left the house without shoes except for the one time when I was six and ironically enough that was when I got bitten by a king brown. Not only did it bite me once but it felt the need to do it another time, needless to say I was rushed to hospital straight away, however if I hear a noise in the grass I now get REALLY paranoid. lol! But seriously Australia is really a beautiful place, snakes are only plentiful in certain places and those places are easily avoidable.

So what keeps you awake at night? hehe i couldnt imagine growing up without the scary stuff, stamping your feet, checking boots etc is just second nature now. My friend from england had to learn all that stuff, she was terrified! Its not that bad if you're carefull. But it is funny when we trick the newbies and tell them they have to do ridiculas things like clap and sing to keep the snakes and spiders away!
Poor WS king browns are huge! I've never heard of them biting only once, they always seem to go for the second bite. Have you read the book "Jessica" by Bruce Cortney?

No I haven't actually read that book but if the main character gets bitten by a king brown that is just a REALLY weird coincedence! lol! Maybe someone's secretly writing about my life?! *stares nervously over my shoulder*

We ran over a huge king brown in a car once, at first we thought it was a log over the road as we couldnt see its head or tale, After we ran over it we stopped the car to move the "log" off the road and it slithered away!
Anyone else got anymore stories? I could go on all bloody night. None of my friends really react to my stories coz they see the same things!

We recently spotted another king brown in our yard my little sister made the mistake of telling me before I was meant to play soccer with her, needless to say I refused to leave the house!

Where abouts in Australia do you live Aussie? I live right next to a national park, so spiders and lizards are the worst for me. I have seen the occasional snake (a brown one eeeeh) but not that often. Does anyone want to see a picture my sister took of a snake eating a frog that was still alive? Its pretty crazy.

Oh, and yes, shaking your shoes before you put them on, and checking your bed every night, and your clothes before you put them on, becomes second nature if you dont want to have a spider biting you.

The tiger we saw yesterday was fat, I was wondering what it ate. Lucky tho, slowed it down a bit! Probably just a boring mouse. not a funny froggy 🙂

The dark and the cold mostly 😛 I hate the dark and its always dark here (due to horrible weather)
