Snake!

A snake got into my house once, me and my family just came home one day, opened the door and it was laying on the mat just inside the door. I stepped over it and walked right on in because i didn't see it XD! Turns out it belonged to my nextdoor neighbour

And about Australia, sure, it probably wants you dead, but who cares when it has such a great accent? =D

except when un aussie actors try to mimic it then it is just bad!
Maybe I'll never visit Australia after all.

I hate snakes. We have a lot of them around here but you don't see them that much. When my youngest brother was 5 he walked up on this huge snake in the yard (it was about six feet, but thin, after we killed it and my cousin stretched it out) but fortunately the snake didn't attack him, but it was poised to strike, just staring at him. My cousin was able to shoot it.

That was back when we lived out of the city, and whenever my dad would see a snake on the road anywhere close to our house he'd run over it, reverse over it, go over it again, until it was mush.

Which may be cruel to some but I don't pity snakes at all. *shrug* The poisonous ones, anyway.

Gotta watch the running over them in a car, if ya sure they're mush then ya fine, but if its a small snake (like under 1 1/2m) they can flick up under your car. It happened to my grandpa years ago, he ran over a snake, had a 2 hour drive home and when he got out of the car, the snake came for him from under the car!
I dont mind the snakes from afar and not on my property! But too close to the house, dogs, kids and horses is not good so they get the shovel technique ( dont have guns, plus id more likely shoot myself in the foot then hit my target!!)
I really didnt mean to scare people off from australia! If ya stick to the city then you're unlikely to find anything scary (except maybe drunken yobos....)
The beaches make up for all the crawly nastys!

I quite like snakes, but I don't think I'd like poisonous wild ones! I've never been to Australia, but my cousin just moved over a couple months ago and she seems to like it there, she never said anything about insects or snakes though!

I hate spiders, back in September we seemed to have an infestation of them! There was one in my washing basket and well.. i totally freaked out and threw the washing basket (full of clothes) outside. Luckily it didn't rain so my clothes were fine, but I had to have my brother come over and get rid of it for me! The spiders over here don't even bite, so I don't know what I'd do in Australia...

I now live near brisbane s snakes actually aren't that bad! We've been living here for about 5 years now and the brown snake the other day was our first encounter with one since moving!

I actually went over to my mum's cousin's house for a bbq! He looks after injured wildlife so I got to feed a joey and play with the baby koala! It was soooooooooooooooo CUTE!

i actually thought of putting it in someone elses back yard, but that would mean id have to lift it up over my head, and what if it fell back down on me!! I think its easier if i bury it tomorrow.

Yeah, what did they end up naming the dead cat?

Saw another snake today, this time at my friends place where my horse is. We saw it yesterday aswell, Im pretty sure it the same one, a pretty decent size tiger. They dont like to kill em even thought it was so close to the house. I tried to get a photo but only captured the tip of its tale. It was in the long grass and I wasnt guna go any closer!!

Had a run in with another dangerous animal today - Shanti. She is a 2yr old chestnut pony that lives on the same property as me. I was leading her to get some photos for a friend of mine who is interested in buying her and she booted me in the stomach! Naughty Pony!! She was just playing, she is in no way vicious, just cheeky and playful and uneducated. A good reminder for me not to get complacent with animals, even the quiet ones!
