LOL! So glad you brought that up. Gabrielle Carteris and Luke Perry were so old playing high school and then college students. Gabrielle was 29 playing a 16 year old! When the gang got to college, Andrea was supposed to be 18 years old, but Gabrielle had aged pretty quickly. She definitely looked like she was in her 30's. It's so distracting when I watch season 4 of 90210. Same with Luke. His age caught up to him pretty quickly too.

When I was a child, I used to think they all looked like teenagers did (incredibly grown up) and then I reached 15 and was surprised to find that several tv shows had lied to me and I did not have the body or mature look of a 25-year-old. And in fact looked like the weird thing you find in between child and adult stages of life.
When I found out Robia and Charisma were the same age, I was shocked, because the way they both act their parts makes them appear the age they are meant to be playing. You fully believe Jenny is Cordelia's teacher; it doesn't look odd. Unless you freeze-frame/screencap them and just consider it for looks alone.
I think Sarah looked teeangery (but then she was 19/20 in season 1 so was the closest to it) and Alyson definitely did despite being in her 20s, but she still has a very young look now (good genes, hehe). Oddly enough the one that always threw me was Nick Brendon; I always thought he stood out more as looking non-teenagery than Charisma did. That is until Charisma was put in an outfit that showed off her...assets.
The Gilmore Girls was a good show for casting actors that looked like teenagers. And I believe they were all a little older than the characters they were playing.

Exactly. When I was a kid, I didn't know any better. I just thought that's how teenagers looked. 😛 I'm aging very slowly though. I'm 24, but most people think I'm 15 or 16.

Same here. I'm 22 and people still think I'm in high school. It's a nightmare for getting jobs though- people are like 'you look too young for that role, but you're too old next to everyone else for this one'. We'll cash in on these youthful genes in years to come, haha!
Did anyone here watch "The O.C." when it was on? The main character, who I think was supposed to be a sophomore in high school, was played by a 25-year-old ... while a 35-year-old actress played his mother.
Cordelia definitely looks older than the rest, in part because of the things the producers did with Buffy's hair and Willow's outfits to make them look younger (and, yes, because of Charisma Carpenter's more obvious figure).

and I remember being surprised when I saw her in a brief part in "The Expendables," and again in "The Expendables 2," at how young she still looks. To me,she looks younger now than she was in her last year on "Angel." The girl must spend half of her waking time in a gym somewhere.

That's me as well. I usually get 16 or 17, even though I'm 23. It's never really bothered me though, and to be honest, it's made going back to university much easier.
Oh my god, the O.C. Every character on that show looked like they were in their late 20's, and I think they were all supposed to be between 15-17 at the oldest. By far, the O.C. is the worst for that.
