You really should give "Firefly" a shot. This show has some of the best writing and the best ensemble of characters I've ever seen. When I first read the premise of the show, I convinced myself I would hate it, but I kept hearing such wonderful things about it from people here on the boards... Finally, after my husband saw "Serenity" and told me it was amazing, I decided to buy the series and I'm so glad I did. I fell in love with it and I think you will too. If you like the kind of humor the writers give us on BtVS, you'll love "Firefly".
Not sure if I should or not, can someone convince me if this is Joss Whedon's best show since BTVS/Angel
Rest in the link. Obviously. After reading yesterday's post, I realized that I referred to "Firefly" as being "awesome" about 15 separate times. You may be wondering why I think that about a show that was only on for a year. You may be wondering why a whole bunch of people think that, and why they think it's so awesome that they would do something as silly as trying to raise money to buy the show from a studio that probably has 0 interest in selling the property (despite the fact that they will probably never do anything with it again).
Here goes. Things that made "Firefly" awesome.

Taking this thread to another direction. Sorry.
It's easy to get frustrated by shows you love getting cancelled but in the end it comes down to what people watch. Compared to what it costs to make the shows. Money is what matters. Have we heard it before? Of course but that's not the same as liking it. Newspapers, "real" or online write about what sells/get the most hits. Which mostly are gossip and scandals.
So in general we are to blame. Not you and me specificly but as viewers. In the end we decide what's shown. It's much easier to blame the big bad companies though. I do that all the time. I'm good at cursing the tv companies for what they decide to air or cancel.
When it comes to Firefly though it didn't really get a chance the way FOX handled things. It being cancelled is sad (enough) but the way it got treated is way worse.
