Spoiler! Solicitations for Angel and Faith #4 and Buffy #3

That makes me terribly sad for Buffy if it is the case. I absolutely hate that these people can keep doing this to her. I can't believe I am actually finding myself thankful for Spike, because I know he won't turn on her.

What exactly do they "keep doing"? Not helping Buffy when the authorities are looking for her would be completely new ground, because this isn't exactly the first time this happened, the previous half a dozen times they did help her, including breaking into the Initiative's secret compound not once but three times. If you mean disagreeing with Buffy in general, well, sometimes they have a point and sometimes they don't. That said, the situation as presented in the solicitation sounds very OOC and does smell of (ab)using the Scoobies to make us more sympathetic to poor persecuted Buffy. Last time they did that in Empty Places I ended up cheering when Buffy was "kicked out", so you never know what might happen due to writers incompetence. 🙂

It's not all that uncommon for combat troops to form strong personal bonds with the people who share the fight with them, people who you literally trust with your life. It's also not that uncommon for those people to discover, once the smoke clears, that, without the battle, they haven't very much to keep their bond intact.

Even a short respite from the action could have been sufficient to convince Xander and Dawn that they really had neither the desire nor the need to continue the fight, especially now that Buffy has several potential allies, the new Slayers, who are far more qualified to help than hey ever were.

What does this have to do with sheltering Buffy from the police? And since when are Buffy, Willow and Xander friends just because they were in the fight together? The show went at great lengths in the early seasons to show us this wasn't the case, and sloppy writing aside, I have never seen any intention to show that this has changed later on. And this goes double for Dawn who never helped much in the fighting effort to begin with.

Also, I really feel that the Mohra blood is very significant and will be what bring Buffy and Angel back together (not as a couple but...she'll forgive him and be able to move on from last season). Inevitably Buffy is going to get wind of what Angel is doing. She'll blow into London angry and full of purpose. She'll recognise the Mohra and question Angel about it, its blood and that November day a thousand lifetimes ago. Eventually he'll end up telling her what actually happened and Buffy will be floored. We saw last season how grateful and just...moved, she was by Angel giving up paradise for her. For her to hear that he had done it years before that...I think her whole perspective on him, last season and in general will shift.

She should be grateful to Angel for making decisions for her? Really?

As for resurrecting Giles - are there any new ideas in those comics, really? Well, apart fro msentient universes and exposition snakes...

Something just occurred to me awhile ago concerning Angel's supposed quest for Morah blood. Where is it supposed to come from? It was my understanding that once Buffy smashed the egg, magic was pretty much nullified, and all of the demons in the world were evicted to somewhere else (maybe Twilight's dimension/universe). Season 9 was supposed to be just vampires and Slayers. So where is the Morah blood supposed to come from, and, given that no longer works (they've since changed that to "is fading") and the effects of its blood would seem to be magical in nature, how would it in any way work?

Not all the demons in the world were removed, that is the Fray mythology, but it didn't actually happen in S8. The demons that were in the world before The Seed was broken remain here. However, it is suggested that it is not possible for more demons to be made/born/hatched. Whatever they do. So, that Mohra that we saw on the cover of issue 3 was on Earth prior to The Seed being destroyed.

As for how Angel could get its blood, well all he would have to do is immobilise it long enough for a blood letting. Once Angel had the blood, he could crack the jewel and the Mohra is gone.

As for how Angel could make the blood work in a magicless world? I'm assuming that is what the arc of the season is about. And probably what Allie meant when he said Angel and Willow are trying to do the same thing; bring magic back.

I guess we have to wait and see. I'm so afraid it's gonna be another Empty Places, and by that I mean the Scoobies acting cruel without explaining why which is cruel from the writers on the Scoobies behalf. We love those characters, stop trashing them please.

I do agree because I really enjoyed Dawn & Xander's character development in season 8. I kind of wish I would stop reading these because I'm getting too spoiled.

I love the art though, it's amazing.

It looks like with Angel out of the BtVS comics, the writers need other characters to destroy.

I can't believe Angel & Faith actually looks like it might be good. I'm still very much hesitant to pick it up though. I'm afraid it might suck and cause me to lose interest in this franchise altogether.

I'll probably end up reading Angel & Faith, I don't think I'll be able to resit. The story sounds good and the art is great. Those are two things I haven't seen in any S9 preview, etc.
