That it will pan out into something incredibly interesting and that, as an actress, Michelle Trachtenberg kicks it. Fabulous. Absolutely Fabulous. I've had three or four scenes and they've always been just easy. Easy, fine and wonderful. You see Joss is always tricking you, leading you in the opposite direction. He's always a magician. He's always a trickster. He is telling you now not to like her. She's always in the way. She's always whining, right? But just trust us.
(6-01 Birmingham, UK) The people on the set call me Tigger because I'm always trying to keep awake, but Michelle's even bouncier than me. Dawn and Spike have a great relationship. If Spike were bad Dawn would be the first person he killed and when she's good, she's the first person he's protecting. 'He'll protect anything Buffy loves: Giles, Dawn her Mom' .
(3-02 Buffy Magazine) She rocks as an actor!. She's great to work with. She's a total pro. She's so talented - it's so unfair! How dare she be that good! I wasn't that good at her age - I sucked when I was her age!

(1-03 Creation Con) We all whine! Why you guys picking on Dawn?! I never understood that. In fact, it's like in the beginning of the show, like, Joss told you to hate Dawn, you guys know that? He wanted you ... but then I think he was counting on you feeling guilty for that. I'm not gonna talk about biting Michelle Tractenberg with a ten-foot pole. She's much too young to even be thinking about (? something?). We were given a mandate when she came on the set: KEEP HER YOUNG! If you know what I mean! So, she hates us now for it. She's like 17, and we don't let ... we completely isolate her from any ... like, Sarah won't allow anyone to work with their shirt off while they're building sets, while Dawn ... while Michelle is around, you know. It's that much. Because the thing, I mean, seriously, in Hollywood, it can really ruin a young person's life if they don't have a little insulation from some of that stuff in Hollywood. And it can actually ruin your life if you're my age! {hehe} So, yeah, so I'm all about protecting Michelle Tractenberg, she probably hates me for saying that, you know, yeah.
(6-03 Moonlight Rising) She was fabulous, but I did get a couple- I got some scenes with her in"¦was it 6? Yeah, yeah. Was it five? "¦she's really wonderful you know, and the character allowed you guys to get led down the path a little bit cuz I mean, you had Dawn starting to hang out with Spike. And I'm not sure if it came across like Joss and Marti were intending but the audience was supposed to be like, what is she doing get away from- he's evil, he's gonna eat her. And how dangerous it is for an older sister to start dating the bad boy and give that message to the younger sister like this is ok, this is healthy, this is good.But beyond that, they didn't really include enough in the characters to- to need to bring them together that much. You know, beyond that statement, I don't know how much fertile ground there was, I'm not talking about Michelle Trachtenberg, I'm talking about Dawn and Spike. I don't know if there would've been the best interesting scene between those two, after that. I dunno. It's Joss. "
