They have fought before,but who was the best?
Angel usually got the upper hand,untill that awesome
punch-up they had about the shangshu,shushang,shitzu....
oh you know what i mean,prophecy.
Spike really laid into angel.Personally my fave angel episode that.

spike well kicks angels ass, and angel is like gutted, he says that spike wanted it more, so that's how he won the fight.

Just like Buffy vs. Faith.


Spike and Faith's style isn't pretty, they mostly go on RAW strength. They're hardcore brawlers

Buffy and Angel's technique is more about precision and timing, but the BAD A$$ERY and strength is ever present.

Despite the differences, they still matchup pretty well.

Always a treat to watch them go at it.
 
Ya, the Buffy/Faith fights were some of the best ever. I also like the Faith/Angel fight from Angel s1, when she starts crying and breaks down at the end. Did NOT see that coming.

Anyone have a fav fight scene actually? The Faith/Angelus fight was pretty good too, after the Beast totally wrecks her up. Buffy and army of girls vs Caleb when Xander loses his eye is pretty horrific... Buffy and Faith in Revelations, fighting when the fake watcher got the gauntlet was a little short, but also good. Man, so many good ones to chose from.

Lmao thanks for posting! That just made my day.
Despite me being a major Spuffy all the way, and loving Spike to bits.. I'm gunna say that I think Angel would win, if there ever was a battle to the death *cringes* Because he seems more experienced in Combat than Spike. Spike tends to take things to far, where as Angel knows when to bail.

When Spike came to L.A. to confront Angel about the Gem of Amarra (or is it Amara?), it led to a most decidedly one sided fight -- far more one sided than the battle in "Destiny" -- with Angel casually gaining the upper hand.

Spike and Angel's subsequent dialogue also makes obvious implications that every time the two had fought in the past, Angel emerged victorious. From Spike's "You're not gonna win this time!" to Angel's shameful confession to Gunn that Spike had beaten him "for the first time."

Not to mention that when Spike, Wesley, Gunn, and Lorne all confronted Angel in his office at the end of "Power Play," Angel dismantled all of them simultaneously.

Personally, I found the fight scene in "Destiny" to be the best one in both series; it was emotionally and physically spectacular and done in such a manner that you can't help but root for Spike. He was always the underdog, the abused flunkie, and insecure due to Angelus's manipulations.

He needed his moment of glory. And what a moment it was!

But in a conventional fight? Angel wins.

I'll speak for Angelus. Spike, without a doubt.

Angel is more devious, and tends to plot his killings, whereas Spike just goes for it, which would give him the lead.
 
Angel would win. He thinks about the fighting, watches out, knows when to do what. Spike's pretty good in fighting too, but he does it without thinking.
At least in my opinion.
 
I think Angel would win.
Although taking into consideration that Spike has killed two slayers, he is very good in a fight.
Going against Angel however, he'd fall short in most cases.
Whenever Angel fights, he has his heart in the right place, where as Spike usually doesn't.
The reason Spike won in Destiny, was because that one time he wanted it, so bad.
Not saying Angel didn't, but Angel always has that tortured thing going on.
There was probably a part of him that didn't think he deserved it.

This. Angel is pretty meticulous about his fights and I think that gives him the edge. Spike seems kind of sloppy compared.
 
Spike is a brawler, Angel is a tactician. Given the mythical 'All Things Being Equal' Angel wins this fight every time. Not only that but Angel is older and taught Spike everything he knows.

Perfect analogy. I am a total Spuffy, but Angel could definetly kick his.... backside, and could proably kill him, too, if he really felt up to it. I think Angel's battle skills are more based on his feelings, i.e. if he's really pissed off, he has a better chance of winning. If he's all depressed as he often is, he doesn't care so much. Spike's skills more rely on his, simply put, will to survive. He gets as violent as he wants when it's he who is in danger. So I guess it would have to come down to how Angel is "feeling" that day.
 
Listen.Angel would win most fights,because spike quit.
In school hard angel was very wary of spike,and is it me or did spike get turned into a pussy somewhere along the line?
Now though they are pretty even.
Angelus is a differant proposition.
As the Master once said,"Ah Angelus.He was the most ferrocious killer i have ever met"
Joss brought Spike in for a one shot deal,Buffy was supposed to kill him,but JW liked the character so kept him in the show.
Only to slowly turn him into a wuss.
So yeah,now it would be tight,Spike Vs Angel that is!
 
Hmm thats a toughey but I'm gona have to go with Spike. They have faced each other many a time and they seem pretty equal to be honest but still Spike is pretty kick ass lol . Not that Angel isn't good either. Ahhhh its so hard to choose, but imho spike generally was the stronger vamp.
