March 15 is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time in the United States, a plan designed originally to create the illusion of an extra hour of daylight, thus allowing farmers that extra time to work their fields. The idea was first proposed by Benjamin Franklin, who got the idea from watching an old Indian cut a foot off of one end of his blanket and sew it onto the other end in order to get a longer blanket.
So, my question is primarily for US residents, but anyone else is free to chime in as well. The question is, do you really think that Daylight Savings Time actually has any positive affect on our (mostly non-agricultural) society?
Personally, I can see no use it it whatsoever. It never saved any energy at all where I either worked or lived, because our energy consumption never changed in either place.
