Actually, pretty much any of the fics posted for this seasonal_spuffy round are worth reading. A masterlist got posted yesterday, makes it easier to check everything out.

And I've gotta rec an excellent fic that I just started reading today - The Rose by coalitiongirl. She requested a banner from me for the fic, so I started to read it - and I love it so far. Well-written, unusual premise and though it's a slow-burn Spuffy fic, it's highly entertaining.

The Watchers Academy- where young potential slayers and watchers go to train in demonology, magic, and combat so that they can someday fight vampires, demons, and the forces of evil. There are evil magic professors, a principal with a secret, and an unbreachable wall between the slayers and the watchers. And in the basement, imprisoned vampires scheme and dream of destroying them all...

Can't link to it because it's got a higher rating, but it's at all the usual places.

Nice little fic by coalitiongirl. I far prefer her version of S8 events than what has actually happened. 😀

AU, takes place sometime soon before #35 of the comics. Buffy and Spike muse on time and circumstances that have kept them apart and brought them together.

Yeah, Angel's idea. It's his inner dork at play, because Buffy, Cordy, and Spike all know this is a bad, bad idea.
 
I've just finished reading an amazing Spuffy historical fic. Ahh. I was in tears for the last two chapters (which made it a little hard to read through all the blurriness 😛)

But seriously... wow. I don't think a fic has affected me this much since Forward to Time Past or The Butcher.

Unfortunately I can't link to it because it's got a mature rating. But if you find it, read it!

There's so many to read! I have no idea where to start! Which to choose, which to choose...Thank goodness my school holidays are coming up! 😀

Oh, and does anyone know any good fics where Spike is a teacher and Buffy a student? I know it's kinda wrong, but I read Baby Love by Niamh and it was great! Or any fics with similar circumstances (ie they're not supposed to be together)? I'm a sucker for forbidden relationships. 🙂

Okay, perhaps someone can recommend a good fic to me... I'm looking for something that is reasonable in length. Not something that is not to long, but something that has a decent story.

I basically want something that isn't to angsty or even to spuffy based. Something that is basically like a season 1-3, one off monster of the week style. Lots of scooby interaction and lots of quirky dialogue. I want something that is basically a story, that happens to have spike and Buffy in a relationship. So a little bit of cutesy spuffy stuff.

I don't even know if that kind of thing exists, but I'm sooo sick of reading crappy fanfic!
 
I'm surprised all you've come across is crappy fanfic when there's so much good stuff out there!

An author I can recommend that'll sort of fit the kind of thing you're after is EnigmaticBlue - she basically rewrites various seasons with a twist thrown in.

Like, she has a s2-3 rewrite featuring Spike as a second souled vampire. S4-5 with Spike turned human in the Initiative instead of chipped. S7 Spike and Buffy get sent back to their S4 bodies. Etc. They're really good. Can't link as I'm on my phone, but if you google her name, you'll find her author site.

This AU-verse is based on the premise that in the middle of XX century The Watcher Council and The Initiative joined forces, and one of the consequences was the modernization of the Slayer system. Buffy's slayer potential has been discovered by The Watchers Council in due time; she'd been sent to The Watchers Academy where the potential slayers and future watchers get education and training (there definitely are some elements of Hogwarts template in the set-up) What's more, The Council had caught the members of The Fang Four and now keeps them as prisoners and sparring partners for future slayers. Complex, inventive plotting and spot-on voices. I enjoyed it enormously.

Oh sweet merciful Zeus! Thank you, thank you, thank you to all for the suggestions!!! I've read every Buffy/Angel book I can get my hands on, and have almost run out of new reads.... this fan-fic stuff is JUST the stuff I was looking for!!!

I just finished reading "Can I Keep You" by CandyNicks. I loved it. 😀

It's getting more and more difficult for me to find fics that I haven't already read. 🙁 I've just started re-reading Baby Steps which isn't even online anymore.

So keep the recs coming. 😀

I want to read At Your Service by dampers but I'm waiting for it to be completed first...

New fics get posted everyday on The Spuffy Realm. Do you check there often? Bloodshedverse also has some good ones occassionally, and if you're really desperate you could go through the archives on Fanfiction.net, lol.
